Within collegiate athletics, there is a growing interest in the management of head trauma incidents. This qualitative study was designed to answer two research questions: (1) What is the role of athletic directors in the management of head trauma prevention? (2) What are the major concerns of athletic directors regarding head trauma prevention and what should happen in the future? Findings from the research questions revealed three themes: (a) Indirect mention of head trauma prevention in athletic director job description, (b) athletic director delegation to medical professionals, and (c) athletic directors want more research and education on head trauma prevention. …

In corporate finance and valuation, we start off with the presumption that the riskfree rate is given and easy to obtain and focus the bulk of our attention on estimating the risk parameters of individuals firms and risk premiums. But is the riskfree rate that simple to obtain? Both academics and practitioners have long used government security rates as riskfree rates, though there have been differences on whether to use short term or long- term rates. The Equity Premium In 150 Textbooks, Pablo Fernandez

This article is based on a review of 150 textbooks on corporate finance and valuation published between 1979 and 2009 by authors such as Brealey, Myers, Copeland, Damodaran, Merton, Ross, Bruner, Bodie, Penman, Arzac etc. Analysis of the sample shows that the books’ recommendations regarding the equity premium range from 3% to 10%, and that 51 books use different equity premia on various pages. Moreover, the 5-year moving average is seen to have declined from 8.4% in 1990 to 5.7% in 2008 and 2009.

Drowning amongst older people is a growing concern. Exploring demographic and other factors associated with unintentional drowning incidents amongst older adults may assist to identify key target groups and refine prevention strategies. This study sought to examine the heterogeneity of older individuals who have drowned and identify population subgroups in Western Australia (WA). A cluster analysis was used to segment the population by examining coronial data 2001-2018 (n = 93). Purpose

This study aims to investigate salespersons’ self-monitoring and its effect on adaptive selling behavior. As salespeople are constantly facing different customers with various needs and want and engaging in a different sales situation, salespeople must deploy their inner capabilities in practicing adaptive selling behavior during and across sales interactions. This study also investigates the impact of salesperson’s intrapersonal leadership – where leadership stems from the individuals with the purpose to influence oneself.

Design/methodology/approach

JOHNSON CITY (Dec. 14, 2020) – The ETSU Health COVID-19 community collection site that delivers PCR molecular test results in 24 hours is moving to a new location at the East Tennessee State University Parking Garage, located at the corner of State of Franklin Road and Jack Vest Drive.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 14, the COVID-19 collection site will become a drive-through testing site, operating on the second floor of the parking garage. Pre-registration through the ETSU Health website (www.etsuhealth.org) is required for tests.

Previously, the site was hosted at the Johnson City Community Health Center. However, as the …

This is a long-form story that outlines the hazards of restaurant work that predated the pandemic, among them wage theft, racism and sexual harassment. The story focuses on three restaurant workers pushed to unionize after Covid-19 worsened working conditions by cutting take-home pay and creating new safety hazards for employees. Companies restate when material misstatements are identified in previously issued financial statements. Misstatement research in Latin America is sparse, even though they are an important context to study this phenomenon. Chile’s corporate governance regulations are considered exemplars for Latin American countries but its auditing profession is not well developed. Thus, Chile provides an interesting context to study the complementary roles of audit and board governance affecting misstatements. Using a sample of 104 Chilean listed firms over seven years, our study finds that the board links and audit partner tenure negatively affect misstatements.
