Art Education has seen many changes. One of the most recent changes in art education has been the step into online learning. The question I sought to answer was whether or not art education could be delivered in the same rigorous manner online as it can be in a traditional school setting. During the 2019 - 2020 school year, I started a position teaching for the Rural Virtual Academy, in which all instruction was delivered online. The Obama's unveiled their official portraits for the National Portrait Gallery in 2018, forever changing the presidential tone by being the first portraits of Black Americans in these roles but also because they selected two Black artists to depict them, Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald. As a White woman, secondary school art educator of diverse students, I witnessed this event as a significant moment in time. This study aims to find sexist language in the speech of female preachers through representation, interpretation, and forms of discrimination in the text. This study used a qualitative phenomenological research method and used critical discourse analysis by Faircloughn as supporting the data. The data shows that females speak more sexist if they talk to the same gender than a different gender. From this phenomenon, the impact on the use of vocabularies that license gender identity by using the terms marked, unmarked, and semantic derogation. This study investigated the commenters’ reading positions in an online news article’s comment column. The first theory that coined the reading position is Stuart Hall. Based on Hall's theory, there are three reading positions for the readers in interpreting a text. First is the dominant or hegemonic reading position that means the readers who fully share the text, receive, and then reproduce it. Second is the negotiated reading position; it means the readers who do not fully share the text yet generally receive it. This study aimed to describe the quality of translations results by Google Translate and Microsoft Translator in translating classical Arabic texts based on the translation of the book Matn Al-Ghāyah wat Taqrib by Faiz El Muttaqin by looking at three aspects in the target language; accuracy, acceptability, and readability. The data of this study were analyzed using comparative qualitative research methods. The results showed that Google Translate got a better score than Microsoft Translator. The meaning is not only lexical but also cultural; meaning which is associated with the civilization prevailing in that society. This research is a descriptive study using ethnolinguistic approach. Ethnolinguistic approach is used to uncover the meaning of the term patra deder which is related to local culture. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of discipline formats on student development and analyze if the practice of restorative justice can decrease the school to prison pipeline. Does criminalizing every discrepancy against the law create better law-abiding citizens? Is the zero-tolerance policy change an effective mechanism for school discipline? Do restorative justice practices reduce the school to prison pipeline? To investigate this, the infraction rates at various high schools have been observed in regard to their discipline practices to analyze the number of incidences that students incur and how they were managed.
