الملخص:

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة العلاقة بين الذكاء الروحي والكفاءة الذاتية المدركة لدى طلبة التعليم الأساسي في جامعة الأزهر بغزة، ومعرفة إذا ما كانت الفروق في الذكاء الروحي والكفاءة الذاتية المدركة تُعزى لمتغيرات (الجنس، المستوى الدراسي). واتبع الباحثان في دراستهما المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (110) طالباً وطالبة تم اختيارهم بطريقة طبقية عشوائية. وتمثلت أدوات الدراسة في مقياس الذكاء الروحي من إعداد كينج (King, 2008) و"تعريب الباحثان"، ومقياس الكفاءة الذاتية المدركة (إعداد الباحثان).

The purpose of this project was to increase student access to Brigham Young University's ENGL 318R course by creating an online version of the in-person ENGL 318R course that would allow the professor to increase their capacity to teach by at least 25%. This course was originally not intended to be offered officially by the university, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this course was offered online and for credit during Spring term of 2020.

Aims

To determine whether an educational programme targeting the reaction of veterinary personnel to difficult client interactions reduced burden transfer, stress and burnout in veterinary staff.

Methods

Employees of three small-animal veterinary hospitals in the south-western United States of America were recruited and randomised to intervention (educational programme; n = 16) or control (no intervention; n = 18) groups. Participants of this randomised, parallel arms trial completed pre-programme assessment including the Burden Transfer Inventory (BTI), Perceived Stress Scale, and Copenhagen Burnout Inventory. هدفت الدراسة الحالية التعرف إلى الرضا الوظيفي لمعلمي غرف المصادر الخاصة بصعوبات التعلم في المدارس العادية، وعلاقته ببعض المتغيرات الديمغرافية في محافظة العاصمة عمان. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (45) معلمًا ومعلمة من مختلف مديريات التربية والتعليم بمحافظة العاصمة عمان. واستخدم الباحث مقياس الرضا الوظيفي لمعلمي غرف المصادر الخاصة بصعوبات التعلم في المدارس العادية من إعداده. وأظهرت النتائج أن نسبة الرضا الوظيفي الكلي لمعلمي غرف المصادر الخاصة بصعوبات التعلم في المدارس العادية بلغ(57.8%). وأظهرت الدراسة – أيضًا- أن درجة الرضا الوظيفي لدى معلمي غرف المصادر الخاصة بصعوبات التعلم في المدارس العادية تختلف باختلاف الجنس لصالح الإناث، وأنّ درجة الرضا الوظيفي …

This qualitative study investigated the acceptability of DOCS K-5, a behavior parenting program adapted for parents of elementary aged children. Despite proven efficacy in preventing maladaptive behaviors, parenting programs have historically suffered from low attendance and engagement. Participants (N = 13) attending the pilot DOCS K-5 program took part in six group interviews while enrolled in the program to examine the facilitators and barriers to attendance, perceived effectiveness, and collateral benefits received from participation in the program. Neuromyths, or misconceptions about the brain and learning that are rooted in scientific fact, have been documented among educators across various subject areas and educational levels throughout the world. The endorsement of neuromyths may affect the ability of educators to support the psychological needs of their students. The present study examined neuromyth endorsement and neuroscience literacy among pre-service educators, as well as their orientations toward autonomy-supportive or controlling motivational styles. This essay, a response to Elizabeth Blodgett Hall’s “The House of Education Needs Overhaul,” finds common ground in Hall’s depiction of the self-exploration of young students entering her new school and the findings of child and adolescent psychologist Erik Erikson’s identification of a particular point in youth development he dubbed a “psychosocial moratorium.” The author grounds these pioneers’ theories in the transformations he witnessed in students as former director of a Bard Early College program.

Multilingual and multicultural students face the challenge of understanding where their ethnic identity lies in learning. The education system in the United States lacks inclusivity in classrooms, continuing monocultural views and monolinguist ideals as the norm and encouraged in curriculum and standards (Flores, 2020). This dissertation study seeks to break cultural and linguistic ideologies to better understand the development of ethnic identity in three Latinx fourth-grade students by creating a digital story. Promoting changes in an organisation is never an easy task. Coping with changes is an individual process and affects our individual physical and psychological well-being. This study attempted to analyse how university reforms were experienced by academic staff. It is framed by Self-Determination Theory, according to which there are three basic psychological needs that affect all people: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. In summaries of “best practices” for pedagogy, one typically encounters enthusiastic advocacy for metacognition. Some researchers assert that the body of evidence supplied by decades of education studies indicates a clear pedagogical imperative: that if one wants their students to learn well, one must implement teaching practices that cultivate students’ metacognitive skills.

In this dissertation, I counter that education research does not impose such a mandate upon instructors. We lack sufficient and reliable evidence from studies that use the appropriate research design to validate the efficacy of metacognitive skill-building interventions (not just evaluate their relationship to learning outcomes). While cultural difference on self-construal are well-documented, how acculturation to a new cultural environment could change an individual’s self-construal remains under-explored. In this research, how tertiary education disciplines could be associated with the endorsement of self-construals which, in turn, affect students’ conflict management tendencies were explored. Study 1 revealed that across the United States and Singapore, college students from business and social science disciplines exhibited the trend of endorsing more independent and interdependent self-construal respectively, regardless of the different dominant self-construals in the two countries. Divining Structural Factors Related To Intervention Success Or Failure: Cultural Sexism Versus Other Macro-Level Factors, Blair T. Johnson, Christine M. Curley

This article provides commentary on a spatial meta-analysis published by Price and colleagues (2021); it provides valuable preliminary evidence that a dimension of cultural sexism can countervail efforts for psychotherapy to succeed in samples that focus on girls aged four to 18. Our own study reveals cultural sexism to be markedly associated with at least three macro-level factors: cultural tightness, historical slaveholding (and by implication racism), and sex education inclusiveness. The fact that cultural sexism can be so well predicted by these factors is additional evidence that cultural sexism is real, yet it also suggests caution in interpreting these effects …
