To study the influence of tunnel crossing construction on the existing tunnel structures, this paper took the overcrossing construction of the existing Chenba tunnel of Fuxia railway of Xingquan railway Lyugu No. 2 tunnel as the research project. By adopting the numerical simulation method of finite element, it studied the change rules of the displacement field and stress field of the existing tunnels affected by the overcrossing construction of the new tunnels. To improve the frost resistance of concrete pavement under fatigue load, this paper simulated the freeze-thaw damage of concrete pavement under vehicle load by indoor fatigue loading and alternating freeze-thaw cycling test. Meanwhile, it designed the bending tensile test to test the residual bending tensile strength of nano SiO2-modified pavement concrete after freezing and thawing, and adopted the mercury injection method to test the microscopic pore structures of concrete. To improve the early serviceability of emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixtures, this paper studied the effect of curing conditions on the mechanical strength and stability of emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixtures by conducting indoor tests. The results show that in the same test conditions, the indoor emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture can better characterize the serviceability of practical projects. Compared to the indoor specimen mixture, the stability and cleavage strength of field mixture core samples are increased by an average of 5.5% and 10.7% respectively. Considering the effect of the sand ratio and aggregate to binder ratio, this paper improved the traditional mix ratio design method-volumetric method, and investigated the influence of the sand ratio, aggregate to binder ratio, and maintenance method on the mechanical properties and permeability coefficient of pervious concrete based on the improved method. The results show that under the sand ratio of 15%, the compressive strength of concrete is significantly increased and the permeability is not affected. Waste rubber materials can be recycled to obtain rubber aggregates, which can be employed in cement concrete products. This paper carried out mechanical performance tests on ordinary concrete and rubber concrete (rubber substitution rate of 20%) with different fiber combinations (doped MS, co-doped PP, and mixed MS-PP), and mainly examined the slump, density, compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, split tensile strength, and rupture strength of the concrete. The results show that the relevant performance indexes decrease significantly after 20% of rubber aggregate is added to the concrete. By taking the high vertical sand barriers deployed on the top of the complex longitudinal sand ridges in the hinterland of Taklamakan Desert as the object, this paper investigated the sand protection effect from the long-term perspective on the basis of several years’ comparative observation. We studied the effects of leading-edge serrations on the flow dynamics developed over an owl wing model. Owls are predatory birds. Most owl species are nocturnal, with some active during the day. The nocturnal ones feature stealth capabilities that are partially attributed to their wing microfeatures. One of these microfeatures is small rigid combs (i.e. serrations) aligned at an angle with respect to the incoming flow located at the wings' leading-edge region of the primaries. Various graphite additives were incorporated into the positive battery paste composition to compare their effects on the positive active mass utilization of lead-acid batteries. The disclosure is related to battery paste composition for preparing a lead-acid battery plate comprising a graphite additive selected from the group consisting of globular natural graphite, natural flake graphite, expanded flake graphite, and combinations thereof. The disclosure is also related to a battery paste composition comprising a sodium polymethacrylate dispersant. Titanate nanofibers (TNFs) were synthesized using a hydrothermal method and were employed for the first time in this study to photocatalytically degrade organic pollutants found in flocculated liquid digestate of poultry litter. The photocatalytic performance of TNFs, with a bandgap of 3.16 eV, was tested based on degradation of organic pollutants and removal of color. Five combinations of pollutant concentration and pH were examined (0.2 to 1.3 g·L−1 at pH 4 to 10). Additive manufacturing techniques are being used more and more to perform the precise fabrication of engineering components with complex geometries. The heterogeneity of additively manufactured microstructures deteriorates the mechanical integrity of products. In this paper, we printed AISI 316L stainless steel using the additive manufacturing technique of laser metal deposition. Both single-phase and dual-phase substructures were formed in the grain interiors. Electron backscatter diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy indicate that Si, Mo, S, Cr were enriched, while Fe was depleted along the substructure boundaries. Combining terrestrial biomass with submarine-type hydrothermal environments for CO2 reduction is a possible approach for realizing new energies while achieving sustainable circulation of carbon. Herein, carbohydrateenabled CO2 reduction based on NaHCO3 conversion to formate revealed that hydrothermal environments facilitated direct hydrogen transfer from carbohydrates (glucose, cellulose) to CO2/NaHCO3 with hot water (250–300 °C, 5–20 MPa) acting as homogeneous catalyst in absence of any conventional catalysts giving CO2/ NaHCO3 reduction efficiencies as high as 76% for cellulose. The current high-performance permanent magnets (PMs) based on rare-earth (RE) elements Nd and Sm cannot escape the problem of raw material cost, geographic scarcity in the earth’s crust, and lack of circular global supply chains. Single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) based optical nanosensors have notably garnered interest due to the unique characteristics of their near-infrared fluorescence emission, including tissue transparency, photostability, and various chiralities with discrete absorption and fluorescence emission bands. The complex structural and chemical changes that occur during polymerization and pyrolysis critically affect material properties but are difficult to characterize in situ. This work presents a novel, experimentally validated methodology for modeling the complete polymerization and pyrolysis processes for phenolic resin using reactive molecular dynamics. The polymerization simulations produced polymerized structures with mass densities of 1.24 ± 0.01 g/cm3 and Young's moduli of 3.50 ± 0.64 GPa, which are in good agreement with experimental values. Many soft materials display unique and complex rheological behavior characterized by a transition from a solid-like to a fluid-like state upon the application of a force that exceeds the threshold to flow, known as the yield stress. This research focuses on the performance analysis and characterization of a fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) array, consisting of 10 first order FBGs inscribed by a femtosecond (FS) laser in a highly multimode coreless fiber. The study evaluates the FBG array's ability to function as a distributed thermal sensing (DTS) platform, with the coreless fiber chosen as the sensing element due to its immunity to dopant migration at high temperatures. The design of a large cascaded first-order FBG array effectively eliminates unwanted harmonic peaks across a wide spectrum range. Copper interconnects are essential to the functionality, performance, power efficiency, reliability, and fabrication yield of electronic devices. They are widely found in chips, packaging substrates and printed circuit boards, and are often produced by copper electroplating in an acidic aqueous solution. Organic additives play a decisive role in regulating copper deposition to fill microgrooves, and micro-vias to form fine lines and interlayer interconnects. In the field of metal-semiconductor composites based plasmon-mediated chemical reactions, a clear and in-depth understanding of charge transfer and recombination mechanisms is crucial for improving plasmonic photocatalytic efficiency. However, the plasmonic photocatalytic reactions at the solid-liquid interface of the electrochemical systems involve complex processes with multiple elementary steps, multiple time scales, and multiple controlling factors.
