The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of eravacycline use, in comparison to best previously available therapy, in patients with drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii pneumonia.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many universities to expand the use of videoconferencing technology to continue academic coursework. This study examines dental students’ experience with videoconferencing technology, comfort levels, and perceptions of using videoconferencing technology.

Methods: 54 out of 100 second-year dental students enrolled in a course on local anesthesia, 54 completed a survey following an online synchronous lecture given in September 2020. Survey questions asked about prior experience with videoconferencing, comfort levels, and reasons for not turning on their video (showing their face).

Results: Overall, 48.2% had little or no prior experience with videoconferencing prior to March 2020. …

Background:

The CDC research actively continues gathering information related to short and long-term symptoms that remain following the acute phase of Covid-19 diagnosis (CDC, 2020).

Fatigue and shortness of breath are listed among the most commonly reported long-term symptoms of Covid-19:

1. Fatigue
2. Shortness of Breath
3. Cough
4. Joint Pain
5. Chest Pain (CDC, 2020).

Evidence suggests that older adults over the age of 60 who have multiple comorbidities are more susceptible and are at a higher risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus thus potentially prolonging recovery time post diagnosis (Greenhalgh, Knight, A’Court, Buxton, & Husain, 2020).

College campuses have been an area where the novel coronavirus has spread rapidly, thus this study is focused on compliance with COVID-19 related non-pharmaceutical interventions among college students.
We surveyed over 600 college students from across the United States and modeled predictors of compliance with non-pharmaceutical interventions. To determine how applicable nationwide modeling might be to individual local campuses we also administered this same survey to nearly 600 students at two large universities in Utah County (Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University). User-centered developmental processes are critical to ensuring acceptability of e-health behavioral interventions, and yet physical activity research continues to be inundated with top-down developmental approaches. The IDEAS (Integrate, Design, Assess, and Share) framework outlines a user-centered process for development of e-health interventions. The purpose of this manuscript is to describe the application of the IDEAS framework in adapting a web-based physical activity intervention for young adult college students. Steps 1–3 emphasized integrating insights from users and theory and Steps 4–7 focused on iterative and rapid design with user feedback. Repeated bout effect (RBE) describes a phenomenon that an initial unaccustomed eccentric exercise (ECC) bout can confer a protective effect against muscle damage from the subsequent same exercise. This protection has been observed in the same muscle, as well as the contralateral homologous (CL-RBE) muscle. But it is unknown whether the RBE is evident for non-local unrelated heterogonous muscles. The purpose of this study was to examine whether an initial elbow flexion (EF) muscle-damaging ECC could confer RBE against muscle damage from the subsequent ECC performed in the remote lower limb knee flexor (KF) muscle group. Students come to college in order to attain a degree that allows them to improve their quality of life (QOL) after graduating (Morris, 2017). However, the stressors associated with attending, including anxiety depression (Beiter et al., 2014), insomnia, and headaches (Caldwell et al., 2017), negatively impact their ability to be successful. It is then necessary for higher education institutions to address those issues by exploring and creating opportunities that can improve student QOL.
