The problem addressed in this study is that middle school teachers in Georgia Middle School Districts (GMSD, a pseudonym) face challenges integrating technology into their teaching. Guided by Mishra and Koehler’s technological pedagogical content knowledge framework, the purpose of this qualitative study was to explore teachers' perceptions of successes, challenges, and support needed to effectively integrate technology into their teaching at GMSD. For this basic qualitative design, semistructured interviews were conducted with 11 middle school teachers who were purposively selected by emailing all GMSD teachers. This study sought to investigate the role of school leadership and management in supporting teachers’ preparation and use of gender-responsive teaching and learning materials in pre and primary schools in Lindi region. The study employed a convergent research design within the framework of a mixed research approach. The findings revealed that, school leadership and management plays a significant role in supporting teachers’ preparation of gender-responsive schemes of work and lesson plans; significantly supports teachers in preparing gender-responsive teaching and learning aids; and significantly supports teachers’ preparation of gender-responsive lesson notes. Focusing on the Bank Street Principal Innovation Fellowship’s first cohort, this report examines how coaching supported principals as they implemented FutureReadyNYC, the district’s career-connected learning initiative. Through case studies of four principal-coach pairs, the report identifies an emerging leadership coaching model—including key principles, practices, and outcomes—that contributed to meaningful school-level progress and offers insights for school systems seeking to use coaching to strengthen principals’ capacity to lead complex change.

This book chapter explores reflection as a concrete practice of slow librarianship. The author discusses how developing a regular reflective practice as an academic librarian and technologist creates opportunities to be a more mindful, collaborative, and adaptive leader and team member. The chapter provides background on the reflective practice approach, discusses the connections to slow librarianship, and provides examples and recommendations for incorporating reflective practice in the library workplace. This case study examines the Global Leadership Laboratory (GLL), a yearlong high school leadership course at University Laboratory School in Hawaiʻi. The curriculum integrates transformative learning and contemplative practices to promote student voice, self-awareness, leadership skills, and personal agency. Through interviews, observations, and student artifacts, the study found that reflective journaling, dialogue, contemplative practices, and transformative learning activities supported the development of authentic student voice and perspective transformation, although outcomes varied by classroom conditions and student readiness.

This ethnographic study explored the relationship between State University Institutes (SUIs) and Ulama Dayah (Islamic scholars) as mutual co-existing beneficiaries in an Islamic educational organization in Aceh, Indonesia. While the relationship is characterized by a shared commitment to Islamic education, tensions simmer regarding leadership styles and the balance between tradition and modernity. This study explores the integration of social and emotional learning (SEL) in a number of British schools across Egypt, focusing on how school leaders defined and perceived its importance in student development. Through in-depth interviews with twelve school leaders, this study found that school leaders’ definitions of SEL emphasized self- awareness, self-regulation, and relationship-building, alongside a strong focus on the real-life applicability of SEL both within school settings and in students’ future lives. There has been considerable expansion in the availability of dual credit coursework, however, there is still a lack of understanding regarding how effective these programs are in equipping students for success in post-secondary education (Struhl & Vargas, 2012). This study used a mixed-methods approach to explore the relationships between various components of dual credit programs and the experiences of first-time undergraduate students. The results of a hierarchical multiple regression indicated a statistically significant relationship between the modality of dual credit coursework and students’ first-year undergraduate GPAs but not between the setting of the two factors. This qualitative, narrative research study explored the experiences lived by black female educators with chronic health conditions during and after the Covid-19 pandemic in the Southeastern region of the United States. These educators provided continued instruction in a central Jackson, Mississippi school district and a Georgia school district in the central Atlanta metropolitan area. The investigation during this body of work focused on how black female educators with chronic health conditions were impacted both personally and professionally.
