Nonprofit brands vary widely in their positioning to consumers, ranging from crisis and desperation, to joy and optimism.The literature, however, provides limiteddirection for the many nonprofit organizations that seek to align their brand with positive emotions. Herein, we examine the relationship between affective displays (sad vs. happy) portrayed in charitable advertisements and consumer self-construal in shaping consumer generosity.We employ one field study (study 1) and one lab experiment (study 2), using different charitable causes (i.e., Kiva.org[study 1] and a fictitious children’s cancer charity [study 2]) and currencies (i.e., lending money [study 1] and volunteering time [study 2]).Taken together, we find …

Do-it-yourself (DIY) science research is currently in an expansion phase both in terms of its depth (with an increasing number of papers published each year) and its scope (with the core ideas being linked to an increasing number of constructs). To develop a more holistic appreciation of how the field has developed and to identify potential avenues of future research we undertake a bibliometric content analysis of the DIY science literature post 1980. We find four major clusters pertaining to education, culture, the operationalising of DIY science (including commercialisation) and technology-related issues. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the importance of education economics as a modern approach to educational research, especially the importance of the policy of raising teacher wages as a mechanism to improve the educational attainment of students in government schools. The study used the inductive approach by examining the experience of Algeria between 1970 and 2018, where the Algerian government raised teachers' wages by more than 100% with the aim of improving the educational attainment of students. The site-level evaluation for Nebraska was designed to understand implementation of and outcomes related to CFS Strong and its component parts, including Resilience Alliance (RA), Peer Support Groups (PSG) and Restoring Resiliency Response© (RRR). Relationships among intervention components, outputs, and outcomes were mapped out in Nebraska’s logic model. Initial research questions of interest included how much participants were satisfied with the RA, PSG, and RRR sessions they attended. Zara has become extremely popular as a global fashion enterprise and remains significantly profitable in the fashion industry. With a leading supply chain operation strategy, they have been a leading retailer for many decades. This empirical research study involves research and assessment of Inditex's ESG performance and evaluations based on ASSET4 data source's evaluations, using the Stata software. Results show that Inditex remains a strong competitor in the fast fashion industry when compared to its rivals within 4 different categorical markets: all sample firms in Spain, all global retailers, and all sample firms separated by continent. Spill and pollution (SP) accidents cause significant damage to the natural environment. They also result in financial costs and reputational losses for the offending firm. As such, understanding how firms respond to such crises is of significant interest to firm stakeholders, such as investors, customers, regulators, NGOs, employees, and local communities. In this study, we examine whether publicly disclosed SP accidents cause firms to alter their approach to environmental management, as expressed by the adoption of environmental management practices (EMPs). The purpose of this study is to examine the current Town Centre Management [TCM] practices within Ireland’s rural towns since the abolition of Town Councils in 2014. This new study finds that Ireland’s approach to TCM is much more complicated and multifarious, with varying practices across the samples. The findings highlight a fractured TCM partnership between the private sector (Retailers, Volunteering Groups, Citizens, and Business Owners) and the public sector (Local Government). Prior literature suggests that public offering clients of Big 4 auditing firms are more likely to get sued due to their “deep pockets” which might trigger the filing of lawsuits. However, it is not clear whether variation in auditor knowledge and experience among Big 4 audit offices might affect the litigation risk. In this paper, I examine whether auditor experience in public offerings measured at the audit office level is associated with lawsuit incidence related to initial and secondary public offerings. This three-essay project explores boundary management and work-nonwork enrichment to explain how thriving in the work domain relates to thriving in the nonwork domain. The Cross-Domain Thriving model proposed in Study 1 theorizes that when employees experience growth and energy at work, they create and deplete resources within and across roles and individual boundary management strategies, role congruency, and ease of transition moderate the degree to which thriving translates into enrichment and/or conflict across roles.
