The Impact Of Digital Transformation On Institutional Growth. A Case Of Zimbabwean Universities, Vusumuzi Maphosa

The pressure for institutions to digitally transform has been building, and COVID-19 accelerated the transition in developing countries. The study evaluated the impact of digital transformation on Zimbabwean universities. The Microsoft digital transformation framework guided the study. Thematic analysis was used to extract meaning and generate themes from qualitative data from university ICT Directors. Results show that digital transformation positively impacted institutional growth and efficiency. Most universities invest in digital technology to increase service reliability and availability. This research paper explores the strategic integration of social media platforms by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) beyond marketing. Drawing from Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capabilities theories, the study investigates how social media enhances management, coordination, and control functions. Through five diverse case studies from Ghana, findings reveal SMEs’ innovative use of platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, Slack, and Trello. These platforms foster efficient internal communication, customer engagement, project management, and talent acquisition. Challenges such as technical expertise and dynamic digital landscapes are identified.

This study aimed to identify the effect of a STEAM-based learning approach in teaching the subject of educational robots on creative thinking among eighth-grade students in Jordan. A purposive sample was selected and divided into two groups. An experimental group (n=33) studied in a STEAM-based learning approach, whereas the control group (n=31) studied in a traditional method. A pre-posttest of Torrance creative thinking was administered, and the data was analyzed using statistical methods to validate the study results, such as the MANCOVA test. Virtual reality (VR) can be adapted to teach many topics and may be particularly effective for complex concepts. However, little is known about teacher readiness on adopting VR in the classroom. Accordingly, 189 higher education teachers were surveyed to explore perceptions on adopting VR. Findings revealed the adoption of VR vectored on teachers perceived readiness confidence in technology skill and belief that VR has potential to benefit student learning. Academic librarians' professional skills make them an ideal candidate to work with faculty in the exploration, adoption, promotion, and preservation of open educational resources (OER). This study used the technology acceptance model (TAM) to explain and predict librarians' attitudes towards OER and their intentions towards utilization in instructional design practices and teaching pedagogies. A total of 213 academic librarians participated in the mixed-methods design study. The results reveal that perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), and self-efficacy (SE) as it relates to OER accounted for 51 % of the variance in librarians' attitude (AT) towards OER. With political tensions high and rising, instructors’ course materials are under scrutiny. Socially conscious instructors with little-to-no job security feel pressured to neutralize class discussions to avoid politically charged interactions. Although avoidance might minimize administrative scrutiny, it harms marginalized students by enacting and exacerbating rhetorical silences. I propose a discourse model that might help instructors to cultivate anti-complicit activist classrooms with minimal risk for political divisiveness. TikTok can also be an effective tool for accessible learning and rhetorical empowerment. Engaging students critically with recreational platforms could be a preventative means of diminishing the spread of disinformation.

Reading comprehension is an essential skill. It is unclear whether and to what degree typography and font personalization may impact reading comprehension in younger readers. With advancements in technology, it is now feasible to personalize digital reading formats in general technology tools, but this feature is not yet available for many educational tools.
