A054: Research On The Path Of Incentive Mechanisms For Improving The Quality Of Physical Education Teaching, Luyao Zhou, Hongyan Wang
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Background: Currently, the quality of physical education teaching in schools is steadily declining. In the process of physical education teaching, students have a biased understanding of the development of physical education classes. As the leaders of physical education classes, physical education teachers should adopt effective teaching methods to improve the teaching quality of physical education classes. The intervention method of incentive mechanisms is centered around the purpose of teaching activities, based on the needs of students, through teachers, transforming external stimuli such as environment into internal motivation of students. Therefore, during the teaching process, physical education teachers adopt appropriate incentive …

A057: Effects Of Aerobic Exercise On Glutamate Homeostasis In Nac During Withdrawal Period Of Nicotine Addiction, Xuanzhen Pan, Yan Li
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Background/Purpose: The disturbed glutamate homeostasis in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) plays a key role in the induction of relapse during nicotine withdrawal. The uptake of excessive extracellular glutamate relies on astrocytic glutamate transporter-1 (GLT-1) and transporter for cysteine (x-CT). Nicotine abuse leads to decreases in expressions of GLT-1 and xCT in NAc. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of exercise on the expressions of GLT-1 and x-CT during nicotine withdrawal.
Method: (1) 2-month-old male C57BL/6J mice were used in this experiment. Mice were randomly divided into four groups: saline sedentary (SS) group, saline exercise (SE) group, …

A060: The Influence Of Off-Load Training On The Lower Limb Strength Asymmetry Of Tennis Students, Zhongqin Zou, Juan Cai
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Background: Many studies have shown that interlimb asymmetry is prevalent in various sports. As a highly reactive, one-sided sport, tennis has been shown to have significant left-right differences in grip strength and triceps strength in tennis players. However, playing tennis can also place an uneven mechanical load on the lower extremities. This left-right difference in mechanical load may also result in asymmetrical strength in the lower limbs. Therefore, early and effective interventions are needed to narrow the strength gap between the non-dominant and dominant legs.
Methods: 21 male college tennis students were recruited and randomly divided into OS-ND group, OS-N …

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Background and Objectives: Among college students, individuals who have experiences of being bullied often exhibit a higher tendency towards smartphone dependency and lower levels of self-control, which further intensifies the degree of smartphone dependency. However, physical exercise may play a moderating role in this relationship, weakening the association between experiences of being bullied and self-control. This study aimed to explore this complex relationship and construct a moderated mediation model to further investigate the underlying psychological and behavioral mechanisms of smartphone dependency among college students.
Methods: A sample of 761 Chinese college students (age: 19.21 ± 0.99; 192 males, 569 females) …

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
PURPOSE: This study aimed to investigate whether reduced plantar cutaneous sensation could alter the movement strategies of the lower extremities in people with chronic ankle instability (CAI) during single leg drop landing.
METHODS: Fourteen adults with CAI were recruited (female: 6, age: 22.03±1.73 years, height: 1.72±0.11 m, body weight: 71.53±15.49 kg) in this study. Participants placed their bare foot on shaved ice for 10 minutes to reduce plantar cutaneous sensation sensitivity. The plantar skin sensation on the fifth metatarsal was measured with a set of Semmes-Weinstein monofilaments. The higher values indicated lower sensitivity and higher thresholds. The participants executed three …

Background: Medications often lead to adverse effects, mind-body exercise (MBE) therapy has become a more popular option for treating patients with fibromyalgia (FM). In recent studies MBE has been found to appear to be a more effective method for improving quality of life for FM patients; however, there are many different types of MBE and the most effective type of MBE therapy is not known. We, therefore, intent to compare the effects of different MBE types on improving the overall HRQOL and typical symptoms in patients with FM.
Methods: A Bayesian network meta-analysis was conducted. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing …
