iii ABSTRACT The purpose of this research study was to analyze the role of school leaders in the implementation of co-teaching as an instructional model on teacher collaboration and academic outcomes for students with disabilities. Federal guidelines and provisions forged the increase of mainstreaming students with disabilities into the full inclusion setting. As a result, school administrators are increasingly implementing co-teaching as an instructional model to provide opportunities to access the general education curriculum while receiving special education supports and services in the full inclusion setting. This qualitative study explored the experiences of new student affairs professionals handling mental health issues among college students and how it may influence their job satisfaction. Kucirka’s (2017) model of navigating the faculty–student relationship in the context of student mental health issues provided the framework for this study. There were 15 diverse participants from Wellness University, a large public research institution in the southwest region of the United States, who engaged in semi-structured interviews to share their experience about working with distressed students and how it has impacted their job satisfaction. Principals of Lutheran Schools work in an environment that includes the leadership of a pastor or pastors. Principals and pastors often serve in Lutheran churches with schools as servant leaders. Within the framework of servant leadership (Greenleaf, 1997), this study focused on the experiences of five Lutheran school principals working with the pastors of their congregations. A case study approach was utilized to gather data through interviews of principals selected from Lutheran schools. The purpose of this causal-comparative, quantitative study was to compare the attendance of students with a Section 504 plan to their non-disabled peers, in School District A, located in central Virginia. A study of this nature is important, as attendance is a key indicator for student success and academic progress. Additionally, the Virginia Department of Education has recently established standards for accreditation based on school attendance. This study was designed to assess the extent by which an evidence-based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program influenced teachers’ perception of students’ behavior in a small and diverse PK – 8 school district in Westchester County, NY. Specifically, the researcher evaluated the Anchors of Emotional Intelligence and the RULER framework to determine its impact on school climate as viewed from the perspective of staff in the district. The study also examined the relationship between race and/or socioeconomic status and morning transportation mode choice to determine to what extent, if any, students from low socioeconomic backgrounds and minority populations are disproportionally affected by the district’s pupil transportation system.
