Objective: The purpose of this pilot study is to examine patients' experience and satisfaction using telemedicine for knee and hip osteoarthritis care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Adult patients seen via telemedicine for knee and/or hip osteoarthritis pain completed surveys through the REDCap online platform or pen/paper evaluating their experiences and satisfaction with telemedicine, assessed using yes/no and Likert scale questions. Demographic information was collected from the electronic medical record (EMR).

Results: 32 subjects (9 males, 23 females, mean age 63.2 years [SD = 12.2 years]) completed surveys. 90.6% of subjects stated that they were satisfied with the audio/video quality …

This poster describes the pathophysiology, symptoms, implications for care, and treatment of osteoporosis for advanced practice RNs. The research was conducted within health-related databases. The literature review narrowed the search to only include the pathophysiology, interventions, and care for osteoporosis. Literature was restricted to within the past five years. The research showed that osteoporosis reduces mineral density in bones and can be adequately treated within a short amount of time. It is important for nurses and advanced practice providers to be aware of current guidelines, screenings, and treatments for osteoporosis.

Objective: To determine the functional outcomes in total hip arthroplasty with a dual mobility cup, performed in our hospital.
Methods: After receiving an exemption from the Ethics review committee of the hospital, data collection for audit was started in January 2019. Records from July 2016 to June 2018 were included. All patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty with dual mobility prosthesis without any age limit were included. A proforma was prepared to collect the required information. Methodology: A retrospective study was conducted in the department of Orthopaedics Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi. All the paediatric and adult age group patients diagnosed with malignant, benign and metastatic bone tumours and meeting the inclusion criteria were selected and analysed. Retrospective data was collected from January 2008-January 2018.

Purpose: Wearing off of Parkinson’s disease medication is common, but triggers and coping strategies for this transient phenomenon are poorly understood. We aimed to assess the lived experience of OFF periods for people with Parkinson’s disease.

Methods: Participants in the longitudinal Fox Insight study who endorsed OFF periods were invited to complete a survey consisting of both multiple-choice and free-text responses. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize multiple-choice responses, and free-text responses were classified into themes through iterative discussion by 3 movement disorders specialists.

Background: Intraoperative hypothermia is associated with various risk factors, morbidity, and mortality in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA), increasing the emotional and financial burden on patients. This study aimed to identify risk factors of intraoperative hypothermia in patients undergoing TKA.
Materials and methods: All adult patients (⩾18 years) who underwent TKA from January 2016 to December 2017 at a tertiary-care hospital in Pakistan were included in this retrospective, cross-sectional study. Temperature < 36 °C was defined as hypothermia.

Background: Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most common forms of muscular dystrophy characterized by slowly progressive muscle weakness. Symptoms initially involve the facial and shoulder girdle muscles, with later involvement of the distal lower extremities, pelvic girdle and proximal lower extremities. FSHD type 1 (FHSD1) is the most common form (~95% of individuals) and is caused by deletion of microsatellite repeats in the D4Z4 region on chromosome 4 (4q35). Pyogenic flexor tenosynovitis is an infection of the flexor tendon sheath of a finger causing local inflammation and tissue destruction. The pathognomonic symptoms of flexor tenosynovitis are known as Kanavel’s signs, a constellation of symptoms that include: pain with passive extension of the finger, tenderness over the flexor tendon sheath, fusiform swelling of the affected finger, and the finger held in passive flexion. Although this term was first coined over three decades ago, there is a lack of consensus on a definition, screening criteria, and treatment protocol for sarcopenia. The effects of this disease results in a person's bones becoming brittle and weak to where it can easily fracture or completely break. Though this disease is similar to other bone-deteriorating diseases, like osteoporosis, osteogenesis imperfecta begins with a person having abnormalities in the genes that produce collagen in bones. Collagen is an important component of bone, keeping it strong and resilient against injuries. Yet, those genes end up shutting off, and the victim begins to lack collagen in their bones, making their bones susceptible to breaking.
