In 1981, the largest snowmobile manufacturer, Arctic Enterprises, Inc., makers of Arctic Cat snowmobiles, declared bankruptcy and eventually ceased operations. This case tells the story of the rebirth of Arctic Cat snowmobiles when twelve former Arctic Enterprises founders, executives, and employees launched the startup Arctco Inc. in 1983. These twelve men relied heavily on the five principles of effectual entrepreneurship, which were first articulated 20 years after the failure of Arctic Enterprises. The ten-year anniversary (!) of the CUNY Games Conference combines workshops, idea exchanges, interactive participant presentations, playtesting, and playing tabletop games into a two-day hybrid event to promote and discuss game-based learning. The conference focuses on creative pedagogy, such as playful learning activities or games, that teachers can use in the classroom every day. Day 1 featured interactive presentations by attendees, informal idea exchange sessions, and workshops by the conference organizers. Day 2 featured select presentations and workshops, poster sessions, playtesting and game modding, and casual play of tabletop games.

This research examines the concept that hedge funds generally offer diversification. The results from 26 years of monthly data on equity and hedge fund indices find that hedge fund strategies are heterogeneous as they offer varying benefits to investors. Some hedge fund strategies are highly correlated to equities and may offer an extension of a portfolio’s equity exposure during typical market environments; however, they may increase correlation risk and concentration risk during stressed market environments. Prior research has established the effectiveness of market segmentation strategy, and specifically the use of political ideology. Existing literature divides political ideology into two groups: liberal and conservative, despite over 40% of consumers self-identifying as independent. Researchers have indicated the need for consumer behavior studies about independents, but none yet appear to exist. This exploratory study attempted to address this by examining financial product consumer behavior of political independents, as measured by financial risk tolerance (FRT), for two products: mutual funds and bitcoin. Both certain rewards, which refer to incentives associated with a 100% probability of receipt, and uncertain rewards, which refer to incentives associated with probabilities of receipt that are less than 100%, are widely employed in marketing. Expected utility theory and prospect theory support the superiority of certain rewards over uncertain rewards. This research aims to investigate whether consumer aversion to uncertain rewards depends on the presence of consumer inference about firm immorality, which refers to the consumers’ belief that the firm could be engaging in unethical practices in promotions. The fine line between granting employee autonomy and inadvertently falling into patterns of neglect presents a complex challenge within organizational leadership. This study explores the question: What do leaders perceive as effective strategies for providing autonomy to remote employees without being perceived as neglecting them? Employee autonomy empowers employees to make decisions, while leader neglect towards subordinates (LNS) is defined through this research as a gradual decrease in a leader's interest or effort in sustaining positive relationships with employees. Rural hospitals offer a unique setting for this research, given their inherent geographic isolation, lack of resources, and the critical role these facilities play in their communities. For the fifth consecutive year, the all-land average value in Nebraska rose for the year ending February 1, 2024, averaging approximately 5% higher than the prior year. Figure 2 summarizes these figures and trends along with the percent changes over the preceding year’s all-land average for the eight districts in the state.

The statewide all-land average value for the year ending February 1, 2024, averaged $4,015 per acre, or about a 5% ($180 per acre) increase from the prior year’s value of $3,835 per acre. Rates of increase were the highest in the North and Northeast Districts, as these areas …

Entrepreneurship is often portrayed as a glamorous pursuit of success but conceals a darker side, exacerbated by impostorism, characterized by challenges, identity conflicts, and diminished well-being. This "dark side" of entrepreneurship is seldom explored due to our collective fascination with the central figure of the entrepreneur. Impostorism is a prevalent phenomenon among individuals who perceive that their role is beyond their capabilities and fear being exposed as a "fake." Neglecting an organization’s readiness for change may have far-reaching influence on the success of a change process. This study investigates two factors that impact organizational change success, leadership and job satisfaction. The aim of study is to examine the relationship between transformational leadership, job satisfaction, and change readiness in the Saudi petrochemical industry context. The results reveal that change readiness increases job satisfaction of employees when leaders apply the principles of transformational leadership. The findings have implications for HR practitioners in designing leadership development programs to ensure job satisfaction, better and desired outcomes from an organizational change program.
