While Friedrich Nietzsche and Walter Benjamin both acknowledged that tragedy and trauerspiel are two different genres, they had contrasting elucidation of the characteristics and significances of trauerspiel. According to Nietzsche, trauerspiel was an unsuccessful mimesis of tragedy. However; Benjamin saw in trauerspiel a kind of special value. This difference was a result of their different understandings of the concept of ursprung. Nietzsche considered ursprung as an attempt to integrate Apollonian and Dionysian spirits, while Benjamin presented the structure of ursprung as a destructing force against monolithic sovereignty. This case study examines the professional development of one Chinese language teacher that works in a high school in the United States. Tandem language learning is important in enhancing learners’ language proficiency and fostering cultural knowledge. However, learners’ perspectives on tandem learning programs have received little attention, and no research exists concerning learners’ perspectives on long-term tandem language learning. Based on an anonymous online survey, this article examines how learners perceive a face-to-face tandem Chinese language partner program after participation for three years. The results indicate that, whereas the participants acknowledge the benefits of the participation of the language partner program, they identify challenges regarding logistics and task design. The implications of the findings are also discussed.

This study scrutinizes the Chinese characters in two reference works compiled as part of two projects: the Graded list and the EBCL list. Situated in the character-based theory, the characters compiled in both are examined in depth from the perspective of character complexity, character structure, semantic and phonetic radical transparency, frequency of character and frequency of word formation. The results show that the two lists share similarities in terms of distribution of characters of different structures, level of semantic radical transparency, and frequencies of character and word formation. This article addresses conflicts over local beliefs in both discourse and practice in contemporary China, especially in the process of protecting local beliefs as China’s national intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in the twenty-first century. These local beliefs were stigmatized as “feudal superstitions” in revolution- ary China and were revived in public since the reform era started in 1978. With influence from UNESCO, the project to protect ICH has spread all over China since 2004, and many local beliefs are promoted as China’s national ICH. 也斯與葉輝寫過大量關於城市的書寫，關注度也很高，然而他們的自然書寫則鮮有人去討論、分析，及至本土的自然書寫也出現同樣情況。其實，本土的自然書寫並非新奇事，早在三十年代，就有人以生物學的角度描寫香港的自然，歷史不比城市文學短。

自然書寫作為一種對土地和生態的記錄，其中蘊藏著有與城市共同，也有與城市不同的意識，故此本文首先會將本土自然書寫的發展脈絡梳理，再以吳明益揉合外國理論所得，對於自然書寫的準則分析香港自然書寫的發展方向，再透過香港的「浮城」觀，解讀兩代作家在自然書寫中展露的傾向，最後就藉這個傾向，來看浮城的未來。

The question of possible moral conflict between commitment to family and to impartiality is particularly relevant to traditional Confucian thought, given the importance of familial bonds in that tradition. Classical Confucian ethics also appears to lack any developed theoretical commitment to impartiality as a regulative ideal and a standpoint for ethical judgment, or to universal equality. The Confucian prioritizing of family has prompted criticism of Confucian ethics, and doubts about its continuing relevance in China and beyond. 小說主要描述成長於傳統家庭的年輕人靜兒面對爺爺死亡的心理變化與成長。她的家人自其從小就紛爭不斷，她的愛恨分明與敏感的性格使其成長後盡量逃離家人。如成長後，她選擇在大學宿舍安然度過幾年光陰，更一度去了外國交流。而在其往外國交流前，爺爺在家附近的街市罹難。家人出於傳統的死亡禁忌，以及想保護孩子不被傷害的本意，再也禁止提及有關爺爺死亡的事。在道教儀式下舉行的葬禮，同時令靜兒感到衝擊，對爺爺感到陌生。有關他的死亡很快地發生，又很快地以這樣的方式完結，她感到可怕。這一切致使靜兒不能面對他的死亡，把爺爺從生活的記憶裡抹除。然而她經常出現自己遇車禍的輕度妄想，也不斷質疑自己的冷血。在男朋友的陪伴和影響下，她嘗試主動面對爺爺的死亡，在未來的生命中不斷發掘爺爺真實的樣子。同時，當她接受了曾經傷害她的爺爺，她認為自己也能面對到其他家人。最後她回家去，看見滿有瑕疵家人也有軟弱的一面，她的心態開始變化，不再逃避。

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has received plaudits from international press and organizations for their handling of the COVID-19 crisis, with some describing it as a win for China in terms of propaganda. In this essay, I explore an alternative view: That the CCP is responsible for the origin and extent of the pandemic, and that much of their perceived altruism is carefully disguised opportunism and propaganda. Facts are drawn from scholarly work and the popular press to support my arguments. This essay carries strong implications for interpretation of recent events.

女性聲音在中國古代詩詞文學中，無疑是相對稀有卻不容忽視的一部份。女性在古代中國的時代背景中，一直處於男尊女卑的壓迫之下，她們的視野和話語都與男性存在著較大的差異，這使她們的作品中反映出與普遍男性文學不一樣的筆觸、情感、甚至世界觀，具有重要的研究價值。

宋代女詩人朱淑真以斷腸詩詞聞名於世，素來對其作品的討論和批評皆以當中數量最多的愛情詩詞為主。然而，朱淑真詩詞的題材遠不止於情愛感傷，她作為古代女性跳脫傳統框架，以超前的眼界關心當時社會人情同時，也表現出她的廣闊胸懷和獨立自主的個性。本論文的目的是透過分析朱淑真的詩詞，關注其愛情與非愛情題材兩類作品中的主體情感關懷，研究斷腸詩詞如何體現出她對生命的體悟以及精神層面的追求，擴大對其作品的觀照和評論範圍，嘗試對詩人本身的成就作出較全面、豐富的解讀。

春秋既是禮樂崩壞的紛亂時代，亦是個重建社會秩序，充滿無限可能的時代。在後世森嚴的道德規條下，婦女爲人處事或以三從四德一言蔽之，而春秋時期的女性在相對自由的社會狀態下有更多可塑性。從《春秋》敘事書法可見君子以及世人對當時人事的看法，左傳所釋《春秋》書法更時有獨立評論，由此可窺探當時的婦女之義。本文以「春秋婦女之義」爲題，從《春秋》、《春秋左傳》、《春秋公羊傳》及《春秋穀梁傳》之敘事筆法，微言大義爲對象，以宋伯姬、息媯、秦穆姬爲例，管窺當時婦女之義。

《春秋》及其三傳記錄不少婦女事蹟，通過對不同事件的記載與否、事件剪裁及評論等，所表現的故事不同，呈現出的婦女之義亦有異同。《春秋》、《公羊》、《穀梁》都把焦點集中在婦女自身的言行是否合禮儀，以顯示其婦義。而《左傳》則重視後果，以大局爲重，當中可見其欲婦女求生，而非倡其殉節而死。因爲婦女顧全大局行事比起捨生取義更難得。一死了之容易，能堅守婦義及帶來正面的政治影響較難。縱婦女當以守禮全節爲婦義，然而大是大非前當竭力倡揚正道，這是《左傳》中特別的婦女之義。其通過着筆局勢大事，呈現婦女對政局的影響，更看重婦女與時事的聯繫以及影響。因此，《左傳》體現之婦義之標準和內涵更廣闊多樣。

《悟空傳》是一本由網絡作家今何在於二千年寫成，共二十章的中短篇網絡小說，作品面世後隨即因其風格突破創新而廣受讀者青睞。二零零一年正式出版成書，後來經歷多次加印再版，並被改編成由郭子健執導的同名電影《悟空傳》，可見此作的文學價值和地位廣受認可。電影二零一七年上映至今，原著小說《悟空傳》亦因而受到更多的目光注視，研究此作及改編電影的論文漫山遍野，惟那些論題多集中探討《悟空傳》電影及小說之異同，鮮少論及原著小説《悟空傳》本身的文學價值，而在各大論壇上提及小說《悟空傳》的文章則只是簡單概述小說內容、將人物故事線分開陳述或單單對情節安排作出猜測，猜測內容的同時並無引用任何學說或理論以加強合理性，引致其中某些猜測顯得異想天開，故這類文章只能顯示《悟空傳》一書受到大眾熱烈的討論，並不算是正式的研究。

有見及此，本論文將從兩個方向入手分析小說《悟空傳》的反抗意識，首先指出孫悟空一角於前文本及現文本中反抗形象之流變，再從英雄形象及二心（妄心與本心）角度說明《悟空傳》對前文本的顛覆，然後從現文本與現實的關係著手，印證小說提出對神佛崇拜及社會的再思考，以證《悟空傳》文學價值之所在。
