Based on neural mechanism of the brain, Professor S. Zeki, known as the "father of neuroaesthetics", has made much research on human vision, aesthetic experience, aesthetic judgment, and the relationship between aesthetics and human perception, like that of color, form, and motion. This article analyzes Zeki's research on aesthetic experience and expounds how Zeki, through brain fMRI (functional magnetic resonance) scan, discovered that aesthetic experience can activate certain area of brain – A1 region of the medial orbitofrontal cortex (mOFC). This article aims to reveal the great influence of Schopenhauer's aesthetic thought on early Nietzsche's metaphysics of art. Firstly, in terms of typology of art, early Nietzsche uses the framework of the Apollonian art/Dionysian art for the binary division of artistic types. Such binary division is the result of direct appropriation of Schopenhauer's artistic dichotomy. The bronze bell in the Shang Dynasty had no name, which was why it has been called Rao (铙) by many scholars and Rong (庸) by others. From the viewpoint of the evolution of bronze bells, Rao was related more to Ling (铃) in the Xia Dynasty, and later Rao became Rong in the Shang Dynasty and finally Bianzhong (编钟) in the Western Zhou Dynasty. Represented by Martin Heidegger and Hans-Georg Gadamer, phenomenology and hermeneutics turn to listening and advocate the auditory culture, but some postmodernists like Marshall Mcluhan and Jacques Derrida turn to touching and advocate tactile culture. Temporality is the key to Schiller's aesthetics and aesthetic education, which should be elucidated. Schiller believes that temporality must be followed in order to give a clear account of the fundamental differences between the perceptual impulse and the rational impulse in terms of their composition. He argues that the game impulse, which is of narrow temporality, cannot have far foresight, that the rational impulse as maxims, ethical norms and religious gods can negate time, and that temporality is by no means a tertiary criterion independent of the other two impulses. With the introduction of analytic philosophy in general and the analysis of everyday language in particular into studies of literary theory, illocution has become a widely accepted theoretical resource therein. As literary theories, the trauma theory and the performativity theory are interrelated in that performativity is the process of trauma representation and trauma is the object of performativity. Trauma does not preexist, but becomes one. The performativity of cultural trauma is the means by which trauma discourse is constructed. Through an exploration of the performativity of cultural trauma and of the construction of trauma discourse, this article sorts out and examines the two literary theories in question and their critical paradigms.
