For example, the explosive growth in tablet computers over the last few years has seemingly everyone embracing the new digital literacies without any real knowledge of the skills, strategies, and dispositions required to comprehend digital text. This paper explores the electability of women to higher office. It evaluates voter probability through studies that assess the effect of media attention to a candidate’s appearance. Furthermore, the paper studies the media coverage of Governor Sarah Palin’s campaign for Vice President. Finally, it includes an evaluation of Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s successful campaign for Prime Minister. Based on the case studies of voter probability, Sarah Palin and Margaret Thatcher, women do face many obstacles to political office, yet women are fully capable of overcoming these obstacles and we will see a woman leader in an executive position on …

This ethnographic study examined the experiences of key individuals involved in a senior leadership transition in the context of the church. Leader transition constitutes a significant aspect of organizational leadership theory, yet succession planning is often neglected in the context of churches. This study revealed that leadership transition is not a single event in the history of a church organization, but rather an evolution of events involving a multiplicity of factors and individuals. Increasingly, more women are attending college and earning their degrees than men. This qualitative case study examined the reasons why adult females decide to enroll in college to earn their bachelor’s degree. With multiple roles and responsibilities creating time constraints that stack the odds against the completion of their degree, many women experience delays as well as starts and stops in their educational journey over many years. During the last decade, community colleges have taken a close look at the way they educate and train students, and are using an assortment of student engagement indicators in an effort to assess and document learning outcomes of their students.
