This collection of materials contains typewritten and handwritten notes, memos, informational booklets/pamphlets/leaflets, and other miscellaneous items. Most of the items relate to aesthetics, culture, charm, personal grooming, and etiquette, and were probably used by Alta Millican (1916-2001) to teach Freshman Orientation to co-eds at Jacksonville State in the 1940s-1950s. Dr. Millican ended her tenure at JSU in the 1980s as Dean of the College of Library Science and Instructional Media, but she was also a dorm matron, counselor, and a professor of Education earlier in her career.

This narrative inquiry explored the lived experiences of clinical nurse educators who taught at community colleges during the COVID-19 global pandemic, contributing to the growing body of literature about what nurses endured during the pandemic. The pandemic and the ensuing havoc it caused occurred when the profession faced significant staffing shortages. In the early months of 2020, when the virus was spreading rapidly, many states issued stay-at-home orders requiring nursing programs to pivot to remote learning platforms. The purpose of this study was to investigate the intricate relationship between generational cohorts and the efficacy of technology integration in the context of teacher burnout, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. As educators transitioned from virtual online instruction back to blended or traditional face-to-face learning environments, this study explored teachers’ sense of technological efficacy in adopting and integrating various technological strategies and its relationship with their experiences of burnout during these shifts. The purpose of the study was to conduct a phenomenological analysis of the experiences of elementary school teachers concerning multicultural education in an urban school district in Southern Virginia. The study aimed to explore and describe teachers' perceptions, beliefs, values, and attitudes regarding multicultural education and assess their preparedness to implement multicultural education practices in their classrooms. The research utilized a qualitative research design that involved in-depth interviews and observations with a purposive sample of 10 novice and experienced elementary teachers. Some students in beginning band programs struggle while learning to use their instruments to play unfamiliar music. Modern beginning instrumental method books, aimed at beginners, are based on the Orff Schulwerk Methodology. In this methodology, students learn to play their instrument by using well-known music selected from classical music, folk tunes, and the popular music of the day. However, many of these method books do not contain any current popular music to help teach the beginning band student. For over 15 years, the author taught at an after-school English Language Arts center. Initially emphasizing perfection, enthusiasm waned. A graduate course changed the author's views on writing, stressing personal reflections. Implementing this, students' perceptions shifted, using "commentarying" to foster understanding and engagement in discussions on topics such as racism.

In this hands-on, STEM integrated workshop, educators will explore the fascinating parallels between Earth's landscapes and the Martian surface to enhance their understanding of planetary geography. Through a progressive series of activities, participants will compare environments and landforms on Earth and Mars, using actual data from spacecraft orbiting Mars to collect evidence and construct conclusions about these terrestrial planets.
