The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to understand the lived experience of personnel adversely impacted by toxic leadership. This topic is important to study because the harassment, bullying, and narcissistic behavior exhibited by toxic leaders and negative environments have severe adverse implications for personnel, such as reduced accomplishments, mental health, lack of trust, and overall wellbeing. The Effect Of Lockdown Repeal On Socialization: Bayesian Multilevel Difference-In-Differences Approach, Hyunwoo Jung, Yiling Li, Jeonghye Choi

The COVID-19 lockdown has had an unprecedented impact on people in various ways. This study evaluates the effect of lockdown repeal from both marketing and public-policy perspectives. Combining the Bayesian multilevel model with the difference-in-differences design, we find that a lockdown repeal has had a negative impact on socialization. Furthermore, the results show that those who have a low level of risk perception are less affected by lockdown repeal. Also, the negative effect of lockdown repeal varies depending on past socialization behaviors; that is, the lockdown-repeal effect is attenuated for those who socialized more than others in the past. This study investigates how affects elicited by visual images in print ads are integrated to form a liking for the ads. Assuming a sequential rather than simultaneous processing of still-cut images, we adopt the ‘think-aloud’ method to capture consumers’ spontaneous responses to visual images. We hypothesize that not only would consumers show mixed affects toward a still-cut visual image but that they would also integrate their serial affects heuristically rather than simply averaging the affects as suggested by the compensatory hypothesis. University Medical Center (UMC), a major teaching hospital, will also be an important driver of the academic health center. Different Maternal Responses And Cognitions In Hypothetical Power Bouts: Relations To Parenting Styles, Kathy L. Ritchie

In order to explore how parental styles and maternal cognitions interacted with difficult extended discipline episodes called power bouts, 88 mothers were categorized as either Authoritative, Authoritarian, Permissive, or Uninvolved. Mothers then read six hypothetical vignettes about a 4-year-old child misbehaving and were asked how they would respond to the child and how they would respond a second time if the child did not behave. These open-ended responses were coded on a scale of increasing power assertiveness with 0 being giving in and 5 indicating using punishment through spanking, removal of privilege, or time out. It is imperative that today’s advertising, journalism, mass communication, and public relations students are prepared to engage in corporate activism and corporate social responsibility communications once in the workforce. This article explores the need for incorporating equity-based pedagogy, using feminism as one of many approaches, into skills-based communication courses. The researchers conducted 20 qualitative interviews with academics to discuss various approaches, examples, and learnings. The findings suggest that using a feminist framework to teach skills: (1) enhances the skill being taught, (2) allows students to communicate more effectively, (3) builds life skills, and (4) comes in many forms. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges for business operations, it has certainly driven businesses to deploy digital technologies in a variety of areas, including customer engagement, customer services, and workflow coordination. In addition to supporting overall business strategies, digital technologies have been shown to carry the capacity to trigger business innovations and renewal. This pilot study aims to understand the impact of COVID-19 on digitalization and further investigate the various paths of digital transformation at different businesses. High-performance computing is a difficult subject to teach in an academic setting, given the exorbitant costs and technical difficulties. Raspberry Pi single-board computers have been used in recent years to create clusters that function as mini high-performance computers. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the educational equivalence of building a Raspberry Pi cluster in comparison to running a high-performance computing environment. For this research, an eight-node cluster was built and tested in comparison to a laptop. Through the process of building the cluster, skills learned were documented to evaluate the educational value.
