Organizational power politics permeates all actions within an organization. Power is one person’s ability to exert change on another person’s way of life and actions. Using power is a valuable means to influence and achieve intended desires and future action in others. Power is instrumental; it’s a means to achieve goals other than the attainment of power itself. Background

The Central Appalachian region of the United States is in the midst of a hepatitis C virus epi- demic driven by injection of opioids, particularly heroin, with contaminated syringes. In response to this epidemic, several needle exchange programs (NEP) have opened to pro- vide clean needles and other supplies and services to people who inject drugs (PWID). How- ever, no studies have investigated the barriers and facilitators to implementing, operating, and expanding NEPs in less populous areas of the United States.

Comparing Two-Year Colleges Under A Common Sustainable Development Framework: Personal Egocentric Networks And Perspectives, Bobby Ann Lee

The study purpose is to advance implementation of sustainable development at colleges, and to contribute to organizational change research using social network analysis. The researcher conducted document analysis using 2012-2016 sustainability reports of 16 purposefully selected two-year colleges under a common framework. Interpreting and coding resulted in ranking sustainable development activities as well as grouping colleges using cluster analysis. A survey and interviews were employed by the researcher to determine major themes as challenges to sustainability implementation, and personal network themes using social network analysis measures and sociograms. In today' s environment, one way to retain people is to have fully engaged employees. A correlation study was conducted to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and employee engagement among Social Security Administration (SSA) employees. The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) is a tool that measures employees' perceptions their agencies. Pre-existing data was collected from the FEVS provided by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
