About 43,000 deaths a year result from binge drinking in youths at a cost of $24 billion in 2010 to the U.S. economy. The purpose of this quantitative dissertation was to examine the predictors of binge drinking in high school youths in a highly racial diverse community of Montgomery County, Maryland. Children exposed to secondhand smoke (SHS) are at risk of developing ear infections, asthma, wheezing, bronchitis, as well as retarded lung growth. Indoor smoking is the main source of children's exposure to SHS. Despite a downward trend in smoking, children from low income families, especially African American and Hispanic children, continue to be exposed to SHS at a higher rate than their wealthier counterparts. There are three boxes of 35mm slides, each arranged by historical category. The lids of the boxes have color coded diagrams to the slides.

The purpose of this cross-sectional correlational study was to evaluate the Future Generation mentoring program's effectiveness by examining the relationships between race and gender (independent variables) and youth progress (dependent variable). Succeed Together!) controlled 8-week peer-led stealth intervention on school connectedness and physical activity self-efficacy(PASE). Mindfulness is taking a preeminent role in today’s education system. In the current study the author explored how experienced MindBody Wellness instructors make sense of teaching children mindfulness. The methodology of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis combined with autoethnography was used to interview eight teachers from the United States and Australia teaching children mindfulness. In this article, the author discusses findings related to the theme of Being a Mindful Role Model. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) วิเคราะห์คุณลักษณะและผลิตชุดการสอนกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าออนไลน์ด้วยวิธีการเลียนแบบสำหรับผู้เรียนระดับชั้นต้นฉบับนำร่อง 2) พัฒนาชุดการสอนกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าออนไลน์ด้วยวิธีการเลียนแบบสำหรับผู้เรียนระดับชั้นต้นฉบับสมบูรณ์ การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยและพัฒนา โดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก กลุ่มผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ คือ ผู้สอน ผู้ผลิตสื่อ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านกีตาร์ไฟฟ้า และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการผลิตสื่อ ในประเด็น 1) แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับวิธีการสอนออนไลน์ 2) แนวคิดการผลิตสื่อ 3) แนวทางการพัฒนาชุดการสอนกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าออนไลน์ ใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ใช้การตีความและสร้างข้อสรุปแบบอุปนัย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ชุดการสอนออนไลน์ที่เหมาะสมในการให้ผู้เรียนได้ปฏิบัติตามควรมีส่วนประกอบที่สำคัญ 5 ประการ ดังนี้ 1) ด้านผู้สอน ใช้การแต่งกายและภาษาที่มีความสุภาพเป็นกันเอง 2) ด้านการสอน ใช้วิธีการสาธิตและการบรรยาย 3) ด้านเนื้อหาสาระ เน้นตามความสนใจของผู้เรียน โดยแบ่งออกเป็นเทคนิคการเล่นและทฤษฎีดนตรี 4) ด้านองค์ประกอบสื่อมัลติมีเดีย ควรมีองค์ประกอบทางภาพและเสียงที่มีความคมชัด มีการใช้กราฟิกช่วยเพิ่มความน่าสนใจ และ 5) ด้านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ เป็นเครื่องมือที่ทำหน้าที่ในการเชื่อมต่อระหว่างบุคคลที่มีความสนใจกับชุดการสอนที่ตรงความต้องการผู้เรียน สำหรับกระบวนการผลิตชุดการสอนฉบับนำร่องประกอบด้วย 3 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ ขั้นเตรียมการผลิต ขั้นการผลิตรายการ และขั้นหลังการผลิต 2. ในการพัฒนาชุดการสอนฉบับสมบูรณ์ได้ข้อค้นพบที่สำคัญว่า ผู้สอนควรให้ข้อสังเกตไว้ในขั้นนำ มีการยกตัวอย่างประกอบและสาธิตการเล่นไปพร้อมกับเมโทรโนม ควรสอดแทรกเนื้อหาเรื่องพื้นฐานที่มีความจำเป็นในการนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ไว้ในบทเพลงท่อนที่สอน ในการถ่ายทำควรใช้กล้องวิดีโออย่างน้อย 2 ตัว เพื่อให้ผู้เรียนเห็นทั้งมือซ้ายและมือขวาของผู้สอนได้อย่างชัดเจน

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการถ่ายทอดการประพันธ์เพลงไทยตามแนวทางของพันโทเสนาะ หลวงสุนทร ศิลปินแห่งชาติ สาขาศิลปะการแสดง (ดนตรีไทย) โดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากการศึกษาเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการตีความ สร้างข้อสรุปแบบอุปนัย และนำเสนอเป็นความเรียง ผลการวิจัยพบว่ากระบวนการถ่ายทอดการประพันธ์เพลงไทยตามแนวทางของพันโทเสนาะ หลวงสุนทร แบ่งออกเป็นด้าน ดังนี้ ด้านผู้สอน พันโทเสนาะ หลวงสุนทร กำเนิดในครอบครัวดนตรีไทยได้รับการถ่ายทอดดนตรีจากครูดนตรีที่เชี่ยวชาญ และมีประสบการณ์ดนตรีที่หลากหลาย ส่งผลให้พันโทเสนาะ หลวงสุนทร มีความเชี่ยวชาญดนตรีไทย การประพันธ์เพลงไทย และสามารถถ่ายทอดได้เป็นอย่างดียิ่ง ทำให้ให้ผู้เรียนมีการพัฒนาทักษะการประพันธ์เพลงไทยอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ พันโทเสนาะ หลวงสุนทร มีคุณลักษณะของครูที่ดีตรงตามพระราชดำรัสของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวรัชกาลที่ 9 คือ 1) มีปัญญาความรู้ดีในหลักวิชาอันถูกต้อง 2) ประพฤติดี มีความสุจริต เมตตากรุณา ปรารถนาดีต่อผู้อื่น และ 3) มีความสามารถที่จะเผื่อแผ่และถ่ายทอดความรู้ได้อย่างดี ด้านผู้เรียน ต้องมีพื้นฐานดนตรีไทยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการประพันธ์เพลงไทย และสามารถอ่านเขียนโน้ตแบบดนตรีตะวันตกได้ดี ด้านสาระมี 3 ส่วนดังนี้ 1) ความสำคัญและวัตถุประสงค์ของการประพันธ์เพลงไทย 2) ความรู้พื้นฐานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการประพันธ์เพลงไทย และ 3) แนวคิดการประพันธ์เพลงไทย คือ ประพันธ์ตามขนบแบบโบราณ ประพันธ์ตามแรงบันดาลใจ และประพันธ์ด้วยความคิดสร้างสรรค์ มีหลักการประพันธ์ 13 แบบดังนี้ (1) การประดิษฐ์มือฆ้องอิสระ (2) การประดิษฐ์ทางพื้น (3) การประดิษฐ์ทางกรอหรือบังคับทาง (4) การยึดลูกตก (5) การประดิษฐ์ทางเปลี่ยน (6) การยืดขยายตัดยุบ (7) การยืดยุบพร้อมเปลี่ยนทาง (8) การยืดทำนองเฉพาะลูกเท่าและลูกโยน (9) การประดิษฐ์ลูกล้อลูกขัดและลูกเหลื่อม (10) การประพันธ์เพลงในโครงสร้างหน้าทับสองไม้หรือหน้าทับทยอย (11) ประพันธ์เพลงให้เป็นเพลงสำเนียงภาษา (12) การใช้และการย้ายบันไดเสียง และ (13) การประพันธ์ทางเดี่ยว ด้านการสอน สอนด้วยวิธีการบรรยายควบคู่กับการให้ผู้เรียนฝึกปฏิบัติ มีเทคนิคการสอนกระตุ้นให้เกิดความคิดสร้างสรรค์ เน้นทักษะพิสัยด้วยการฝึกหัดการประพันธ์เพลงไทย โดยมีการประเมินผลก่อนเรียน ในระหว่างเรียน และหลังจากเรียนครบตามเนื้อหาสาระ ด้วยวิธีการแสดงผลงานเพลงที่ประพันธ์ขึ้นใหม่

This study investigated the design cognition and performance results of secondary and post-secondary engineering students while engaged in an engineering design task. Relationships between prototype performance and design cognition were highlighted to investigate potential links between cognitive processes and success on engineering design problems. Concurrent think-aloud protocols were collected from eight secondary and 12 post-secondary engineering students working individually to design, make, and evaluate a solution prototype to an engineering design task. The collected protocols were segmented and coded using a pre-established coding scheme. The results were then analyzed to compare the two participant groups and determine the relationships between …

The authors are investigating potential applications of adaptive comparative judgment (ACJ) across numerous environments and learning scenarios within the Purdue Polytechnic Institute as part of Purdue’s efforts to transform the undergraduate learning experience. Six courses or program areas were selected for the study, involving a wide variation in subjects, subject matter, and assessment artifacts. The authors anticipate that positive results from these pilot studies will encourage broader and deeper applications of ACJ in the Purdue Polytechnic, across Purdue University, and in other academic institutions. Results from these scenarios will be disseminated in future conferences and scholarly journals.
