This study aims to investigate the tail risk dependence of individual banks in Asian emerging markets. Using value at risk and conditional value at risk to measure tail risk and employing the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression to build the network, this study analysed interconnectedness at three levels: system-wide, country level and individual bank level. This study yields three key findings. First, banks in Asian emerging markets have a notably high tail risk network, particularly during more extreme market conditions. This study investigates the role of ERP implementation in improving business performance through supply chain integration, external supply chain integration, and flexibility. Academic studies on knowledge transfer and its efficiency are limited and very few have addressed this phenomenon at inter-organizational level particularly in a tourism destination context. Improving Volatility Forecasting: A Study Through Hybrid Deep Learning Methods With Wgan, Adel Hassan A. Gadhi, Shelton Peiris, David E. Allen

This paper examines the predictive ability of volatility in time series and investigates the effect of tradition learning methods blending with the Wasserstein generative adversarial network with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP). Using Brent crude oil returns price volatility and environmental temperature for the city of Sydney in Australia, we have shown that the corresponding forecasts have improved when combined with WGAN-GP models (i.e., ANN-(WGAN-GP), LSTM-ANN-(WGAN-GP) and BLSTM-ANN (WGAN-GP)). As a result, we conclude that incorporating with WGAN-GP will’ significantly improve the capabilities of volatility forecasting in standard econometric models and deep learning techniques.

Low consumer acceptance emerges as one important barrier to the introduction of cultivated meat, a novel food which offers an opportunity for more sustainable and ethical meat production. Due to the motives for impression management and self-esteem, one factor that could contribute to people's acceptance of cultivated meat is their perceptions of other individuals who consume cultivated meat. In the current research, two online survey studies with 393 Singaporean undergraduate students and 401 American adults were conducted to explore the perceptions of cultivated meat eaters. Dr. Amanda C. Sargent, Assistant Professor of Management at Bentley University, reviews the OpenStax textbook “Organizational Behavior” as well as “Organizational Behavior” on Libretexts. While both open-source texts cover a wide range of organizational behavior topics, Sargent concluded that the information in OpenStax’s “Organizational Behavior” was outdated and difficult to read in some sections. At the same time, Sargent notes that while Libretexts’ “Organizational Behavior” had some outdated references, it was a more suitable textbook selection for an introduction to Organizational Behavior.

Purpose: The study aims to investigate the impact of anxiety and depression (dimensions of mental health) on mineworkers' safety behaviors (safety compliance and safety participation) while examining the moderating role of safety climate on these relationships. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative research approach with an explanatory cross-sectional survey research design was adopted. A total of 274 purposively selected mineworkers participated in the study. Responses were obtained from participants through a structured questionnaire which was analyzed using the partial least square structural equation modeling. This article lays out the facts about the dental workforce situation in Virginia and offers potential solutions. The state's dental workforce is under pressure, with rising demand for dental assistants and hygienists and ongoing hiring challenges exacerbated by the pandemic. Despite having more dentists than the national average, rural areas still face shortages. The Virginia Dental Association (VDA) encourages members to support local dental programs, share their workforce challenges, and participate in advocacy efforts. The VDA is actively involved in finding both short-term and long-term solutions to meet the state's dental care needs.

Understanding Consumer Belief Of Locavorism On Food Consumption At Farmers’ Markets: Implications For Extension Professionals, Youngdeok Lee, Christopher Sneed, Michelle L. Childs

Using an intercept method at two local farmers’ markets (n= 192), this study found the notion that local foods taste better and are more nutritious (i.e., lionization) and the notion that buying locally supports and contributes to the local economy and community (i.e., communization), positively influences consumers’ attitude towards shopping at their local farmers’ market. This positive attitude subsequently influences consumer purchase behavior. Extension professionals can utilize these data-driven results to aid in effective farmers’ market promotion by communicating micro-benefits (e.g., nutrition, taste) and macro-benefits (e.g., economic impact) to potential and current farmers’ market consumers.

In response to ever-increasing pressure from stakeholders to reduce the impact of their operations and supply chain on the natural environment, firms frequently make public commitments to improve environmental performance. However, the commitments are difficult to validate and thus of unknown quality. Understanding whether and when the commitments are valid proxies for action is essential because they are used by environmentally conscious stakeholders to assess firm environmental performance in anticipation of buying from, investing in, working for, or selling to a firm. We create a modified duration function that is more accessible than Excel’s current Macaulay duration function (=DURATION) which requires several details about the bond.

The dollar duration and convexity functions are not currently available in Excel’s default functions. When these functions are copied to a second Excel file, the functions automatically become available as functions within the second file without the need for recreating the functions.

We provide instructions on how to implement the =LAMBDA function to more than just the creation of the bond application functions.
