A rural North Carolina community is experiencing an increase in inactivity, obesity, and comorbidities. The project leader collaborated with the local health department and recreation department to implement community walking events. The events aimed to promote physical activity while providing education to the residents as to why physical activity is important. The project leader used optional pre-walking event and post-walking event surveys to assess activity change and increased knowledge. Out of the 90 attendees, 68% completed the pre-event survey and 14% responded to the post-event survey. This created limited data available for follow-up. Sports officials play a significant role in organized sports, yet academic research surrounding their training, development, and performance is minimal. Across the nation, athletes are attempting to safely resume play after the COVID-19 pandemic, and many sports officials have decided that they will not return to their respective fields or courts. More robust training and development within intramural sports programs on college campuses could be the solution to recruiting and retaining sports officials.

Recreational marijuana was legalized for anyone over the age of 21 in Virginia in 2021. This research and policy brief explores evidence of the impact of such legalization on Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) usage in PK-12 aged youth, including smoking, vaping, edibles, and dabbing. Although research supports the feasibility and reliability of health-related physical fitness (HRPF) tests in typically developing children and adolescents, little is known regarding the feasibility and reliability of these tests for those with hearing impairments (HI). The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility and reliability of a HRPF test battery for children and adolescents with HI. A test–retest design with a one-week interval was conducted with 26 participants with HI (mean age: 12.7 ± 2.8 years; 9 male). Throughout this thesis, I will be discussing some of the pressure and stresses placed upon educators in the traditional school setting in America. Under an educational system that is about rigid routine and control, I examine the ill effects that come from a lack of creativity and autonomy. My overall goal throughout the thesis is to define what joy looks like for our students and staff. I conclude with a program proposal that links the concepts of free play, movement through wandering, and mental wellness to building a better community.

Social outcomes are the foundation of human relationships and many children with disabilities may display deficits in the necessary behaviors to form those connections. Previous literature shows that physical activity can be an effective intervention for children with disabilities to promote social outcomes through the three domains of learning – cognitive, psychomotor, and affective. This study aims to increase the duration of treadmill walking to reach moderate intensity levels for 2 students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The researcher incorporated a token-economy board that was used to indicate total time walking and walking goals. A single case changing-criterion design was used in this study and consisted of a baseline, multiple sub-criteria intervention phase, and a follow-up phase. Results showed that there was a positive relationship between the intervention and the total walking time for each participant. Each participant met the criterion for each phase, eventually leading to meeting their overall goal for the study. …

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบผลของพฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬาก่อนและหลังการทดลองของกลุ่มทดลอง 2) เปรียบเทียบผลของพฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬาระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมหลังการทดลอง กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 จำนวน 64 คน โรงเรียนในสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่สำนักการศึกษาเมืองพัทยา กระทรวงมหาดไทย แบ่งออกเป็น กลุ่มทดลอง จำนวน 32 คน และกลุ่มควบคุม จำนวน 32 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้พลศึกษาเชิงรุกตามแนวคิดอุดมการณ์โอลิมปิกที่มีต่อพฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬา จำนวน 8 แผน มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องรวมอยู่ระหว่าง 0.92 – 0.96 แบบวัดพฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬามีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องรวมอยู่ระหว่าง 0.80 – 1.00 ค่าความเที่ยง เท่ากับ 0.92 และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนน พฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬาโดยการทดสอบค่า “ที” ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนพฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬาของกลุ่มทดลองหลังการทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนพฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬาของกลุ่มทดลองหลังการทดลองสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 สรุปผลวิจัยได้ว่าการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้พลศึกษาเชิงรุกตามแนวคิดอุดมการโอลิมปิกสามารถพัฒนาพฤติกรรมความมีน้ำใจนักกีฬาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาได้

Asian Indian Americans (AIA) represent the least understood ethnic minority regarding sexual health practices in the United States and the fastest growing population among all Asian groups. Public health practitioners face gaps in understanding communication styles and perceptions concerning sexual and reproductive health within the AIA community. Current researchers strongly associate transparency and openness in parent-child relationships as attributable to better and healthier sexual attitudes and choices in young adults (Romo et al., 2011). การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีเพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนวิชาสุขศึกษาและทักษะการสร้างนวัตกรรมก่อนและหลังการทดลองของนักเรียนกลุ่มทดลองและของนักเรียนกลุ่มควบคุม 2) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนวิชาสุขศึกษาและทักษะการสร้างนวัตกรรมหลังการทดลองระหว่างนักเรียนกลุ่มทดลองกับนักเรียนกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2566 โรงเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษา จำนวน 60 คน ได้มาด้วยวิธีการสุ่มแบบแบ่งกลุ่ม แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้ด้วยการทำงาน 30 คน กลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติ 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้สุขศึกษาโดยใช้การเรียนรู้ด้วยการทำงาน จำนวน 8 แผน มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องรวม 0.99 และแบบวัดผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านความรู้ เจตคติ การปฏิบัติ และทักษะการสร้างนวัตกรรม มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้อง 0.91, 0.99, 0.95 และ 0.98 มีค่าความเที่ยง (Reliabilities) 0.81, 0.91, 0.86 และ 0.96 ระยะเวลาในการวิจัย 8 สัปดาห์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และทดสอบความแตกต่างของคะแนนเฉลี่ยของผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านความรู้ เจตคติ การปฏิบัติ และทักษะการสร้างนวัตกรรมด้วยค่าที ผลการวิจัย พบว่า1) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านความรู้ เจตคติ การปฏิบัติ และทักษะการสร้างนวัตกรรมของกลุ่มทดลองหลังการทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ส่วนค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านความรู้เจตคติการปฏิบัติและทักษะการสร้างนวัตกรรมของกลุ่มควบคุมหลังการทดลองไม่แตกต่างจากก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านความรู้ เจตคติ การปฏิบัติ และทักษะการสร้างนวัตกรรมหลังการทดลองของกลุ่มทดลองสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

The Tactical Versus Technical Paradigm: Scholarship On Teaching Games With A ‘Catch-22’, Adrian P. Turner

This chapter examines specific game-based and technique approaches that constituted the foci for experimental research attempting to test hypotheses concerning cause-and-effect relationships. Games teaching approaches, e.g., Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) and technique instruction, were manipulated and measured on criteria that included skill assessments, declarative and procedural knowledge, and game performance components. Research also contrasted off-the-ball offensive and defensive player movements. This method of experimental inquiry necessitated a meticulous approach; it required investigators to restrict threats to the internal validity of the research while simultaneously trying to protect the ecological validity. Teachers are tasked with supporting student learning and academic achievement. Teachers must establish social-emotional competence within themselves to support students' social-emotional learning. Increased teachers' social-emotional competence could lead to favorable student social, emotional, and academic outcomes. To effectively do so, school officials, parents, and community members should support teachers' social-emotional competence equally.

This study examined the relationship between Kentucky teachers' social-emotional competence, burnout, and school climate.
