The study investigated the factors that will lead to the enhancement of the availability and utilization of library information services among Social Science researchers in the Federal university libraries in south-south Nigeria. Two research questions were formulated to guide the study which employed descriptive research design. The study population comprised five hundred and fourty-six researchers of lecturers and postgraduate students. Census method was used to include the entire population considered manageable. There is no doubt that ICTs have altered the information management landscape globally. Although there have been recent improvements, the reality in underdeveloped countries like Nigeria has not been positive. The results of this study showed that librarians' use of ICTs for providing information services was significantly influenced by their attitude toward technology. When librarians have a good attitude, they are more likely to use the available ICTs efficiently. The study examined the level of Awareness and application of blockchain technology among librarians for effective service delivery in University Libraries in South-South, Nigeria. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. 643 Librarians in 10 federal and state-owned universities in South-South Nigeria made up the population of the study. 495 librarians were sampled using multistage sampling technique. The Value Of Belonging: A Comparison Of Professional Organizations' Membership Benefits, Laura Soito, Amy Jankowski

The abundance of library associations provides many choices to academic librarians about where and how to belong. This exploratory article identifies and compares benefits of library professional organizations through content analysis of the groups' websites. Examination of the benefits described on the websites of 76 organizations indicates that they have a high degree of overlap. Many benefits are also achievable by participating in other external professional activities. While data were collected just prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, thematic analysis of these benefits provides a framework for comparing the value of participation in formal and informal professional communities.

This paper examined the level of leadership and job performance of library personnel in University of Abuja, Nigeria. Survey research methodology was used with a total sample size of 202 library personnel in University of Abuja library using simple random sampling techniques. Data was collected mainly through questionnaire and analyzed using frequency distribution and descriptive statistics. The result revealed that the leadership of the University of Abuja library consulted his staff in taking decision at the same time a team player, friendly and provided mentorship to his subordinate. Most of the university academic activities heavily depend on electronic resources because they are easy to share, refer and communicate to the audience. This study investigates the awareness and usage of electronic information resources subscribed to by the university library. The well-designed online questionnaire helps to collect data from Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Integrated engineering programs. A total of 232 filled questionnaires were received for the study. An attempt was made to explore the usage of Web 2.0 applications and Social Networking Sites (SNS) for providing information services by libraries at selected higher education institutes in Europe, North and South America. The websites were surveyed through content analysis method that is used for a qualitative approach, as to find the details of the applications of Web 2.0 tools and SNS. The Ithaka S+R Library Survey has examined leadership and strategic perspectives in the field by surveying library deans and directors nationally on a triennial basis since 2010. The research project’s overarching goals are to provide the library community with a valuable data source to inform decision making and track the emerging opportunities and challenges leaders face in steering their organizations. In fall 2022, we surveyed library leaders at not-for-profit four-year academic institutions across the United States, with a response rate of 42 percent based on 612 responses.

We investigate the interplay between open access (OA), coauthorship, and international research collaboration. Although previous research has dealt with these factors separately, there is a knowledge gap in how these interact within a single data set. The data includes all Scopus-indexed journal articles published over 11 years (2009–2019) where at least one of the authors has an affiliation to a United Arab Emirates institution (30,400 articles in total).
