Corruption And Reforms: A Dynamic Panel Data Study, Jeff Jacob

In a previously published paper we emperically showed that rather than democracy, a country's quality of institutions, like contract enforcement, have a statistically significant and positive impact on economic growth. During my sabbatical, I am working on a follow up paper in which is examining the effect of democracy on the control of corruption in a sample of more than 120 countries, spanning 40 years of data. Using GMM based dynamic longitudnal data analysis methods, we find that democratic quality, spesifically, the accumalted stock of democratic capital in a country has a sgnificant impact in reducing government corruption. A Reconciliatory Approach To Marketing: A Case Of The Marginalized, Mauvalyn Bowen

This paper integrates the use of Biblical principles in the discussion about marketing practices and shares a vision for ways that marketing can be reconciliatory and God-honoring. It further detailed some perspectives of how marketing may be considered in the context of the kingdom of God. An example of a case of “the marginalized” was presented to demonstrate the redemptive nature of marketing. The paper then concludes with a call for Christian educators to do some heavy lifting in presenting the discipline of marketing to students to empower them to be cupbearers and future shapers.

Using Private Equity To Acquire Multifamily Assets, Drew Whitson

In Spring of 2023 Endurus Capital, a Minnesota-based private equity real estate firm, raised approximately $10M of private investor funds to purchase a 94 unit townhome in Columbus, Ohio for $20M. The project focused on both the total capital stack (sourcing of debt and equity), investor projected return, as well as the use of funds for deferred maintenance and property improvements. Detailed information related around risk management and investments criteria will as be included as well as an overview on the multifamily asset class.

Servicescape Effects On Hotel Guests’ Willingness To Pay Premiums At Different Stages Of Pandemic: A Multi-Phase Study, Alei Fan, Sheryl F. Kline, Yiran Liu, Karen Byrd

Drawing on servicescape theory, this research investigates guests’ perceptions of and responses to the protection and prevention practices launched by hotels at different stages of the pandemic. The research finds that hotel guests’ general response-efficacy beliefs positively influence their perception of the effectiveness of the protection and prevention practices adopted in hotels’ physical and social servicescapes, and such positive relationships also show a significant increase from 2020 to 2021. The servicescape effects’ downstream results show that hotel guests are willing to pay premium prices for safety servicescapes manifested as protection and prevention practices implemented at the private space or related …

Knowledge Management Systems (KMSs) are a critical component of economic development and growth. The accumulation and effective utilization of knowledge capabilities allow firms to create value and improve competitiveness. However, recent technological advances in KMSs have outpaced research in this area, which continues to be siloed and characterized by a lack of cohesive frameworks and a limited focus on cognitive learning. This paper provides a conceptual framework for the development of cognitive KMSs. The proposed framework comprises of strategy, people, processes, learning, and technology that are designed to improve knowledge management and organizational memory.

This study aims to show the effects of contractual liability for breach of negotiation via electronic means of communication in Jordanian legislation. The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the field training course in raising the capabilities of students of media faculties in public and private Jordanian universities and qualifying them for the labor market. The results showed that the degree of students' commitment to attendance during the field training period in media institutions came to a "huge" degree, at a rate of (39.8%), while the degree of their benefit from field training came to a "medium" degree, at a rate of (29.2%). This paper is an essay on the differences between “formal” Western logic and Indian logical traditions and how the latter impacts present-day AI developments. Upon the colonization of India, Western philosophers often dismissed Indian logical constructs as being underdeveloped or clumsy. This research forecasts the gasoline price in U.S. and analyzes its managerial implications by means of both univariate and multivariate time series forecasting models. Gasoline price forecast is among the most difficulty time series variables during its importance to the economy and extremely volatile nature. The average regular gasoline price in U.S. reached $5.06 per gallon in the month of June 2022, as opposed to $3.41 at the beginning of 2022, a 48% increase. Many cybersecurity problems are caused by human error, which is a worry in the commercial sector. Due to their attitude towards cybersecurity, many employees in the firm do not work in a way that safeguards data. This study seeks to examine employees' cybersecurity attitudes with a focus on their work experience and exposure to cybersecurity threats. Data were gathered through a survey conducted in targeted business firms located in the Klang Valley area, Malaysia.
