This article will begin with a focus on the importance of providing quality feedback. Faculty providing constructive and detailed feedback serves as an important component for effective student learning and is beneficial towards student achievement (Debuse, Lawley, & Shibl, 2007; Higgins, Hartley, & Skelton, 2002). According to Wolsey (2008), the desired outcome of feedback is to provide communication between instructor and student, which promotes learning. Quality feedback is defined as providing students with clear assessment criteria that is not only timely, but encourages further learning (Brown & Glover, 2006).

The body of research on home-based education has expanded dramatically since the first studies and academic articles of the late 1970s that dealt with the modern homeschool movement. Numerous researchers have examined the academic achievement of home-educated children and youth, their social, emotional, and psychological development, and their success into adulthood, and various aspects of homeschool families in general. The purpose of this paper is not to highlight the diverse characteristics of leaders in higher education, but to focus on those united strengths that acknowledge followership. We therefore attempt a higher education leadership profile (see Table 2) encompassing the vital attributes (identified by participants in our empirical study). We regard this set of attributes as being at the heart of dealing with challenges in this millennium. Not only do leaders have to understand themselves and the higher education environment in which they operate, but the followers need to be equally aware of the superman/woman expectations demanded of leaders.

The study sought to answer these questions: How do the teaching strategies employed by Ghanaian initial teacher educators and the classroom ecology they create affects the thinking skills of pre-service teachers? The study employed a qualitative case study approach to investigate the problem at Akatakyiman Teacher Training College (a pseudonym) in Ghana.
