This article issues a challenge for interpretive tourism researchers to consider the trove of online data currently disavowed by aficionados of Netnography. Non-dyadic social media data is used by researchers but has been devalued as lacking legitimacy. However, by combining ‘lifeless’ non-dyadic social media with lesser-engaged ethnographic methods a lived proxy can be achieved. Nethnography is a two-part qualitative praxis of spending enough time with the phenomenon to discern meanings with confidence, which is then used to interpret non-dyadic textual discourse. Research suggests that sustainability may not be sufficient to yield a competitive advantage. Building on the resource-based view, this research evaluates three questions: (1) Can using sustainability as a differentiator lead to consumers choosing sustainable products? (2) Does product sustainability appeal more to environmentally concerned consumers? (3) Does product sustainability appeal more when paired with innovation? To test the hypotheses, an online survey of 344 US respondents was conducted. Consumers were given a hypothetical budget for an office chair and asked to choose between two products at a time. Hypotheses were tested with frequency and Chisquare tests and logistic regression. …

Youth Revolving Fund (YRF) loan was established to help unemployed youths alleviate their economic and social difficulties. However, its loan repayment performance is not as expected. Thus, the objective of this study was to examine effect of socio-economic factors on loan repayment performance of YRF in Oromia Regional State. 328 data collected from 328 respondents and the result showed peer pressure, loan diversion, time of maturity of investment and predominant economic shocks were affected loan repayment at 5% level of significance. Finally, government is recommended to create awareness about YRF loan, reconsider training and guidance, and alternative fund utilization strategy.

The paper analyses human capital investments and their relation to company performance in Croatia. Human capital represents an inevitable element in recognising and measuring an organisation’s values and supporting its business excellence. The results obtained show that training and extra bonuses or salaries are positively correlated with company excellence, as well as show a significant difference in the mean of salaries per employee between high and moderate intensive intellectual capital companies. The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence by life insurance companies increases the risk that such practices may unfairly discriminate against insurance applicants based on race. The article briefly discusses the history of racial discrimination in life insurance pricing, followed by a summary of current antidiscrimination law. Next, proposed state legislation to address discrimination risks posed by artificial intelligence is discussed. Finally, the article discusses the potential that professional standards may provide a faster way to mitigate discrimination risk in a nationally uniform manner.

This study investigates the short-and long-term consequences of coronavirus-induced declines in firm activity on firm value. This association was explored explicitly at both the market and industry levels. The panel data covers the period from March 19,2020,to June 25,2020,for 136 publicly traded non-financial companies. The panel pooling mean group/Autoregressive Distributed Lag estimate method is utilized to investigate the Coronavirus's short-and long-term effects on firm value. The primary findings indicate that the pandemic negatively impactedthe daily stock returns of all industries besides healthcare. Political and Social issues have encompassed the athletic nature of sport. Athlete activism has been increasingly more common. Specifically, Colin Kaepernick and Megan Rapinoe have been two prominent activists to advocate for inequalities. 379 respondents, collected from Mount Vernon High School and Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) participated in a study using questionnaires adopted from Sappington (2019) and Torres-Harding (2011). The Social Justice Scale (SJS) is an 11-item questionnaire measuring activism and The Attitudes of Athlete Activism Questionnaire (ATAAQ) contained 19-items that thoroughly measure athlete activism perspectives. © The Author(s) 2020. This qualitative study conducted three focus groups with transnational social workers (TSWs) in three cities of Aotearoa New Zealand. The aim of the study was to examine the transitional experience of TSWs, particularly in relation to any strategies and mechanisms existing in the host country to facilitate their personal and professional transition. A significant finding is that a coherent profession-wide programme for facilitating the transition is absent as the existing practices are mostly within the employer–employee relationships. Transitional experiences of TSWs are explained using the metaphor of ‘territory’ and some strategies for effective transition are suggested.

Greenleaf’s foundational work on servant leadership has evolved considerably over the past 50 years. Servant leadership has been found to have positive outcomes on group and organisational effectiveness. While servant leadership characteristics and outcomes have been measured, is a need to be better understand how servant leaders navigate when they disagree. Using a social and cultural analysis, the conflict between Paul and Barnabas is explored.
