This South Carolina Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Records (SCAFCS) is a valuable source on Family and Consumer Science history in South Carolina during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The organization was known as the South Carolina Home Economics Association (SCHEA) from 1914 to 1995. Students’ Science Knowledge As A Constraint In Developing Interests In Science Studies Among Secondary School Learners In Tanzania, John F. Kalolo, Eugenia J. Kafanabo

Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences

The paper examines how students’ science knowledge is a constraint in developing interests in science studies. There are three objectives that guided the study on which this paper is based: examining student’s background knowledge about science and its related careers; assessing student’s awareness on science related professions; and examining the availability of various sources of science knowledge in schools for developing interest in science subjects in secondary schools. A total of 246 respondents participated in the study; and these included 60 teachers, 180 students and 6 heads of schools. A working definition of a concept known as ‘food literacy’ encompasses using basic food preparation knowledge that has been learned, understood, and practiced to make better food decisions. To advance these skills for client service, a post-secondary nutrition program would need to include objectives that allow application of knowledge. For this reason, the purpose of this study was to determine the difference in knowledge and application among students in 100, 200 and 400 level college nutrition course(s). Educational debt in the United States is a major concern as many young people enroll in undergraduate institutions beyond their financial means and the gap between the cost of an education and family income widens. Research suggests that an individual’s level of educational debt will have an effect on their financial future, but measuring the extent of damage incurred is much more difficult and needs further examination. This paper analyzes the relationship between the level of educational debt at graduation and time between graduation and home mortgage approval.
