Objective: While gel-formulated rectal microbicides (RM) are the first to enter clinical trials, rectal douching in preparation for anal intercourse is a common practice; thus RMs formulated as douches may be a convenient alternative to gels. Nonetheless, little is known about potential users' thoughts regarding douche-formulated RMs or rectal douching practices, data that is needed to inform the advancement of douche-based RMs. This qualitative study examined thoughts regarding douches, their use as an RM and current douching practices among men who have sex with men and transgender women.

The purpose of this study will be to determine if METRIHC is an effective model for treating depression in minority populations.MethodsThe data for the study was collected from 2013 through 2014 as part of an assessment of a Collaborative Care Model. Participants were administered Patient Health Questionnaires PHQ-9 and General Anxiety Disorder GAD-7 every office visit or every three months to rate METRIHC effectiveness.ResultsA Paired Samples T-Test in which the results of participants initial and final PHQ-9 scores were compared together and the results of the participants initial and final GAD-7 scores were compared together. A substantial increase in the number of grandparents raising grandchildren occurred over the past three decades and moves across all ethnicities. African American (AA) grandparent caregivers, however, experience the most stress; yet have the fewest resources as compared with other ethnicities. In addition, AA grandchildren are more likely to live with their grandparents than other ethnicities. This study qualitatively explores (1) the stressors and experiences of grandparent caregiving among AA grandparents, (2) the importance of social support, and (3) the impact that grandparent caregiving has on relationships. The present study examined bullying exposure among a clinical population of school-age children and adolescents who are receiving social work intervention in a community mental health research and training setting. Multiple assessment tools measure PTSD. Participants used the PCL-M, or the SCID. I used the CAPS to supplement these assessments. None of these is usually taught to graduate social work students despite requirement changes from the NASW and the CSWE (2010, 2012). I had two aims. The first was to train me in psychometric assessment tools, specifically the CAPS. The second aim was to determine whether participants received a positive diagnosis of PTSD from one measure but not the CAPS, or vice versa. This systematic review examines the empirical literature for American veterans with a dual diagnosis of PTSD and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Concurrent treatment and treatment targeting one of the disorders was the basis for research question used. Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE), the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) statement, and COPES (Client Oriented Practical; Evidence Search Guides) method of question formation was chosen. Neuroimaging studies of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)-related memory impairments have consistently implicated abnormal activities in the frontal and parietal lobes. However, most studies have used block designs and could not dissociate the multiple phases of working memory. In this study, the involvement of the prefrontal cortex in working memory phases was assessed among veterans with PTSD and age-/ gender-matched healthy controls. Multichannel functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) was utilized to measure prefrontal cortex hemodynamic activations during memory of neutral (i.e., not trauma-related) forward and backward digit span tasks. Identity, understood from many vantage points, is continually evolving based on relationship experiences, including those relationships established in social and behavioral research. Whether rendered anonymous in large quantitatively-studied samples, or intimately known in qualitative studies, those contributing to science in a role termed “subject” receive, through the research, definitions of their identities. The present study examines the role of positive and negative consequences and peer influence as proximal and contextual variables that influence drinking in college students. Data from a sample of 1482 students who completed the CORE survey in 2006 and 2007 were utilized to test three models predicting the likelihood of alcohol use in the 30 days prior to survey completion. The final model reflected the best fit of the data and indicated that both positive and negative consequences were positively associated with a greater likelihood of drinking while freshman standing and being a racial and ethnic minority were negatively …
