When reviewing the literature relating to what instructors of qualitative research courses are teaching in their courses, we found a gap regarding qualitative faculty's motivations behind what they teach and whether they use teaching tools such as rubrics in their assessment practices. We utilized general qualitative methods to explore and describe how instructors of qualitative methodology courses conceptualize and design interview-based assessments. By conducting structured interviews with five faculty members, we embraced interpretivist descriptive traditions and sought to obtain thick, rich descriptions of each participant’s perspectives and experiences. Speech-language pathologists often report a lack of preparedness to provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) services, suggesting the need for improved graduate level training. Recent studies of AAC coursework offerings found 86% to 88% of programs offered AAC coursework, but these studies relied on survey methods with limited numbers of responses. This study examined AAC course offerings at 311 graduate programs using website and course catalog reviews, supplemented by direct contact with departments when dedicated AAC courses could not be found using online resources. Introduction

Communication between co-residents is a crucial component of success among ophthalmology resident physicians who are part of the same on-call team. However, opportunities to assess and hone communication skills during residency training are limited. We developed a novel pilot workshop to improve and assess communication and collaboration between ophthalmology trainees.

Methods

Two standardized patient scenarios were developed in which residents collaborated in a mock on-call team. Encounters took place in a simulated clinic space. Team members consisted of a PGY-2 resident, PGY-3 resident, and a faculty evaluator. A critical action checklist was used to assess learners during the encounters. …

The study investigates the factors influencing Thai parents’ decisions when selecting international schools in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. It examines how parents’ preferences for educational outcomes shape their choice among UK, US, or IB programs. Key findings reveal that dissatisfaction with Thai public schools drives many families to enroll their children in international schools. These institutions are valued for their supportive community atmosphere, opportunities for foreign college placements, and superior infrastructure. This exploratory case study examines the possibilities of creating generative, collaborative, intergenerational learning communities within a traditional public 6-12 school in the United States, as an antidote to the ideologies of adultism, systems of whiteness, and settler colonial logics. Photovoice is a qualitative research method often applied within participatory action research (PAR). Photovoice centers on the experiences and perspectives of its research participants, who capture photographs and develop narratives highlighting their communities’ strengths and concerns from their individual lens. Rural Canada is in decline, and as such has begun recruiting immigrants to rural areas to fill crucial labour gaps. This study explores the ways in which rural community colleges can best support immigrant women in Canada. Using narrative inquiry, it captures the voices of women who successfully completed programs in a rural community college in the prairies. The primary purpose of this action research study was to examine the impact of a school administrator–teacher coaching relationship on the professional practice of both the administrator and the teacher. Through a qualitative approach, the study followed the experiences of three coaching pairs (i.e., administrator/coach and teacher/coachee) as they engaged in a 6-week coaching cycle. Data were collected through interviews, weekly reflections, observations, and coaching logs.
