This action research study, set in a midwestern high school in the United States, was designed to investigate the impact of implementing equitable grading practices in a first semester freshman biology course. Many grading practices commonly used in classrooms in the United States are subjective, can be used to maintain compliance in the classroom, and do not accurately report what students know and can do. Ideas from Critical Race Theory and Bandura’s Self-Efficacy Theory guided this study. Mathematical justifications offer an approach to which students deepen and extend their mathematical thinking. This process has the potential to enhance students’ conceptual understanding. Mathematical practices and process standards ask students to use critical thinking skills to justify their reasoning, but this is usually seen as proofs in high school geometry. The primary purpose of this action research study was to examine the impact of a school administrator–teacher coaching relationship on the professional practice of both the administrator and the teacher. Through a qualitative approach, the study followed the experiences of three coaching pairs (i.e., administrator/coach and teacher/coachee) as they engaged in a 6-week coaching cycle. Data were collected through interviews, weekly reflections, observations, and coaching logs. Results revealed teachers value professional learning opportunities that prioritize their individual needs as practitioners and give them access to educators who demonstrate expertise related to that need. Rural Canada is in decline, and as such has begun recruiting immigrants to rural areas to fill crucial labour gaps. This study explores the ways in which rural community colleges can best support immigrant women in Canada. Using narrative inquiry, it captures the voices of women who successfully completed programs in a rural community college in the prairies. The study reveals best practices in supporting immigrant women and highlights the importance of creating programming that is tailored to student needs to ensure success.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using the writing processes on improving the performance of ninth grade students in some writing skills. To answer the questions of the study, a 175 ninth grade students was selected, A strategy based on writing processes approach, and a writing test were implemented. This quantitative, quasi-experimental study investigated the differences in self-concept among sixth-grade students across various school subjects, particularly reading and mathematics, by comparing those engaged in project-based learning versus traditional learning. In rural eastern Virginia, the researcher utilized a modified version of the Self Description Questionnaire-I (SDQ-I) and a nonequivalent control group, pre/posttest design with analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) during the 2023–2024 academic year.
