Pengaruh Pbl Dengan Scaffolding Prosedural Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi Ditinjau Dari Kemampuan Tinggi Dan Rendah Siswa, Feny Puspitaningsih, Wartono Wartono, Supriyono Koes Handayanto

This study aims to find out the effect of PBL with procedural scaffolding toward high-order thinking skills in terms of students' high and low ability. This research used non equivalent control group design with 34 students of experimental class and 35 students of control class. The hypothesis test of this study used Two-Way ANOVA and showed that the effect of PBL with procedural scaffolding was 42.5%, while the effect of students' initial ability was 37.9%. The mean posttest grade of the experimental class is higher than the control class, indicating that PBL with procedural scaffolding affects students' high-order thinking skill.

Problem-solving skills are important for students to cope with rapid changes in society and supported by technological advances. Problem-solving skills that students have especially in Newton's Law materials need to be improved so that it becomes like an expert problem solver. Therefore, SSCS problem solving research with CPS is done to determine its effect on problem solving skills. This research uses one group pretest-posttest design. The results showed that the learning model has an influence on problem-solving skills with strong effectiveness, but the improvement of problem solving skills is still low.

Background and Objectives: Although experiential avoidance has been shown to predict a wide range of mental health problems, there has been minimal research to-date on the more immediate effects of engaging in experiential avoidance in the moment or the moderators that predict when it is more or less harmful.

Methods: An ecological momentary assessment (EMA) study was conducted with 70 undergraduate students who completed assessments three times a day, over seven days as well as a baseline assessment of global questionnaires.

This paper presents an autoethnographic account of a classroom teacher’s experience transitioning to teaching online within the shifting culture of academe in the 21^st Century. After decades as a classroom teacher, the author engages in autoethnography to reflexively analyze her challenging transition to teaching online. The author examines her perspectives, beliefs, thought process, learning, and development. Findings regarding her new way of teaching, thinking, and living as an online instructor may provide insights for others in academe.

More and more students enter college in need of math remediation. Students in remedial math courses tend to report low self-efficacy, which negatively affects academic performance. To help low-achieving students succeed, researchers such as Dweck (2006) find that fostering a growth mindset increases self-efficacy and academic performance. The purpose of the present study was to explore the effects of a growth mindset intervention on the self-efficacy and performance of students in remedial math. For this dissertation, I tested whether Transformative Reminiscence Training is a viable alternative to facilitated life reviews for older adults. Facilitated life reviews involve structured reminiscence, which is designed to enhance the self-positive functions of identity consolidation, problem solving, and meaning-making death preparation (Korte, 2012). Transformative Reminiscence Training combines life review methods with consciousness raising. It is based on Paulo Freire’s critical theory (2000) and includes psychosocial, perspective transformation, and narrative identity life review education. Approximately 1.8% of students in the public school system have an intellectual disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder. These disabilities cause impairment in multiple domains of functioning. If these students also have challenging behaviors, such as noncompliance, aggression, and stereotypies, these behaviors have been found to cause impairment over and beyond those of the core symptoms associated with the disability. Challenging behaviors in youth with developmental disabilities do not typically subside on their own and need intervention. The purpose of this study was to examine the difference of self-reported emotional problems between low levels and high levels of victimization. Participants included 214 fourth and fifth grade students from a southcentral county in Kentucky. Students answered demographic questions and completed a series of surveys including the Personal Experiences Checklist and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. The study was completed via computer-based questionnaire and focused on victimization within the last month. Results show that students who reported higher levels of victimization reported higher levels of emotional problems when compared to students who reported lower levels of victimization. The current …
