A Bibliometric Analysis Of The Teacher Leadership Scholarship, Hui-Ling Wendy Pan, Peter Wiens, Abigail Moyal
Teaching and Learning Faculty Research
Research reviews contribute to understanding the evolution and trends of studies and guide future studies. Since no science mapping was provided to reveal the citation patterns and the research structure of teacher leadership (TL), we conducted a bibliometric review of 704 documents (1964e2021) in Scopus. We found that the academic area as a social field within which authors using English as a working language were more vocal. Meanwhile, university ranking rendered the swift advancement of international visibility in Asian scholars this decade. Additionally, we portrayed influential authors and documents in TL and the intellectual structure and topical foci of TL.

An Exploration Of Trained Reading Recovery Teachers' Perceptions About The Program And Subsequent Influences On Select Teachers' Views Of Reading Instruction, Ellen Brupbacher Daugherty
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
As a foundational learning skill set, reading acquisition is the basis on which all other formal educational knowledge is built. In the state of Louisiana, 42.3% (2022) of first graders are not reading on grade level, therefore providing targeted intervention by highly trained teachers is crucial for accelerating student progress. Considering the paucity of research on the impact of Reading Recovery® (RR) training on teachers’ capacity to teach, as well as my personal experience, the purpose of this phenomenologically informed case study was to explore the perceptions of RR training and subsequent influences on teaching pedagogical practices. This qualitative study …

ADVANCE Reports
This report outlines four overarching issues that the COVID-19 pandemic raised or amplified for faculty, based on a survey of full-time faculty on the main campus of the University of New Mexico in Spring 2022. Some of the issues identified existed before the pandemic, which further exacerbated challenges and inequities. Results based on faculty gender, race/ethnicity, and job title are provided.
The report contains multiple recommendations for each of the four core issues that will assist individual faculty and improve campus climate and culture. Recommendations are often applicable to multiple issues, so we provide an appendix that cross-lists recommendations between …

School leadership and school leaders' behaviors and practices can significantly affect the behavior of teachers. Retaining teachers in the teaching profession is important. Unfortunately, many teachers around the world have left or are deciding to leave this profession, a phenomenon called “teacher turnover”. High teacher turnover affects the overall quality of teaching and learning. Based on 2015 data from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, teacher turnover is high in the United Arab Emirates. There are many factors that contribute to teacher turnover. This study investigated the factors affecting teachers' turnover by exploring the role of school leadership behaviors …

Educational institutes around the world and vocational training institutes, in particular, are concerned with students’ participation and enrollment rates. Great emphasis is placed on the vocational sector and its role in establishing a knowledge-based economy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as articulated in the UAE Vision 2021, its economic foresight 2030, and in the recent 50th-anniversary statement released in 2019 by HH Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum. The importance of this sector is its significance in diversifying the economy, providing employment, and equipping both employed and unemployed nationals with the vocational skills required by local and international markets and industries. …

This dissertation is concerned with school principals who often come across adversities and hardships that challenge their strength and flexibility and impose immense pressure on them. Some of them break; others cope or overcome the adversities. The main objective of this dissertation is to explain why school leaders thrive in the face of their pressing mediating roles whereas others may not even survive within the UAE context. The socially embedded model of thriving at work is adapted to explain the relationship between the thriving level and five variables that could influence and mediate the relationship: the internal factors of resilience, …

The Relatioship Between Principals’ Leadership Behaviors And Teachers’ Innovative Work Behavior., Ameera Ahmed Almessabi
Dissertations
This research was conducted to explore the influence of school principals’ leadership behaviors on their teachers’ Innovative Work Behavior (IWB). This study was guided by path–goal theory. It seeks to identify leadership behaviors that may enhance teachers’ IWB. This work also employs a mixed-methods approach, using a convergent parallel design that involves collecting quantitative and qualitative data in parallel. These data were then analyzed separately before being merged. Questionnaires were used to test the prediction of path–goal theory, that is, that the relationship between principals’ behaviors and teachers’ innovation, as perceived by teachers, will influence their IWB. This research follows …
