Scotchwhisky101.Com: A User-Friendly, Persona-Driven Website, William Dillon Miller
Mahurin Honors College Capstone Experience/Thesis Projects
Within the realm of web design and marketing, it is easy for the designer to get caught up in what he/she thinks the site needs to look like. The problem is that web users are trying to accomplish specific tasks, and websites need to be tailored towards these users, not towards the designer. To work on this problem, I chose to make a website entitled “scotchwhisky101.com.” Most websites about single malts are too information-heavy and/or outdated. I used this problem to learn methods of user-oriented web design. To achieve this end, I gathered data through a survey. I then took …

The Impact Of The Social Media Influencer Power On Consumer Attitudes Toward The Brand: The Mediating/Moderating Role Of Social Media Influencer Source Credibility, Lubna Nafees, Christy M. Cook, James E. Stoddard
Atlantic Marketing Journal
This paper presents a conceptual model of the impact of social media influencer power on consumer attitudes toward a brand. The research uses naïve theories of social influence, consumer socialization theory and market signaling theory to support the contention that social media influencer power will impact consumer brand attitudes. However, the impact of the social media influencer power on consumer brand attitudes is posited to be mediated and/or moderated by the social media influencer source credibility. In turn, the social media influencer source credibility is modeled as being positively related to the social media influencer’s expertise/competence with respect to the …

Growing competitiveness and increasing availability of data is generating great interest in data-driven analytics across industries. One of the areas that has gained a lot of attention is Customer choice modeling, which aims to explain the choices individual customers make in choosing from a set of products based on their preferences. While effective customer choice modeling is essential to a wide variety of application domains, including retail, it is challenging in practice due to limitations around the quality of the data available for modeling and potentially complex choice behaviors. This dissertation presents a hybrid modeling approach that relies on both …

Explaining Customer Loyalty To Retail Stores: A Moderated Explanation Chain Of The Process, Arturo Z. Vasquez-Parraga, Miguel Sahagun
Marketing Faculty Publications
This chapter reassesses the process of how store customers become loyal to their stores; what are the core subprocesses generating customer store loyalty, and what contributing moderators enrich the final outcome. A new empirical research is designed to identify and test a parsimonious model of core relationships and moderators. The result is an explanation chain that incorporates relational variables, trust, and commitment to the traditional transactional one, customer satisfaction, and the moderating factors of the relational variables. The findings reveal that 1) customer commitment is the major contributor of explanation to true customer loyalty, significantly more than the contributed explanation …

With that push, the next step was post-professional training, including residencies and fellowships.”

Emma Hill firmly believes that an experience is what you make of it, so when she arrived on ETSU for her freshman year, she was determined to make this journey a positive one.
Her post-high school journey had already taken a different course from the one she had initially planned. Her original plan was to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. She was all set, but at the last minute, a past shoulder injury she sustained as a cheerleader medically disqualified her. Emma later inquired about enlisting with the Navy, but again she was not able to pass the medical …
