This dissertation examined the effects of high school students’ independent, remedial, home-based math practice while receiving parent support on math computation fluency. The multi-component intervention package encompassed both home-based remedial practice and parent support. Teacher interviews, normative assessments, and a performance-deficit analysis were conducted to identify high-school students who displayed math academic skill deficits. Next, identification and analysis of individual skills (e.g., multiplication, division) to be targeted for intervention occurred for each participant included in the study. The purpose of this study is to examine dance/ movement therapy (DMT) sessions as a method of intervention, through observing with Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) and Kestenberg Movement Profile (KMP) and recording shifting mood states in participants living in a residential treatment center. The participants are adolescent female clients age 13-17 years old. Convenience sampling was used to select 204 educators throughout Jamaica with a modal age group of 31-40 years. The participants included educators and practitioners such as school counsellors in the Jamaican school system. Respondent scores on the School Violence Questionnaire and Research Protocol were used to provide the data for this study. The current study sought to determine if program type along with gender could predict the type of coping styles students are more likely to use. In order to gain more information on the current assessment practices of school psychologists in the state of Virginia, a survey was constructed that examined how rapport is established, how the assessment process is explained to students, and how assessment results are explained to students. Responses from 113 school psychologists indicated that rapport is an important part of the assessment process. There were commonalities in responses related to how rapport is established and the assessment process is explained to students. Surveyed school psychologists indicated that following up with students and informing them of assessment results is not a common practice.
