Currently, educators are exposed to an increased environment of accountability, which prioritizes student academic achievement. That environment of accountability is reinforced by multiple pieces of legislation that also call attention to the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). Even with these federal mandates, educators are continuously overwhelmed implementing MTSS and often leverage distributed leadership practices such as school leadership teams to carry out school improvement tasks. Both distributed leadership practices and MTSS are directly impacted by the practices of formal leadership (i.e., principals). Two-dimensional (2D) materials show remarkable physical properties when compared to their bulk form. These are single layer materials where the atoms are covalently bonded to each other. Among the 2D materials, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have special consideration due to its unique electrical, optical and mechanical properties. These materials can be combined either vertically or laterally to form heterostructures and can be mixed to form alloys in order to expand the number of members in the 2D family. In turn optoelectrical properties can be tuned for better performances when develop for potential applications.

Investigation Of Students’ Understanding Of Light Matter Interactions In A Chemistry Context, Archer Harrold

Students’ have varying levels of understanding of light matter interactions in chemistry contexts. This study investigated students’ understanding through the use of semi-structured interviews and PhEt simulations of both the single slit and double slit experiments. Coding qualitative analysis and construct maps were used to assign students to specific levels of sophistication. It was found that students’ carry differing levels of understanding of light and light matter interactions where low level learners struggled to connect ideas in their explanations while high level learners had strong connections between their knowledge and explanations.

Pathogenic variants (PV) or likely pathogenic variants (LPV) in a cancer risk gene increase lifetime risks of developing cancer. National guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations on cancer risk management (CRM) strategies tailored to the cancer risks associated with PV/LPV in different genes. Emotional responses after learning of a PV/LPV have been studied as predictors of patient adherence to CRM, but less attention has been given to whether patients remember their actual genetic test results and the impact this may have on subsequent adherence to CRM. In the United States, 88.8% of pregnant patients utilize at least one medication during pregnancy. The lack of guidance on medication use and teratogen exposures during pregnancy can induce stress and impact decision-making about continuing or adding medication in pregnancy. Although previous research has evaluated changes in patient knowledge after exposure counseling, we are unaware of studies that examined emotional outcomes or the extent to which patients feel informed and empowered to make decisions related to medication use. Newly released tractor models are tested to ensure they meet advertising claims. This thesis utilizes tractor test data to analyze performance trends in tractors based upon their power take off (PTO) horsepower and fuel efficiency and it evaluates how the average fuel efficiency of tractors was affected by the introduction of emission standards by the United States Environmental Protection Agencies. In conclusion, tractors have shown continuous improvement and growth in both fuel efficiency and PTO horsepower, and emission standards have had a small, positive effect on tractors’ average fuel efficiency.

The enzyme polyphenol oxidase (PPO) is undesirable in most wheat products due to the discoloration it causes. Purifying wheat varieties through selective breeding is the best way at getting rid of PPO in a variety. The variety NW15443 was planted in both a field in McCook, NE, and in a greenhouse in Lincoln, NE. Individual heads were snapped from the field and the greenhouse seed was harvested in bulk. After completing a PPO test of the seed, it was determined that the percentages of off-type frequencies from the field seed and the greenhouse seed were 11% and 3.6%, respectively. Using …

This study analyzes the energy transfer mechanisms when nonlinear devices (stores) are attached to a linear model airplane. For that, a reduced-order model (ROM) was derived to simulate the first two flexible modes of vibration of the primary structure (aircraft) with one store in each wing. Each store can either be locked or unlocked. When locked, it only contributes as mass-effect, and when unlocked, it adds nonlinearity to the system. Simulations were then performed with either both stores locked, one store unlocked, or both stores unlocked. It was found that the attachment of nonlinear stores in the ROM changes the …

Its feminist themes and exploration of powerful emotions are just as relevant today as they were in Burgos’s lifetime. Translating these poems to English in the twenty-first century means a whole new generation of developing women will have access to Burgos’s words. Piccirillo recently discovered a process that can be applied to an unknotting number one knot to convert it into a different knot called a Piccirillo dual. Piccirillo duals have been shown to have the same n-trace and the same sliceness. However, exploration and knowledge of this process is limited. We were able to generate the Piccirillo duals for several low-crossing number knots. We offer the foundation for and explain how to follow the Piccirillo process and generate Piccirillo duals. This work is a brief report on the areas reached and the monetary value of the materials produced and distributed by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Hand Sanitizer Production Project in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This project was able to produce approximately 190,000 gallons of hand sanitizer, totaling a minimum commercial value of $15 million and an estimated peak commercial value of $166 million that would be distributed both in and out of the State of Nebraska.

As a supplement to previous research understanding the relationship of polyvictimization to delinquent behaviors, these analyze question the mediating role of PTSS between the two factors. A cascade model was used to understand the factors relationship, in which they influence each other independently and as a group. Therefore, it has been found that polyvictimization leads to an increase in the likelihood of delinquent behavior, PTSS was also expected to play a role in this cascade model. Analyzes found that PTSS does influence delinquency, yet not in each Wave of data.
