This Article focuses on capital market efficiency as an often-downplayed legal rationale for mandating corporate climate disclosure, and explores it alongside the notion of investor demand, which has assumed a prominent and, increasingly, contested role in debates on climate disclosure. Because market efficiency (encompassing both securities price accuracy and overall capital market allocative efficiency) is generally unobservable, many commentators have instead emphasized the highly visible investor demand for climate-related disclosure as evidenced by shareholder proposals, voting behavior, stewardship policies, and public statements. Securities disclosure is a human process. Each year, public companies collectively spend over fifteen million hours producing disclosures that undergird an equities market with tens of trillions in market capitalization. The procedures they follow in doing so affect whether their disclosures contain misstatements or omissions—errors that can cause trading losses for investors, and litigation for issuers. Yet despite the importance of the disclosures that firms produce, the literature says little about how they do it, including whether they are spending too much, too little, or just enough on their disclosure procedures. ปัจจุบัน SMEs มีบทบาทสำคัญทางเศรษฐกิจ ทั้งในด้านการจ้างงาน การพัฒนานวัตกรรมและการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศ การศึกษาชิ้นนี้ มุ่งเน้น SMEs ผู้ผลิตเครื่องดื่มชาขนาดย่อมที่พบว่าต้องเผชิญกับอุปสรรคต่างๆ มากมายที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อการทำกำไรและการอยู่รอดของธุรกิจ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ด้านประสิทธิภาพในกระบวนการผลิต และต้นทุนการผลิต การศึกษาครั้งนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนานวัตกรรมกระบวนการผลิตสู่การจัดจำหน่ายที่มีประสิทธิภาพ ซึ่งเป็นการวิจัยแบบทดลองโดยทำการเก็บข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพและข้อมูลในกระบวนการผลิตของธุรกิจผู้ผลิตเครื่องดื่มชาพร้อมดื่มที่มีการฆ่าเชื้อเพื่อยืดอายุการเก็บรักษาขนาดย่อมจำนวน 3 บริษัทในพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑลเพื่อนำมาวิเคราะห์ตามแนวคิดลีนและบัญชีต้นทุนการไหลวัสดุและดำเนินการระบุปัญหาด้วยการระดมสมองจากการทำ Kaizen Workshop จากนั้นนำเสนอแนวทางแก้ไขโดยการจัดทำเครื่องมือตามหลักการ Standard Work และเครื่องควบคุมอุณหภูมิไร้สาย จากนั้น ผู้วิจัยดำเนินการทดสอบผลการปรับปรุงกระบวนการโดยพิจารณาการแก้ปัญหา 2 เรื่องคือระยะเวลาการทำงานรวมและต้นทุนการผลิตรวมและต้นทุนของเสียในกระบวนการ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าการทดสอบประสิทธิภาพเครื่องควบคุมอุณหภูมิสามารถควบคุมอุณหภูมิได้ตามเกณฑ์การทดสอบและผลการแก้ไขปัญหาในสายการผลิตทำให้ภายหลังการปรับปรุงสามารถลดระยะเวลากระบวนการผลิตรวมในบริษัท A, B และ C ได้ 21.4%, 21.9% และ 21.8% ตามลำดับและพบว่าสามารถลดต้นทุนของเสียในบริษัท A, B และ C ลงได้ 30.9%, 61.6% และ 34.3% ตามลำดับ จากนั้นนำเสนอนวัตกรรมผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เป็นแพลตฟอร์มสำหรับผู้ประกอบการในการใช้ควบคุมความสูญเสียภายในกระบวนการผลิต โดยผลการทดสอบกับผู้ใช้งานตัวอย่างจำนวน 30 คนซึ่งเป็นผู้ประกอบการ ผู้จัดการและหัวหน้างานในสายการผลิต พบว่านวัตกรรมผลิตภัณฑ์ดังกล่าวเป็นที่ยอมรับและมีความง่ายต่อการใช้งาน

Researchers have explored firms’ IT capability and its effects on business performance, yet the factors influencing the long-term retention of this capability have not been fully investigated. Therefore, our study examines what managerial and financial factors influence the retention of firms’ IT capability by utilizing survival analysis. The results show that IT executives’ managerial power does not contribute to retaining the firms’ IT capability. However, the change of IT managers can introduce fresh insights and expertise to an organization, enabling firms to maintain their IT capability, and the degree of retaining IT competency in firms can vary based on industry-specific …

This study determined the effectiveness of rosemary extract on the shelf life of ground beef patties under different retail display conditions. Ground beef patties were produced from an 85%:15% blend (lean:fat). Patties were formed from batches of control or amended with rosemary extract. Patties were individually packaged using overwrap. Groups were assigned into one of two lighting groups (3000K and 3500K). Patties were placed in a simulated retail display for 5 d under continuous lighting and rotated once a day. This dissertation comprises three distinct but interrelated projects that explore the intersection of agriculture, nutrition, and economics. The first project investigates the impact of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) food programs on the health outcomes of its participants. Using fixed effects models and a matching algorithm, the study finds that while conventional fixed effects models indicate a significant effect of CSA participation on diet-related medical expenditures, our modified time-heterogenous fixed effects model did not find a meaningful effect. The results of the matching method are consistent with those of our modified model.

This paper explores the strategies and practices of capturing climate risk premia for venture capital (VC) fund managers and entrepreneurs in the private cleantech sector. It also examines the impact of the feed-in tariffs (FITs) policy on the management of cleantech investments. It is shown that a longer investment period, less investment capital in cleantech investment management strategies, and optimistic climate risk management practices will help investors to better capture climate risk premia. There is no comprehensive financial privacy law that can protect consumers from a company’s collection sharing and selling of consumer data. The most recent federal financial privacy law, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (“GLBA”), was enacted by Congress over 20 years ago. Vast technological and financial changes have occurred since 1999, and financial privacy law is due for an upgrade.

Should brokers have the unfettered right to restrict investor trading? GameStop, a brick-and-mortar video game retailer, had been experiencing declining revenues since 2016. However, GameStop saw its share price climb almost 1000 percent in the span of a one- week period from January 21, 2021 to January 27, 2021 due to retail investors buying significant amounts of GameStop shares during that period. The Bankruptcy Code (“Code”) exists as a mechanism for good faith debtors to discharge debts and seek a “fresh start” in life and finance. 11 U.S.C. § 106(a) ensures that not only are all debtors treated uniformly, but that all creditors, including governmental creditors which may otherwise enjoy immunity from suit, are equally subject to the jurisdiction of Bankruptcy courts and bound to the provisions of the Code.

In order to facilitate fast, equitable, and effective sublicensing to University of Akron technology startups, spinoffs, and spinouts, an express license was developed. This expresses license was developed by benchmarking existing terms in order to determine market rates. Universities, venture capital firms, and nonprofits were interviewed in order to establish a set of best practice guidelines for the creation of the express license. These results were then tabulated and statistically analyzed in order to determine a series of startup friendly terms that support the University of Akron’s interests. Auditors face strong incentives to execute tasks efficiently and meet deadlines; these conditions are both conducive to – and rewarding of – implemental mindsets. However, an implemental mindset may deprioritize careful analysis and thoughtful decision-making, leading to suboptimal performance and audit quality. Conversely, deliberative mindsets promote critical thinking and open-mindedness – and research suggests auditors in a deliberative mindset perform complex tasks more effectively than auditors in an implemental mindset. Additionally, auditors encounter frequent reminders about the consequences of audit failures. Information security is a multilevel phenomenon with employee security decisions being influenced by macrolevel factors (e.g., organizational policies), mesolevel factors (e.g., one's immediate workgroup—IW), and microlevel factors (e.g., individual personalities). We argue that an employee's local IW (i.e., immediate supervisor and coworkers) has a strong effect on security. This paper focuses on the effects of these mesolevel factors in the presence of macro-and microlevel factors. Background:

Risk calculators are increasingly being used to promote cancer awareness and improve compliance with screening tests. Research concerning the effects of colorectal cancer (CRC) risk calculators on the intention to undergo CRC screening, however, has been limited. Some studies have shown lackluster impacts of CRC risk calculators, reporting that people tend to lower their risk perception after receiving personalized assessments from such calculators.
