Researchers study impact of modified keto diet on diabetes

JOHNSON CITY (March 18, 2020) – Three faculty members from East Tennessee State University recently received a grant to study the impact of a modified ketogenic diet on individuals with Type 2 diabetes.

Given the level of outsourcing, supplier performance evaluation (SPE) is a critical supply chain process. SPEs are used to record supplier performance levels to inform future supplier selections, and thus mitigate the risk of adverse selection. Numerous weaknesses associated with industrial buyers' collection and use of supplier performance information call SPE effectiveness into question. The risk-related factors affecting SPE effectiveness have not been empirically explored, including misuses of the tool. This research identifies the factors affecting SPE risk mitigation effectiveness. It employs a mixed method of qualitative interviews of buyers and suppliers in order to develop a model of SPE …

JOHNSON CITY (March 12, 2020) – East Tennessee State University’s Dr. Gerardo Arceo-Gomez is taking his research on the organization of flowering plant communities a step further with the aid of a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

The project, titled “Uncovering the mechanisms driving co-flowering community assembly: Integrating flowering and floral trait distribution patterns via a novel use of network analysis,” has been funded for a three-year grant totaling $699,700.

ETSU punches ticket to Big Dance

The top-seeded Buccaneers defeated the seventh-seeded Wofford  Terriers 72-58 in Monday’s Southern Conference Championship at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville. The Bucs became the fourth team in the 100-year history of the SoCon to reach the 30-win mark after improving to 30-4 on the season. The Blue and Gold join Wofford (30-5, 2018-19), North Carolina (30-5, 1945-46) and North Carolina State (30-7, 1950-51) as the only teams to accomplish the feat. In addition, the Bucs’ eight SoCon tournament championships are now tied with North Carolina for the fourth-most in league history.
