Optimal Economies Of Scope In The Residential Real Estate Brokerage Industry, Danielle Lewis

Recent studies of scale economies on residential real estate brokerages, using an efficient frontier, find increasing returns to scale for nearly the entire range of brokerage sizes, as measured by revenue units.1 However, the lower per unit cost of producing listing and sales may partially be explained by economies of scope. Economies of scope exist if producing sales and listings jointly in a single brokerage firm is more cost efficient than producing them in two separate brokerage firms that specialize. Part-Time Participation Among Married Women Who Work In The Market, Tong Zeng

This paper explores how age influences the married women's decision to choose part-time jobs. For married women, especially young married women with significant household responsibilities, part-time employment provides an important way for joining in the labor market and pursuing career and occupational goals. The empirical results show that the number of children, the presence of children under six years old and the husband's wage rate increase the married woman's decision to work part-time.

The objective of this research is to estimate the proportion of consumers who consider nutrients identified in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025 (DGA) as being of public health concern during food choice using a large, population-weighted sample of U.S. residents. A question was included in a bi-monthly survey of consumer scanner panel members, asking whether respondents considered each of eight nutrients in a check-all-that-apply format. Four of these nutrients are under-consumed nutrients, while three are nutrients to avoid. Calories was additionally included, as over-consumption of calories causes weight gain. Live streaming has become one of the most important communication tools for influencers to synchronously interact with viewers. It is critical to understand the effect of the reciprocal and synchronously interactive relations built between influencers and viewers, so-called trans-parasocial relations, in the context of live streaming. In this study, we investigate how trans-parasocial relations impact viewers’ stickiness and purchase intention on live streaming platforms. Furthermore, we investigate fanship as a mediating factor in the relationship between trans-parasocial relations and viewers’ behaviors. Ubuntu leadership, a leadership style promoted following South Africa’s first democratic election, is one such leadership theory. While Ubuntu has been an ethnographic philosophy and a long-established part of African cultures, the philosophy gained prominence following eminent South African leaders’ call to bring Ubuntu principles into the national reconstruction and development plan of post-apartheid South Africa. Present research aims at the introduction of the term “Fiscal Trap” in economic literature, as a comprehensive definition of the economic situation in which any available combination of fiscal-only policy measures (tax increases and austerity measures), would fail to fulfill fiscal targets during periods of recession. Using recent experience from the case of Greece, an ex-post evaluation of adopted policy effectiveness is pursued. Fiscal austerity and increased taxation enforced in Greece during the years 2009-2012, resulted in decreased tax revenues, lower GDP and increased debt-to-GDP ratio. The Terrorist Laffer Curve:Rationality And Insurgency In Iraq, 2004-2008, Dennis S. Edwards

While the original framework by Arthur Laffer focused on tax rates and the resulting revenue from such taxation, the Laffer curve has been applied to other studies in behavior as well. This paper details evidence of a Laffer curve in Iraq with respect to terrorist violence and Iraqi public support of that violence against the U.S.-led coalition forces. As insurgents began killing more Iraqi citizens in their attacks on U.S.-led forces, the increased lethality caused initial support of such violence to erode. As a result, the high-level terrorist hierarchy has suggested that its operatives reduce lethality and indiscriminate bombings.

Mission-driven, independently-owned community food stores have been identified as a potential solution to improve access to healthy foods, yet to date there is limited information on what factors contribute to these stores’ success and failure. Using a multiple case study approach, this study examined what makes a healthy community food store successful and identified strategies for success in seven community stores in urban areas across the United States. This paper is an attempt to explore the challenges faced by Indian working women in safeguarding equilibrium between their personal and professional life. The various factors affecting the work –life balance of married Indian working women have been examined in this study. 120 Indian working women have substantiated their work life, which is evident in this research. This in turn signifies that the problems faced by the Indian working women are considerably low. The conclusions highlights the fact that the people's work-life balance has an impact on their quality of life.

This article asserts that the answer to our current labor crisis may not be as challenging as it appears if management will apply an old theory (Job Characteristics Model) to our contemporary workforce challenges. The article illustrates the key dimensions of the model and provides specific leadership recommendations for applying the JCM model to our current employment environment. Finally, the article also asserts that a new employee-centric style of leadership that requires a shift in leadership values and mindset is necessary to address the labor shortage and that JCM is a useful tool to facilitate that transition.
