The white paper on Business Models for Open Access proposes that there is no single ideal business model for Open Access that can be adopted as standard. This report, prepared by the staff of the Global Legal Research Directorate of the Law Library of Congress, surveys laws regulating the mandatory legal deposit of electronic materials. Fifteen countries representing different approaches to collecting, describing, preserving, and storing digital and non-print documents and providing access to them are included in the study. Altmetrics derived from Twitter have potential benefits for institutional repository (IR) stakeholders (faculty, students, administrators, and academic libraries) when metrics aggregators (Altmetric, Plum Analytics) are integrated with IRs. There is limited research on tweets mentioning works in IRs and how the results impact IR stakeholders, specifically libraries. In order to address this gap in the literature, the author conducted a content analysis of tweets tracked by a metrics aggregator (Plum X Metrics) in a Digital Commons IR. The study found that the majority of tweets were neutral in attitude, intended for a general audience, included no hashtags, and were written …

To support SJSU’s College of Science's efforts to identify and quantify science faculty research publications for fund disbursement, we compiled a bibliography of science faculty research and scholarship. The citation lists would be used to develop and formalize baseline research metrics. We used existing and available resources including librarian time, subscribed science databases, and the institution-subscribed reference citation manager.

In fall 2017, we initiated a migration of the University of Western Ontario’s 32 library-hosted journals from the bepress Digital Commons platform to the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. This was a response to concerns expressed by librarians and journal editors regarding potential implications of Elsevier’s August 2017 acquisition of bepress, including the possibility that Elsevier might place ads on their journal pages or increase fees for journal-hosting services. Our goal was to mitigate those concerns by ensuring that Western Libraries’ journal platform remained as open and community-driven as possible. Subject librarians at one of the largest public research institutions in the United States are tailoring workshops geared towards faculty to create awareness of predatory publishing. In June, 2015, Andrews University launched an institutional repository. Terry Dwain Robertson will tell the story of the first three years of the repository, concluding with a report on its global impact. Lawrence W. Onsager will discuss how the repository is, could, and should be leveraged to demonstrate the value of the library to the University, including branding, marketing, recruiting both faculty and students, fundraising, and more. Finally we will explore ways in which ASDAL libraries with repositories might collaborate to enhance and enrich the impact of Adventist education globally.

Scientometrics is an important field of information science as it represents a unique set of techniques and tools for the monitoring and analysis of information resources and for the management of knowledge in social and organizational contexts. This article analysed the various Scientometric components of the articles published by top six universities of Tamil Nadu from 2000-2017. The study identifies research trend, characteristics growth and collaboration pattern of published literature. Institutional Repository services require continuous, multi-channel promotion and support to attract and retain conferences, journals, and other campus collections. However, given the relative complexity of the services offered, balancing promotional messaging with a clear representation of repository offerings, policies, and procedures can be a challenge. Providing a flexible but robust marketing and support framework is especially important for institutions that rely on non-repository public services personnel to provide front-line promotion of repository services to faculty and administrators.
