Pedagogy, Technology Acceptance, And Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Among Nursing Faculty, Rachel Ross

Integrating pedagogical and technological knowledge among faculty is crucial, especially within Florida state colleges’ Nursing (ADN) programs. I explored the impact of three decades of technological advancements on faculty's ability to incorporate technology into their teaching methods using a qualitative, exploratory design; I conducted semi-structured interviews via Microsoft Teams. The analysis of faculty perceptions, experiences, and challenges reveals a significant gap in pedagogical knowledge despite strong subject matter expertise, indicating underdeveloped instructional strategies and learner-centered pedagogies. Additionally, participants exhibited a diverse understanding of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, highlighting difficulties in effectively integrating technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge. …

West Nile Virus (WNV), a member of the Flaviviridae family and introduced to the Western hemisphere in 1999, presents a unique and emerging threat to human health. Infection in humans is often mild but can occasionally result in severe neurological impairment and even death. West Nile Virus non-structural protein 3 (NS3) plays an important role in the process of viral genome amplification. The mental health of physicians is a pressing issue that has received increasing attention in recent years. The alarmingly high suicide rates for physicians underscores the critical need to address the mental health challenges that doctors face. Physicians are exposed to stressors that are unique to their profession, including high-stakes decision making, long work hours, traumatic patient situations, and the emotional toll of patient care. Flavin is crucial in biological metabolism such as aerobic respiration and other important processes like oxygen activation that are catalyzed by flavin-dependent enzymes. (4). This study examines how Navy families in San Diego establish and use formal and informal networks to access educational resources for their children following relocation. Grounded in social capital theory, the research employed a multiple-case study approach, integrating data from interviews, focus groups, and digital analysis of Navy-affiliated social media platforms. The study explores how parents navigate these networks to promote their children’s academic success, with particular attention to key decision-making moments, resource negotiation, and equity considerations. This study investigated the impact of an academic recovery initiative implemented at a four-year public university to address the high attrition rates among first-year students not making satisfactory academic progress. The study employed quantitative methods to compare retention outcomes and academic progress between students who participated in the program and those who qualified but did not participate over a three-year time frame. Using archival data, including retention rates for both Fall and Spring semesters, cumulative grade point averages, and credit accumulation, the research also examined how demographic factors (race, gender, first-generation status, and Pell Grant eligibility) were associated with program …

Tiny insects are an extremely diverse set of organisms that have important engineering and economic applications. These organisms often fly and readily disperse distances that far exceed their body lengths. The mechanisms behind tiny insect flight are not well understood and present complex kinematics and unintuitive aerodynamics that depart from both fixed-winged mechanisms and larger insects. This study explores the Marakka' Bola tradition as an educational medium to instil character values in the youth of South Sulawesi. Employing a qualitative research approach, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The Marakka' Bola tradition, widely practised in Palakka Village, Barru District, embodies the values of unity, cooperation, and integrity. The findings reveal that the Marakka' Bola tradition is a significant cultural heritage of the Bugis community, recognised as an intangible cultural asset of Indonesia. This qualitative, phenomenological study aimed to better understand how and whether educators can maintain well-being during prolonged trauma. This study examines the experiences of Ukrainian educators living in non-occupied territories during wartime. The following research questions guided the study: What coping strategies do educators use to take care of themselves? What coping strategies do educators use with their students? How do educators perceive mindfulness and storytelling? The recent development of Raman spectroscopy as a powerful analytical tool for trace gas analysis owes much to not only advancements in modern optoelectronic tools but also to substantial research in enhancement techniques. Feedback-assisted, non-resonant, multipass cavity Raman spectroscopy stands out among various Raman enhancement methods. We effectively employed this technique to estimate the deuterium/hydrogen ratio in water vapor, to simultaneously identify and quantify multiple analytes, even at extremely low concentrations such as 20 parts-per-billion for methane (CH4), and to detect hydrogen (H2) at concentrations as low as 75 parts-per-billion. Music is a form of communication, whether expressing emotion, telling a story, or delivering information. Communication is widely used in music. This communication takes place by conveying ideas through the sound produced by performers. This form of musical communication cues the audience into the messages, information, and emotions the composers intended. However, when text or spoken word is implemented into music, how does this affect the communication, and how can this be analyzed? This paper explores the history of music and spoken word, explains applicable communication theories, and finally applies these theories to music with spoken word, emphasizing percussion.

This extended abstract highlights the role of the Food-Energy-Water (FEW) Nexus as a tool for fostering sustainability education and supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It emphasizes the integration of key sustainability competencies, such as systems thinking and problem-solving, within interdisciplinary environmental programs (IEPs). Drawing on literature and real-world examples, the abstract illustrates how the FEW Nexus serves as a framework to address complex global challenges by connecting content knowledge with actionable solutions. Additionally, it shares lessons from a collaborative manuscript involving over 20 authors, showcasing strategies to engage students in developing skills for transformative societal change.

This dissertation presents the findings of a study investigating the knowledge, ability, and willingness of faculty at a large university to accommodate students with disabilities (SWD). It reveals that while many instructors demonstrate a solid understanding of disability legislation, variations in knowledge and confidence exist based on demographic factors, particularly years of experience. Accommodations like extended time and distraction-free testing environments are more likely to be received positively by instructors and granted easily, while there needs to be more inclination to offer resource-intensive options like note-takers.
