Course Overview

This workshop creates an immersive experience demonstrating the effectiveness using the IPEC framework with IPE-based activities and shares outcome measures for integration into respective educational curricula. A gap exists in health-science programs regarding the effects of IPE. Novel activities include a multi-disciplinary experience of an escape room, chart review, and simulation vignettes. After the workshop, attendees will have tools to build an IPE framework in their respective programs.

Purpose

The purpose of this project was to design an educational model that integrates the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Collaborative Practice Competency Domains into the curriculum across multiple disciplines. A faculty team from physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), medicine, and physician’s assistant (PA) programs, collaborated to create an introductory interprofessional education (IPE) framework and course module series. Currently, there are limited studies in rehabilitation education programs demonstrating the effectiveness of IPE-based activities on student outcomes. This report describes a research study to measure the effect of simulation on clinical educators’ knowledge and skills about effective formative feedback for prelicensure nursing students.

Subject Population: Clinical nurse educators who teach prelicensure nursing students in clinical education were recruited.

Research Design: Pre-test and post-test design with a simulation workshop for educators as the intervention. This was a pilot study.

This study assessed the perspective, practice and barrier that mitigate the integration of Information and Communication Technologies into nursing and midwifery education in Ghana. With purposive and convenience sampling techniques, a sample size of 108 health tutors was involved in the study. The findings revealed that most of the health tutors utilised information and communication technologies in the presentation of lessons to students and the management of examination results. Social media platforms, productivity tools and E-books were the most used technologies among health tutors. The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota is home to one of the poorest populations in the United States. Running Strong for American Indian Youth has provided resources for over thirty years to the reservation. One of the co-founders, Billy Mills, has made it his life’s mission to give back to the community he came from. He overcame a difficult childhood to achieve his dreams and chose to use his success to help others. This poster demonstrates the life and accomplishments of Billy Mills that have led him to his philanthropic success.

Purpose: The article discusses Outward Bound’s participation in the human potential movement through its incorporation of T-group practices and the reform language of experiential education in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Design/methodology/approach: The article reports on original research conducted using materials from Dartmouth College and other Outward Bound collections from 1957-1976. It follows a case study approach to illustrate themes pertaining to Outward Bound’s creation and evolution in the United States, and the establishment of experiential education more broadly.

This study was designed to evaluate the factors related to Physical Education course enrollment at a predominately two-year state college operating under a community college model in the state of Florida as it pertains to enrollment declines in electives focused on health and wellness. The mixed-methods study included a survey of current students at the college (n =177) perceptions and reasons for enrolling in physical education classes. Further, a historical data analysis (n = 87,399) of students' institutional records was conducted to investigate the relationship between student success and physical education. Nationally, many health teachers have not received health education training. Minnesota does not require sexual health training or sexual health professional development for health education teachers. School Health Profiles 2018 data was analyzed to determine who teaches sexual health education in Minnesota, what they teach, how they teach it, and their desired future professional development. Teachers who received pre-service health education training were compared with teachers who received other pre-service preparation. Additionally, teachers who received sexual health professional development were compared with teachers who did not receive sexual health professional development. Every year, college campuses report alcohol and other drug (AOD) policy violations as the most frequent reason students receive disciplinary referrals and, thus, are mandated to programming. This dissertation focused on exploring characteristics of students mandated to intervention programming in order to provide recommendations for future programs. Background: Sports- and recreation-related (SRR) activities are a major cause of adolescent concussions. Most adolescent SRR concussion research has been conducted among public school students. As private schools are qualitatively different from public schools (eg, location, socioeconomic status, sports played), this study explores the concussion experiences of a large group of private high school students. Methods: We surveyed 2047 New England private preparatory high school students who played sports or engaged in a recreational activity in 2018 about the sports they played, and their self-reported concussion experiences (eg, age at first concussion, if concussions were sports- or recreation-related). การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยแบบผสมผสานโดยศึกษาเชิงปริมาณและเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและความต้องการจำเป็นของหลักสูตรรายวิชาเพิ่มเติมพลศึกษาโดยใช้ทฤษฎีการตั้งเป้าหมายเพื่อเสริมสร้างสมาธิของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 และ 2) เพื่อนำเสนอหลักสูตรรายวิชาเพิ่มเติมพลศึกษาโดยใช้ทฤษฎีการตั้งเป้าหมาย กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ครูพลศึกษา แบ่งเป็นการสัมภาษณ์กับกลุ่มผู้เชี่ยวชาญ จำนวน 6 คน และกลุ่มครูที่ทำแบบสอบถาม จำนวน 378 คน โดยใช้เทคนิควิธีสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน และคำนวณกลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยใช้สูตรของ ทาโร่ ยามาเน่ จากโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาในสังกัดสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ คือ แนวคำถามสัมภาษณ์กึ่งโครงสร้าง และแบบสอบถาม โดยมีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องโดยรวม เท่ากับ 0.97 และค่าความเที่ยงเท่ากับ 0.96 การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าดัชนีการจัดลำดับความสำคัญ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า หลักสูตรรายวิชาเพิ่มเติมพลศึกษาโดยใช้ทฤษฎีการตั้งเป้าหมายเพื่อเสริมสร้างสมาธิของนักเรียนประถมศึกษา ประกอบด้วย 4 องค์ประกอบ คือ 1) ด้านวัตถุประสงค์ มีดังนี้ ด้านสมาธิ ด้านคุณธรรม ด้านสมรรถภาพทางกาย ด้านความรู้ ด้านทักษะ และด้านเจตคติ 2) ด้านเนื้อหา เน้นในเรื่องของกีฬาไทยประยุกต์ เกมกลุ่มสัมพันธ์ นอกเหนือจากเนื้อหาตามหลักสูตรแกนกลาง เพื่อให้นักเรียนมีสมาธิจดจ่อในการปฏิบัติมากยิ่งขึ้น 3) ด้านกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้พลศึกษา ควรเน้นการสอนกิจกรรมการเคลื่อนไหวพื้นฐาน ประกอบจังหวะ และมีสื่ออุปกรณ์ประกอบเพื่อให้ผู้เรียนมีสมาธิจดจ่อกับอุปกรณ์นั้น 4) การวัดและประเมินผล มีการวางแผน โดยจัดทำพิมพ์เขียวในการกำหนดขอบเขตของเนื้อหา โดยเน้นพัฒนาการของผู้เรียน นอกจากนี้การทำแบบทดสอบควรมีการตรวจสอบความถูกต้อง และวิเคราะห์คุณภาพของแบบทดสอบ และมีการสำรองข้อมูลของการทดสอบเพื่อป้องกันการสูญหาย

การเปิดรับสื่อ การรับรู้ ความรู้ และพฤติกรรมด้านการป้องกันในสถานการณ์การระบาดใหญ่ทั่วโลกของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น: กรณีโควิด 19, กัลยภัฏร์ ศรีไพโรจน์

การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาเชิงวิเคราะห์แบบภาคตัดขวาง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการเปิดรับสื่อ การรับรู้ ความรู้เกี่ยวกับโรคโควิด 19 และพฤติกรรมด้านการป้องกันในสถานการณ์การระบาดใหญ่ทั่วโลกของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น: กรณีโควิด 19 กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นจาก 10 โรงเรียนในประเทศไทย จำนวน 540 คน ซึ่งได้มาจากการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ คือ แบบสอบถามออนไลน์ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้นและผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาเท่ากับ 0.99 ได้ค่าความเที่ยงเท่ากับ 0.85 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์เพียร์สัน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีการเปิดรับสื่อ การรับรู้ ความรู้ และพฤติกรรมด้านการป้องกันในสถานการณ์การระบาดใหญ่ทั่วโลก: กรณีโควิด 19 อยู่ในระดับปานกลางถึงระดับมาก โดยสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ (เฟซบุ๊ก ไลน์ ทวิตเตอร์ ฯลฯ) เป็นแหล่งข้อมูลที่มีการเปิดรับสื่อมากที่สุด ส่วนประเด็นที่มีการรับรู้ข้อมูลข่าวสารมากที่สุด คือ การดู ฟัง พูดคุย อ่าน หรือสืบค้นข้อมูลสถานการณ์การระบาดของโรคโควิด 19 ในประเทศไทย เนื้อหาสาระด้านที่มีความรู้มากที่สุด คือ ด้านอาการและการดำเนินโรค และพฤติกรรมด้านการป้องกันที่ปฏิบัติได้อย่างเหมาะสมมากที่สุด คือ การสวมหน้ากากอนามัย ส่วนด้านความสัมพันธ์พบว่า การเปิดรับสื่อ การรับรู้ และความรู้เกี่ยวกับโรคโควิด 19 มีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกกับพฤติกรรมด้านการป้องกันในสถานการณ์การระบาดใหญ่: กรณีโควิด 19 (r = 0.58, 0.61 และ 0.20 ตามลำดับ) ผลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่าการเปิดรับสื่อ การรับรู้ และความรู้เกี่ยวกับโรคโควิด 19 มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมด้านการป้องกันในสถานการณ์การระบาดใหญ่ทั่วโลก: กรณีโควิด 19 ของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น

การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาการพัฒนาทักษะกีฬาฟุตบอลและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาโดยใช้การเรียนรู้โดยสมองเป็นฐานโดย 1) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะกีฬาฟุตบอลและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ก่อนและหลังการทดลองของกลุ่มทดลอง 2) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะกีฬาฟุตบอลและความคิดสร้างสรรค์หลังการทดลองของกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักเรียนประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 จำนวน 40 คน ได้จากการสุ่มอย่างง่าย แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้พลศึกษาโดยใช้การเรียนรู้โดยสมองเป็นฐาน จำนวน 20 คนและกลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติจำนวน 20 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้พลศึกษาโดยใช้การเรียนรู้สมองเป็นฐาน จำนวน 8 แผน มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องอยู่ระหว่าง 0.88 ถึง 0.92 และแบบวัดทักษะกีฬาฟุตบอล และความคิดสร้างสรรค์ มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้อง 0.86 และ 1.00 ระยะเวลาในการดำเนินการวิจัย 8 สัปดาห์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และทดสอบความแตกต่างค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนด้วยสถิติ t-test ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะพื้นฐานกีฬาฟุตบอล และความคิดสร้างสรรค์หลังการทดลองของกลุ่มทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะกีฬาฟุตบอล และความคิดสร้างสรรค์หลังการทดลอง ของกลุ่มทดลองสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between principal priorities, written wellness policies, and school wellness policy implementation. Methods: Principal priorities of nutrition and physical activity, written wellness policy quality and degree of policy implementation were assessed in 95 schools from eight states using the principal priorities questionnaire, the Wellness School Assessment Tool (WellSAT) version 2.0, and the Wellness School Assessment Tool for Implementation (WellSAT-I), respectively. The purpose of this study was to examine physical education (PE) experiences from the perspective of an adult with Bardet-Biedl syndrome. An interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) research approach was used, and one male (age 32) with Bardet-Biedl syndrome acted as the participant. Sources of data included a semi-structured, audiotaped telephone interview and reflective interview notes. The interview was transcribed verbatim and data were analyzed thematically using a two-step approach informed by the IPA. This study sought to understand how patients’ perceptions of the nature and manner of communication with dental health professionals may impact their health self-management quality and habits in the context of preventable illness. Specifically, this study investigated the distinct and overlapping impacts of (a) communication based in the Common Sense Self-Regulation Model (CSM; Leventhal et al., 1980), and (b) the interpersonal relationship between the patient and the dental health professional provider on patients’ oral hygiene quality and habits.
