No More “Magic Aprons”: Longitudinal Assessment And Continuous Improvement Of Customer Service At The University Of North Dakota Libraries, Karlene T. Clark, Stephanie R. Walker

The University of North Dakota (UND) Libraries have developed a multi-award winning Customer Service Program (CSP) involving longitudinal assessment and continuous improvement. The CSP consists of iterative training modules; constant reinforcement of Customer Service Principles with multiple communication strategies and tools, and incentives that boost morale and foster not only compliance, but initiative-taking and innovation. The CSP became a widely adopted part of campus-wide assessment, beyond the libraries. Subsequent presentations at conferences led to multiple requests and implementation at other libraries.

This study explores the shared challenges during the acculturation process of graduate student immigrants pursuing higher education in the United States. 13 graduate student immigrants at the University of San Francisco discuss their experiences of cultural adjustment into U.S. culture. Through qualitative interviews and thematic analysis, this study seeks to understand the acculturation experiences of graduate student immigrants in the San Francisco Bay Area of the United States. The college athletic recruiting process is one cluttered with many different factors. Studies have analyzed institutional and social factors impacting a prospective student-athletes’ recruitment process. However, little research has explored recruiting from an athlete’s perspective on how they make their college decision. For a team to be successful, coaches and players need to have a good relationship. Without this relationship there can be tension within the team that hinders success. The many factors that impact the formation of these relationships depend on both the coach and the athlete. From the data it shows that the athletes that were part of the sample, their motivation and other factors were affected by the poor relationships that were built. If there can be information on what affects the relationship, future coaches and athletic directors can use this information to their advantage.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between engagement, job satisfaction, job burnout, and turnover intention as provided by higher education student services employees. This study addressed the gap in the literature: the lack of information regarding the experiences, attitudes, and perceptions of student services employees and examined the relationships among employee engagement, job satisfaction, job burnout, turnover intention by analyzing the responses received from members of the electronically mailed (e-mail) survey that contains a combination of three main survey instruments to review employee engagement, job burnout, job satisfaction, and turnover intention.

How do knowledge workers interact with their colleagues when organizations increasingly ask them to work on multiple activities, projects and working spheres simultaneously? Given the importance of social networks for individual and organizational success, in this study we explore the relationship between individual preferences for engaging in multiple tasks simultaneously (individual polychronicity), the perception of the organization’s demands in terms of engaging in multiple tasks simultaneously (organizational polychronicity), and centrality in instrumental networks. Adopting a mixed-methods approach, we collected data from knowledge professionals in a research and development (R&D) unit. This area has received large amounts of media attention since the release of a documentary, entitled Corridor of Shame – The Neglect of South Carolina’s Rural Schools. The purpose of this research is to provide insight into the changes of integrated marketing communications in a political environment and the impact of different tones in a presidential campaign. Using the Twitter correspondence of the Republican and Democratic nominees, a content analysis was used to discover positive tones, negative tones, and themes during the 2016 presidential election. Autonomous Vehicle are coming. But mass adoption is at least ten years away according to consensus compiled from interviews conducted with industry thought lenders. Questions remain as to what technology those vehicles will contain as there is no universal platform for autonomous vehicle technology, since manufacturers, hardware and software companies are developing their own proprietary products. The Financial Analysis and Valuation of Nuvera Communications, Inc. uses the discounted free cash flow at the weighted average cost of capital model to forecast the intrinsic value for Nuvera Communications. Nuvera Communications competes in a highly competitive, innovative, and volatile industry which may explain why earnings and price per share may fluctuate from year to year for some companies. In the PDF provided, the model found the intrinsic value per share of Nuvera was below that of the current market price per share, suggesting a current over valuation of Nuvera's stock.
