Engineering technology students often forgo a methodical approach of solving or answering questions on assignments or exams in favor of an intuition-based approach, emphasizing educated guessing (Broberg et al., 2008). Faculty observations have noted these student solutions often provide explanations, usually sans calculations, to support answers the students believe to be reasonable when in reality deviated from the correct answer. An extensive study was developed to assess several distinctions between student intuition and use of cognition in problem solving, as related to a generalized student population. The Indonesian government has launched the Merdeka Teaching Platform (PMM) application with various features that support learning activities in the independent curriculum. One of them is the student assessment feature. This study aims to determine the use of assessment features in PMM. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with interview, documentation, and observation techniques. The results of the study show that PMM has positive benefits in helping educators carry out assessments. With the advent of technology and increasing cultural diversity, language teachers in higher education are encouraged to push current pedagogical boundaries in search of the best approaches to cultural learning. This study responds to this pedagogical pursuit by experimenting with the integration of team-based mobile learning (TBML) in extensive reading classes mediated by the mobile instant messaging application Telegram. The research findings statistically demonstrate that TBML can develop EFL readers’ intercultural knowledge and understanding. The technological and socioconstructivist affordances of TBML also enhance reading motivation as a springboard for developing intercultural communicative competence (ICC). This study aimed to enhance the elementary preservice teachers’ scientific literacy at Pelita Bangsa University by using flipped problem-based learning integrated with e-campus. This Classroom Action Research was done in three cycles and each cycle was conducted with planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 32 preservice teachers in the elementary teacher education program of Pelita Bangsa University in the academic year 2021-2022. Instruments and data collection techniques were observation, questionnaire, and test. The result of this study showed that the implementation of flipped problem-based learning integrated with e-campus improved elementary preservice teachers’ scientific literacy.

The literature study discusses the relationship between explanatory ability and Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) Task. The method used is a study of the literature related to explanatory ability and CLA Task, the literature studied from 2015 to 2022. The literature study results are CLA Task with an open-ended question, problem-based situations, and problem-solving can be used as an assessment of explanatory ability that consist of indicators for justifying procedures, state result, and present explanation. The achievement of the three indicators of explanatory ability that will be empowered with CLA Task needs the help of electronic module for media learning.

This study aims to investigate how online learning self-efficacy, self-regulated learning, and achievement motivation affect students' academic performance in online courses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study participants were students from the Office Administration Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Surabaya. We used structural equation modelling (SEM) to measure the direct and indirect effects of the structural model. The results show that online learning self-efficacy positively affects self-regulated learning, achievement motivation, and academic performance. However, self-regulated learning and achievement motivation do not affect academic performance, and also do not mediate the relationship between online learning self-efficacy and academic performance.

This study uses secondary data analysis of the 2018 TALIS-PISA link data combined with content analysis of policy and media artifacts to describe the relationship between teacher professionalization and working climate, self-efficacy, instruction, and mathematics achievement. In preliminary SEM models we identify three types of classroom instruction, Instruction Focused, Management Focused, and Comprehensive, based on a latent profile analysis of frequency of teacher behaviors. We also find that professionalization and working climate significantly predict teacher self-efficacy and instruction, but that instruction does not predict achievement when including school covariates. Publications and Research

The objective of this paper is to provide a pedagogical framework for the phenomenon of orbital decay of satellites in low Earth orbit. The dynamics of orbital decay are derived considering atmospheric drag as the only dissipative mechanism and using an educational approach suitable for undergraduate calculus-based physics and engineering courses. The resulting nonlinear first-order differential equation for the altitude as a function of time is solved numerically for the isothermal-barotropic atmospheric model with a fixed scale height. The model is validated using the uncontrolled reentry data of the Chinese space station Tiangong-1.

Biology instructors use concept assessments in their courses to gauge student understanding of important disciplinary ideas. Instructors can choose to administer concept assessments based on participation (i.e., lower stakes) or the correctness of responses (i.e., higher stakes), and students can complete the assessment in an in-class or out-of-class setting. Different administration conditions may affect how students engage with and perform on concept assessments, thus influencing how instructors should interpret the resulting scores. Women are severely underrepresented in computer science (CS) degrees and careers. While student interest is a key predictor of success, little is known about how elementary students from underserved groups, such as girls, develop their interest in CS. To address this issue, we examined the differences in attitudes between upper elementary girls and boys towards CS after participating in a yearlong, inquiry-based CS curriculum designed for diverse learners. Pre-and-post surveys on students’ attitudes towards CS (n = 108) were delivered before and after student participation in the curriculum.
