This study by a team of faculty from the Joetta Di Bella and Fred C. Sautter III Center for Strategic Communication in the School of Communication and Media at Montclair State University shows that Guinness was the most-discussed brand on social media leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, and not just in the traditional ways people share how they drink the popular beer brand. The volume of social media conversations related to Guinness beer and St. Patrick’s Day saw a 25% increase. Most social chats exhibited a happy mood as evidenced by a 62% joyful sentiment.

When regional quarantine restrictions were rapidly implemented in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, knowledge workers were forced to vacate their traditional shared office spaces and transition to remote work environments. This unprecedented mass exodus from traditional in-person physical workplaces was facilitated by existing and new software and technology that allowed workers to remain connected and working. This phenomenological study explored the lived experiences and perceptions of knowledge workers who experienced this transition to a full-time remote work environment. Local income tax (LIT) has become an increasingly important resource for Indiana communities. Each year, many Indiana counties adopt new or reallocate existing LIT rates to meet ever-changing needs. The 2023 legislative session added additional LIT flexibility for jails, EMS, fire protection, courts, and other needs. Despite being one of the world’s primary producers, Indonesia faces challenges in increasing mango exports. The government has been promoting mango exports to boost economic growth in the agricultural sector. The purpose of this study is to identify opportunities and challenges that are associated with increasing mango exports from Indonesia. We conducted a qualitative assessment through in-depth interviews with 20 Indonesian mango exporters and government officials, to identify opportunities and challenges associated with increasing mango exports from Indonesia. Our findings reveal that the physical qualities demanded by export markets do not significantly differ from those required by modern domestic markets. …

Rapid recent growth in the popularity of electric bicycles (e-bikes) has captured the attention of transportation researchers and policymakers seeking safe, sustainable, and active alternatives to conventional transportation modes. This thesis presents an investigation of e-bike owners in North America, complementing previous efforts in 2013 and 2017, and suggests implications for North American transportation planning.

An online survey was distributed to e-bike owners in the United States and Canada through email outreach, purchase incentive programs, and social media. There is a lack of understanding of the fundamental relation between food and place and the attributes of the production and consumption of food experiences that collectively make a place a food tourism destination. This chapter explores how a food destination is characterised through a foodscape lens together with the local stakeholders’ and tourists’ viewpoints of commercialised food tourism activities in an emerging food tourism destination. The results reveal five attributes that shape a place as a food tourism destination. These attributes are: connection of food to culinary landscape; social interactions; food quality; price; and linkages between food and agriculture.

However, this shift presents a formidable challenge — the persistent and escalating threat of insider attacks. Reports estimating the cost per insider threat incident at over $15 million underscore the urgency for a broad and thorough approach encompassing prevention, mitigation, investigation and reporting mechanisms.

Purpose

This study examines whether different strategy archetypes deploy specific performance metrics to support their strategic goals and priorities. If so, does alignment of strategy and metrics positively impact organisational performance?

Design/methodology/approach

The conceptual framework and hypotheses are couched in Contingency Theory. The role of business strategy as a moderating variable is tested using MANOVA, followed by post hoc pairwise comparisons. The results are based on cross-sectional survey data from 372 manufacturing and service organisations in Italy.

Findings

The overall contingency effect of business strategy in selecting and deploying performance metrics and their effect on organisational performance is supported. …

In recent years, several publications and media outlets have highlighted how the skills and interests of autistic individuals may benefit organizations. However, there is scant empirical research on the topic. The present study's authors conducted a systematic review to find which potential employability skills, strengths, and interests of autistic individuals available research has highlighted. Data extraction methods identified 51 papers related to skills in this population. The skill sets autistic individuals may possess and the research behind these findings were organized, evaluated, and summarized. Based on these findings, investigators discuss implications for employment counseling and future research.

Creating a robust safety management system is crucial for fostering a culture of safety in the workplace, particularly in industries like manufacturing where improvements are still needed. This study aimed to assess the impact of safety behavior on safety culture within the manufacturing sector. Employing a quantitative approach, questionnaires were distributed to 342 employees in manufacturing firms during data collection. The collected data underwent analysis using Structural Equation Modeling through IBM-SPSS-AMOS 24.0 to test the proposed model. Copper demand will surge significantly in the context of global renewable energy technology implementation, but its production is an energy-intensive process. It is crucial to choose the best production method to reduce environmental damage in terms of the enormous copper supply. This research develops a multi-criteria life cycle assessment model for the three main copper production routes- pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, and bioleaching. We complied material and energy flow data to assess each route's life cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, cost, and resource efficiency. In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic prompted governments to respond by implementing social distancing regulations and travel bans. Although these actions helped mitigate the spread of the virus, they also created unique challenges for businesses and their employees. Firms transitioned quickly from face-to-face work settings to remote work arrangements using video conferencing technologies (VCT). These technologies enable video calls with or without instant messaging (chat) to facilitate information exchange.
