Botanical therapeutics possess a unique potential in the treatment of viral diseases. The pharmacological base and clinical use of botanical therapeutics have been extensively reviewed. The mode of action(s) may be built either on the direct interference with the virus's ability to enter human cells, virus replication, or exerting immune-modulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. The adjuvant treatment with botanical therapeutics has the potential to result in advances in symptom resolution, decrease in disease burden and shortening its duration.

Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in widespread morbidity and mortality with the consequences expected to be felt for many years. Significant variation exists in the care even of similar patients with COVID-19, including treatment practices within and between institutions. Outcome measures vary among clinical trials on the same therapies. Understanding which therapies are of most value is not possible unless consensus can be reached on which outcomes are most important to measure. Background:

The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines may help control the current pandemic but would require immunization levels that would achieve herd immunity. This study aimed to quantify current COVID-19 vaccine acceptance rates, as well as characterize the determinants, enablers and barriers to vaccine acceptability across the globe by synthesizing published evidence.

Methods:

A systematic review and meta-analysis of studies was performed on studies assessing the acceptability of a COVID-19 vaccine published between November 1^st, 2019, and November 30^th, 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic, instigated by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, continues to plague the globe. The SARS-CoV-2 main protease, or M^pro, is a promising target for development of novel antiviral therapeutics. Previous X-ray crystal structures of M^pro were obtained at cryogenic temperature or room temperature only. Here we report a series of high-resolution crystal structures of unliganded M^pro across multiple temperatures from cryogenic to physiological, and another at high humidity. We interrogate these datasets with parsimonious multiconformer models, multi-copy ensemble models, and isomorphous difference density maps. Importance: Bradyarrhythmia during COVID19 illness carries prognostic significance. Electrophysiological side effects of COVID19 vaccine remain largely unknown. It is imperative to report nature of cardiovascular side effects of the vaccine.
Case presentation: An 80 years-old-man presented with complains of dizziness, trepidation and shortness of breath following his first shot of COVID-19 BBIBP-CorV (Sino-pharm). ECG on arrival showed 2:1 atrioventricular block with an underlying old left bundle branch block. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) poses a major global threat to human beings, which has caused devastating consequences of population health, political, and economic crises in many countries. This dissertation was composed of three research activities to study the following aims: (1) review the existing literature focusing on political factors and health outcomes of COVID-19; (2) assess the relationship between democracy and case fatality rate of COVID-19 by controlling for the effect of age, comorbidity, health expenditure, healthcare workforce, and population density; and (3) identify the trajectory pattern cases peak days, deaths peak days, and peak periods.

Rasmussen aneurysm is rare diagnosis occurring in patients with long-standing tuberculosis. TB-COVID-19 co-infection in the context of Rasmussen aneurysm is a rare occurrence, yet new cases are emerging. An elderly male was recently diagnosed with TB-COVID-19 co-infection and presented with sudden onset massive hemoptysis. The patient was diagnosed with Rasmussen aneurysm after being evaluated by computed tomography pulmonary angiogram due to a suggestive clinical presentation. Interventional radiologists planned for embolization of pulmonary artery, with an unidentifiable source.
