Department of Occupational Therapy Entry-Level Capstone Projects

For older adults with fall risk or a history of falling, would novel fall prevention education reduce the fear of falling and enhance confidence in self to improve engagement in desired occupations? This capstone project was centered around answering that question. The setting this took place in is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital with the older adult patient population. Specifically, this includes stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, cardiac, orthopedic, and generally deconditioned patients. The proposed focus area being program development.

The purpose of this study was to summarize the main body, content, method and application effects of physical education curriculum evaluation, to understand the current situation of physical education curriculum evaluation in China, and to construct an evaluation index system based on teacher training professional certification. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of time management disposition on mobile phone addiction, explore the mediating role of self-esteem, and examine the differences between active and inactive college students in this mediating role. 887 college students participated in this study with valid measures. According to physical activity rating scale (PARS-3), students who met the recommendations of the World Health Organization's Global recommendations on physical activity for health were categorized into active groups while the others were inactive group. The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between the Physical Fitness of Chinese college students and their daily Running Habits (RH). A total of 718 college students from East China Normal University participated in this study (385 boys and 333 girls). Each participant participated in the Chinese Students’ Physical Fitness Test (CSPFT) during the 2018-2019 school year. In addition, each student was also required to use the APP to record all their running results during each run during the 2018-2019 school year. Australia F45 functional training is a high-intensity intermittent cycle training method, integrating life, interest, competitiveness and cooperation together. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of this training method on college students’ physical quality. 30 Participants from a university in southwest of China were recruited and were divided into two groups. This study was designed to explore factors and strategies to promote Chinese elders’ physical activity and cultivate healthy lifestyles. We collected the CHARLS survey 2011 baseline data, and selected 2647 cases of the elderly population in China. Based on the social ecosystem theory, the univariate analysis and ordered logistic regression were used. The model was analyzed for multivariate analysis.
