Meeting of Minds: Intellectual and Religious Interaction in East Asian Traditions of Thought, a volume of eleven essays written in honor of Wing-tsit Chan and William Theodore de Bary, proposes to explore how Confucian and Neo-Confucian traditions have responded to and have influenced other traditions (Buddhist, Taoist, folk, Japanese nativist, and so on) in China and Japan. The essays are arranged first geographically (seven articles on China precede four on Japan) and then roughly chronologically. All essays, save one, describe Sung or post-Sung developments. A few sentences per essay must suffice in this review. [excerpt]

吳宇森一般被評為動作導演，他的電影在觀眾心中只是內容貧乏、重感官刺激的槍戰片。本論文以電影作者(auteurs)的角度，探討吳宇森在港期間所拍的 “英雄片”，這些電影都有一貫的模式及主題。吳宇森的電影是他的自白，他以電影訴說他的感覺和理想，他所祟尚的俠義精神、道義都是 “英雄片” 的中心思想。本論文從三方面分析 “英雄片”，首先了解何謂俠義精神；然後探討 “英雄片” 的主題和模式；最後將 “英雄片” 與西方的犯罪片作比較，從中可見吳宇森著意宣揚中國傳統的美德，他希望觀眾能透過電影重新發掘人性的真善美。

A Bibliographic Survey On Baba Literature Focus On Chinese Literary Translated Works Into Baba Malay, Suan Kui Yoong

This study analyses the Baba translated works between 1889-1950, focusing on 68 unique titles identified from six libraries: University of Malaya Library, and the libraries at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, University Science of Malaysia, National Library of Singapore, National University of Singapore and the British Library. The Baba translated works indicated three periods of publication productivity between 1889-1909 (the embryonic period), which produced 18 publications, between 1910- 1929 (the stagnant period) with IO titles and between 1930-1939 (the revival period) with 39 titles. One title was published in 1950. The main focus of the study is on the translator. Between …

The primary aim of this research is to discuss the communicative behaviour of the local Chinese ( Peranakan Chinese) in Tanah Merah Kelantan. Two aspects embodied in this research are code-switching and code-mixing. This research is also presented because of a few reasons. A research was carried out to study the activities of Jiao Zong in the field of education, politics and cultural over a span of 45 years ( 1951-1996) in Malaysia. The research studied on the role played by Jiao Zong in each respective fields and also on the influence and contributions towards the Chinese community and nation. Chapter one gave a brief introduction on the history of Chinese education in Malaysia, the estabilshment of the association and of Jiao Zong's activities. 「敘述」（Narration）是作者的權力自我限制的一個過程。作者對一篇小說的底本，是無所不知，可以掌握所有資料的，但作者不能（不會）把一切資料都放在文本裡敘述出來。作者如何去選取甚麼可以說的，甚麼應該說的，如何去寫， 如何去敘述這個底本，便是構成一篇小說好與壞的重要因素：能不能恰當地敘述，或與別不同，或技巧出眾等等。易言之，好的敘述，也是一個權力自我限制得恰當的過程。
當作者意圖創作一篇小說，或者是讀者希望閱讀一篇小說，最初步便要選取 ／瞭解這篇小說是用那一種類的「敘述人稱」。敘述人稱最簡單及最直接的分類方法，便是以人稱代詞來劃分。故此，敘述人稱可以分作三種：「第一人稱（即 運用代詞『我』／『我們』）」敘述，「第二人稱（運用代詞『你』／『你們』）」 敘述及「第三人稱（運用代詞『他』／『他們』）」敘述。作者選取那一種敘述人稱便是權力自我限制的第一步，這決定了敘述者（Narrator）1的身份，及他的敘述視角（point of view）。
在這篇論文中，我希望討論「敘述人稱」中的「第二人稱敘述」。我希望探討「第二人稱敘述」與當代中文小說的關係，研究「第二人稱敘述」在當代中文 小說中起了甚麼樣的功能。這篇論文會分作三個部份，第一部份是在當代中文小說中找出運用第二人稱敘述的作品，探討這些作品在運用第二人稱敘述時有沒有甚麼不同的地方；若有不同，再歸納分類。第二部份是以第一部份分類後不同類型的作品作基楚，重新探索第二人稱敘述的定義及特質。第三部份是研究在當代中文小說中，這些不同類型的作品，展現了甚麼樣的特別的功能。

古龍《陸小鳳傳奇》的理想型與變態型人物, Suk Tuen Cheung

《陸小鳳傳奇》轟動了文壇，令作者古龍名聲大斐。《陸小鳳傳奇》成功的原因是寫出諸多獨具個性的人物，不論主角配角亦同樣精彩。每個人物都是有血有肉，其行為也是可圈可點。而且這部推理武俠小說的情節懸疑迭起，令讀者如入迷障，引人入勝。再加上文字洗煉優美，當中妙語如珠，像散文詩亦如禪機，可謂精妙絕倫。
全文分作兩大部份，第一部份分析小說中的三個理想型人物，分別為陸小鳳、花滿樓和西門吹雪。本文會以李贄的〈童心說〉作基礎分析陸小鳳的性格，以中國傳統的仁愛道德觀去顯示出花滿樓的完美性格，及以「性痴」來分析西門吹雪這位劍神的內在情感。
第二部份是探索《陸小鳳傳奇》中的變態人物性格特徵，集中分析宮九和牛肉湯這對心理變態的兄妹。古龍善寫變態人物，此二人的變態心理異常矛盾複雜，宮九自卑又自戀，牛肉湯既自大又墮落，這部份會以西方心理學為基礎進行研究，主要用佛洛伊德的心理學理論如性異常和多重性格等，從當九和牛肉湯的行為分析二人形成變態心理的原因和找出他們行為的動機。
古龍正是透過這兩種截然不同的人物的強烈對比，令他們互相突出對方，使兩種人物在小說中性格也非常鮮明。他們的對立衍生出人物之間的愛恨，不但使故事高潮迭起，同時亦因此而深深吸引了讀者，令讀者與小說中的人物一起走進古龍的奇幻武俠世界。

Thus,the objective of Multimedia Package Of Chinese Mid Autumn Festival is to introduce the festival more widely through a multimedia package. This package will contain the poems, songs, the food and other information of the festival. To improve the user's understanding of the after using the package, there is a quiz section to test the user. 中法甲申戰爭時，慘澹經營多年，後世喻為中國海軍搖籃的福州船政 局 (簡稱閩廠)，連同閩江沿線的防衛設備，於 1884年8月23-29 日的閩江之戰遭法人嚴重破壞。閩廠經費向非豐裕，戰後得修復與創新兼顧已非易事，更何況支用日益拮据，苟有所成，自屬難得。在這段非常時期，閩廠確有特殊的表現。這成就歸功於在甲申戰爭結束後不久便出掌閩廠的福建按察使蘇人裴蔭森(1823-1895)。

朱駿聲(1788-1858)與段玉裁(1735 -1815)同列名清代(1644-1911)「說文學」四大家。後世學者研究朱氏的《說文通訓定聲》和段氏的《說文解字注》此二「說文學」要典，成績早著。
就規模而言，《說文段注拈誤》自然難與《說文通訓定聲》相提並論。但在云云匡正《說文解字注》諸作之中，《說文段注拈誤》並不乏可觀之處，惜尚未引起學者的注意，遂敢為此篇，試述而評之。
