Communication pedagogy is the systematic study, reflection, and identification of teaching practices across communication course curricula that results ultimately in effective classroom instruction, gains in student learning, and the establishment of a supportive learning environment. Systematic study focuses on the teaching, the assessment, or the scholarship of teaching and learning of a specific communication course, extra-curricular activity (e.g., forensics), or curriculum (e.g., internships, concentrations/areas of emphases, undergraduate programs). Higher education is usually seen as serving the public good, especially when funded directly by the state, and because of the ‘social benefit efficiency gains and potential equity effects on opportunity and reduced inequality’ (McMahon, 2009, p. 255). Calhoun (2006, p. 19) argues that public support for higher education is only given and maintained according to its capacity, capability, and willingness, to ‘educate citizens in general, to share knowledge, to distribute it as widely as possible in accord with publically articulated purposes’.

When global rankings first appeared in 2003, rankings in general were little known despite the fact that collecting statistical information on individual academic institutions had begun by the U.S. Bureau of Education in the late 19th century (Snyder, 1993). Evidence-based practice enables rehabilitation therapists to provide the best quality of care and outcomes for patients. However, rehabilitation therapists are often not confident in using evidence in many settings.

In this descriptive research study, I identified industry-recognized workforce credentials that are or will be in high demand by employers operating in Virginia. I surveyed a targeted group of Virginia workforce development stakeholders including 17 Virginia Community College System workforce development leaders who represent each local community college, 47 Virginia local and regional economic development directors, and 11 Virginia Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act directors. Due to the economic disparity between rural and urban areas, I also examined the contrast between high-demand credentials needed by employers in rural and urban areas.

This quantitative study investigated faculty trust in their immediate supervisors (academic deans and faculty chairs) in a state college setting. A survey instrument created for this study was based on existing research on trust in schools by Bryk and Schneider (2002) and Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (1998), as well as research on trust in corporate setting. การวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ในการแก้ปัญหาการจัดการผลผลิตของกลุ่มเกษตรกรด้วยการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ กลุ่มเกษตรกรผู้ปลูกข้าวไรซ์เบอรี่ อำเภอนาดูน จังหวัดมหาสารคาม จำนวน 17 คน กระบวนการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการประกอบด้วย 4 ขั้นตอน คือ 1) การวางแผนเพื่อร่วมกันศึกษาปัญหาและวางแผนการแก้ปัญหา 2) การดำเนินการเพื่อร่วมกันลงมือปฏิบัติตามแผนที่ได้ร่วมกันออกแบบไว้ 3) การสังเกตเพื่อร่วมกันบันทึกข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับผลที่ได้ปฏิบัติ และ 4) การสะท้อนผลเพื่อร่วมกันสะท้อนผลการเรียนรู้ในการแก้ปัญหา โดยกลุ่มเกษตรกรเป็นผู้ใหญ่จึงต้องจัดกิจกรรมให้เหมาะสมกับการเรียนรู้ในวัยผู้ใหญ่ เพื่อส่งเสริมให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ในการแก้ปัญหาการจัดการผลผลิต เครื่องมือวิจัยที่ใช้ ได้แก่ แบบสัมภาษณ์ แบบบันทึกการประชุมกลุ่ม แบบบันทึกการสังเกต แบบวัดผลการเรียนรู้ และแบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจ และมีผลการวิจัยดังต่อไปนี้ ปัญหาหลักของกลุ่มเกษตรกร คือปัญหาด้านการจัดการผลผลิต โดยกลุ่มเกษตรกรร่วมกันเลือก 3 ปัญหาที่ต้องการแก้ไขมากที่สุด คือ 1) ปัญหาการตลาด โดยมีสาเหตุมาจากการขาดความรู้ด้านการตลาด แก้ปัญหาโดยวิธีการหาเครือข่าย สร้างไลน์กลุ่มเพื่อเป็นพื้นที่ในการขยายการตลาด ผลสำเร็จได้พื้นที่การตลาดเพิ่มขึ้นคือไลน์กลุ่ม 2) ปัญหาคนในพื้นที่ไม่นิยมรับประทาน โดยมีสาเหตุมาจากการที่คนในพื้นที่นิยมรับประทานข้าวเหนียวเป็นหลัก แก้ปัญหาโดยวิธีการแปรรูปผลิตภัณฑ์ข้าวไรซ์เบอรี่ เป็นไอศครีมและสบู่จากข้าวไรซ์เบอรี่ ผลสำเร็จได้ผลิตภัณฑ์แปรรูปจากข้าวไรซ์เบอรี่ และ 3) ปัญหาบรรจุภัณฑ์ไม่สวย โดยมีสาเหตุมาจาก การที่ขาดความรู้ในการทำบรรจุภัณฑ์ที่สวยงาม แก้ไขปัญหาโดยการเรียนรู้การทำบรรจุภัณฑ์และตราสัญลักษณ์ที่สวยงาม รวมถึงร่วมกันออกแบบบรรจุภัณฑ์และตราสัญลักษณ์ใหม่ ผลสำเร็จได้บรรจุภัณฑ์และตราสัญลักษณ์ที่สวยงาม ผลสะท้อนจากการปฏิบัติการวิจัย คือ กลุ่มเกษตรกรเกิดการเรียนรู้ในการแก้ปัญหาการจัดการผลผลิตของกลุ่มเกษตรกรจากการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ ประกอบด้วย 1) กลุ่มเกษตรกรสามารถระบุปัญหา และหาสาเหตุของปัญหาได้ 2) กลุ่มเกษตรกรสามารถวางแผนในการแก้ปัญหาได้เป็นอย่างดี 3) กลุ่มเกษตรกรสามารถปฏิบัติตามแผนงาน 4) กลุ่มเกษตรกรสามารถประเมินแนวทางการแก้ปัญหา สังเกต และปรับแก้แนวทางการแก้ปัญหาได้ และสะท้อนผลการเรียนรู้การแก้ปัญหาได้

Using Online Professional Development To Increase Self-Efficacy In School-Based Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Educators, Meghan Suman, Ingrid Provident

The purpose of this study was to determine if school-based occupational therapists who participated in a series of online professional development modules on the topic of fieldwork education reported increased feelings of self-efficacy regarding the ability to fulfill the role of fieldwork educator. In this single-group design, participants completed a series of six online professional development modules. Each module consisted of a narrated slideshow presentation, case study activity, and online discussion board. Participants completed a self-efficacy survey before and after completing the series of modules.
