This study investigated research methodologies which were proven to be successful in promoting English fluency among ESL students in the college level classroom. The history of second language learning was tied to popular teaching practices, such as journal writing, dialogue journals, peer feedback, and teacher feedback. Due to a lack of cohesion between the above methods and a rising gap in related literature, an experiment was formed to determine whether dialogue journals could be combined with peer feedback to facilitate an accelerated comprehension of English as an L2 language. The Impact Of Attending An Equity-Based Conference On One Teacher Educator: Five Pedagogical Changes Of Practice, Rebecca Smith

This article is a reflective overview of five pedagogical practice changes that one teacher educator made after attending a multicultural education conference. The article integrates current research to highlight the educational benefits of innovative, equity-based instructional strategies. The pedagogical changes are explored through the theoretical lens of culturally relevant pedagogy (Ladson-Billings, 1995; Gay, 2010) and culturally sustaining pedagogy (Paris & Alim, 2017) and include: diversifying curriculum, engaging with community partners, collaborating with K-12 practitioners, innovative technology, and self-reflection.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนากระบวนการจัดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนบนฐานแนวคิดจิตตปัญญาศึกษาเพื่อเสริมสร้างเป้าหมายในชีวิต สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี 2) จัดทำข้อเสนอแนะในการนำกระบวนการจัดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนบนฐานแนวคิดจิตตปัญญาศึกษาเพื่อเสริมสร้างเป้าหมายในชีวิต สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ไปขยายผลสู่การปฏิบัติในพื้นที่อื่น ระเบียบวิธีที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ การวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ ซึ่งประกอบด้วย 4 ขั้นตอน ขั้นวางแผน ขั้นปฏิบัติ ขั้นสังเกตผล และขั้นการสะท้อนผล เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในงานวิจัย ได้แก่ 1.แบบบันทึกการจัดประชุมผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 2.ใบสมัครเข้าร่วมกระบวนการ 3.แบบสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก 4.แบบบันทึกภาคสนาม 5. แบบบันทึกการทบทวนหลังการจัดกิจกรรม 6.แบบรายงานตนเองของนักศึกษา 7.แบบสัมภาษณ์กลุ่ม และ 8.แผนปฏิบัติการการพัฒนากระบวนการจัดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนบนฐานแนวคิดจิตตปัญญาศึกษาเพื่อเสริมสร้างเป้าหมายในชีวิต สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ข้อค้นพบที่ได้จากการวิจัยตามวัตถุประสงค์ที่ 1 พบว่า กระบวนการจัดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนบนฐานแนวคิดจิตตปัญญาศึกษา เพื่อเสริมสร้างเป้าหมายในชีวิต สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี มี 4 องค์ประกอบดังนี้ 1. กระบวนการ 6 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ 1) การเตรียมผู้เรียน 2) การสร้างบรรยากาศที่เอื้อต่อการเรียนรู้และการวางแผนร่วมกัน 3) การวิเคราะห์ความต้องการในการเรียนรู้ เพื่อส่งเสริมเป้าหมายในชีวิต 4) การแปลงความต้องการในเรียนรู้ให้เป็นวัตถุประสงค์ และออกแบบประสบการณ์ในการเรียนรู้ 5) การลงมือปฏิบัติตามแผนการเรียนรู้ 6) การประเมินผลการเรียนรู้ 2. หลักการ 3 มีหลักการ ได้แก่ 1) การพากลับสู่ด้านใน 2) การเรียนรู้ร่วมกันด้วยความเมตตา 3) การเคารพประสบการณ์และความต้องการของผู้เรียน 3.เงื่อนไขที่ต้องมี 2 เงื่อนไข ได้แก่ 1) นักศึกษามีความตั้งใจที่จะพัฒนาตัวเอง 2) นักศึกษาสามารถจัดสรรเวลาเพื่อข้าร่วมกระบวนการได้ และ 4.ปัจจัยแห่งความสำเร็จ 5 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ 1) วิธีการเรียนรู้ที่หลากหลายและเข้าใจได้ง่าย 2) บรรยากาศการเรียนรู้ที่สบายใจ 3) ผู้จัดการเรียนรู้ที่เข้าใจและใส่ใจผู้เรียน 4) การให้กำลังใจกันระหว่างนักศึกษา 5) การเรียนรู้จากผู้มีประสบการณ์ และข้อค้นพบตามวัตถุประสงค์ที่ 2 พบว่า ข้อเสนอแนะในการนำกระบวนการจัดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนบนฐานแนวคิดจิตตปัญญาศึกษาเพื่อเสริมสร้างเป้าหมายในชีวิต สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ไปขยายผลสู่การปฏิบัติในพื้นที่อื่นได้นำเสนอ 6 ประเด็นได้แก่ …

Understanding the practical implications of work-based learning opportunities (WBLOs) is complex. Although WBLOs are not new learning environments, understanding and clearly defining them is increasingly necessary. In Kentucky, WBLOs are part of the political discourse in post-secondary education. The Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) and local/regional economic and workforce development agencies have incorporated strengthening and growing WBLOs into their strategic plans.

Actual And Self-Assessed Financial Literacy Among Employees Of A South African University, Gizelle D. Willows

This study examines the level of financial literacy and self-assessed financial literacy amongst members of a South African tertiary institution’s retirement fund. Based on surveys of the fund’s members, I employ descriptive statistics and multivariate regression analyses to examine differences in financial literacy within and across groups. The results show that, despite working for an employer implementing many best practices identified by financial literacy advocates, respondents from all demographic subgroups possess relatively low levels of financial knowledge. Men, White respondents, and those with a higher cost of employment or higher educational attainment were more likely to have a higher level …

In addition, searching Google finds more than 30 adjective-literacy or noun-literacy collocations, including quantitative literacy, adult literacy, and document literacy, that do not have Wikipedia pages of their own but are mentioned on other Wikipedia pages. The present study was a descriptive study that aimed to assess the attitude of postgraduate pediatric nursing students toward the academic integrity in their nursing learning experience. A convenient sample that consisted of 100 postgraduate pediatric nursing students enrolled in academic year (2016-2017) in both two semesters, 80 students enrolled in master program while 20 students enrolled in PhD program. This dissertation inquiry explores the narratives of two Black male nurses in southeast Georgia. The framework for my research includes a variety of different theoretical components including works from both major nursing and curriculum studies scholars. This study explored the experiences of part-time adjunct faculty members in a community college setting. It specifically looked at how adjuncts described: (1) their career journey to being adult educators, (2) their socialization experience, and (3) how teaching adult education influenced their perspective on teaching. All participants were experienced adjunct instructors in an adult basic and secondary education department (ABE/ASE) at a suburban community college. By looking at experienced adjunct instructors, the study informs practices to support both experienced and new part-time college faculty members.
