Measuring And Unpacking Affective Polarization On Twitter: The Role Of Party And Gender In The 2018 Senate Races, Kevin Mentzer, Kate Fallon, Janet Prichard, David Yates

This study examines how the Twittersphere talked about candidates running for the U.S senate in the 2018 congressional elections. We classify Twitter users as Liberal or Conservative to better understand how the two groups use social media during a major national political election. Using tweet sentiment, we assess how the Twittersphere felt about in-group party versus out-group party candidates. When we further break these findings down based on the candidates’ gender, we find that male senatorial candidates were talked about more positively than female candidates. Out of different use cases there are been organizations that are prototyping blockchain for food traceability and these prototypes have been successful. Blockchain is a buzzword and before an organization builds a prototype, they should research what blockchain and decide if their use case is a blockchain or database solution, what blockchain platforms are available to use.

The present study is intended to scholarly explore auditors’ perceptions regarding joint audits; whether it can improve audit quality. To reach this goal, participants were enrolled from Big 4, non-Big 4, and other stockholders. In addition, the present study examines the perception of the same stakeholders in terms of how audit concentration affects the audit market in the UAE. Business Process Management (BPM) Maturity Model captures the “as-is” condition of the organization’s Process Capabilities (PC). Once an organization has defined their “as-is” condition, they are the best positioned to establish their BPM roadmap. The objective of this research was to discover whether a significant relationship exists between the theoretically diversifying effects of inter-industry mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) and changes in the volatilities of acquisitive firms’ publicly-traded equity security returns (measured as the standard deviation of percentage changes in price) from pre-transaction announcement to post-transaction completion. My hypothesis is that a negative relationship should exist between changes in a firm’s equity return volatility over time and whether the firm completes a diversifying acquisition, which I define as one in which the target firm primarily operates in a different industry than the acquirer. 980 diversifying …

Purpose: Drawing from the appraisal theory, this paper aims to examine the conditions under which abusive leaders experience guilt and suggests that guilt motivates leaders to help followers. Design/methodology/approach: A scenario study with a sample of 285 hospitality supervisors was used to test the theoretical model. Path analyses were conducted to test the three-way-moderated mediation model. Findings: Results show a three-way interaction among enacted abuse, managerial abuse and agreeableness on the guilt: leaders are more likely to experience guilt over their enacted abusive supervision when they do not perceive their direct manager as abusive and when they are agreeable. This study analyzes the factors influencing consumers’ self-reported expected food waste when preparing a meal at home versus buying the meal already prepared. Results show that far-off expiration dates are expected to generate less food waste—particularly for fresh produce used in larger quantities and chicken. The Ready to Heat meal generated the lowest expected food waste. Convenient meal alternatives have the potential to reduce organic food waste, aside from any potential packaging waste, by facilitating the handling of products in transit, improving logistics, and reducing organic food waste.
