Purpose- This study investigates the performance of practicing physicians and medical trainees on learning health equity material. The population was tested on basic terminology and concepts of health equity in a module called “Basics of Health Equity.”

Design- The American Medical Association published an e-learning module available to a diverse population that took the quiz for continuing medical education credit. The population includes physicians and medical professional from all states and territories in the United States. From this population, one sample included all identifiable practicing physician’s quiz data, 499. A second sample included undergraduate medical students and resident physicians, 1573. …

This thesis arose from a particular fascination and frustration with the prescribed nuclear family unit and the competitive isolation that capitalism breeds within normative communities, particularly in the United States. In this paper, I use the approach of theoretical exploration combined with case study research to explore the role of community and kinship within grassroots environmental justice organizations. วิทยานิพนธ์ มาตรการกำกับควบคุมระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกม: กลไกเพื่อความสนุกหรือการพนันแฝง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเพื่อศึกษาการทำงานของระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมว่าเป็นกลไกเพื่อความสนุกหรือการพนันแฝง ผลกระทบที่อาจเกิดต่อผู้เล่นและต่อสังคม และเพื่อมาตรการกำกับควบคุมระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมของประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ เพื่อเสนอแนวทางที่เหมาะสมในการกำกับควบคุมการใช้ระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมสำหรับประเทศไทย โดยศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิจัยเชิงเอกสารและการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจากผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญในหน่วยงานภาครัฐ และภาคเอกชน จำนวน 17 คน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การทำงานของระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกม เป็นทั้งระบบที่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของวิดีโอเกมและระบบที่มีลักษณะและการส่งผลทางจิตเหมือนกับการพนัน เสมือนการพนันแฝงภายในวิดีโอเกม แต่ระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมไม่มีสถานะเป็นการพนันตามพระราชบัญญัติการพนัน พ.ศ. 2478 ระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมส่งผลกระทบทั้งในด้านความไม่เป็นธรรมต่อผู้เล่น ด้านสุขภาพ และด้านเศรฐกิจและสังคม ซึ่งอาจส่งผลให้เกิดปัญหาอาชญากรรมอื่นตามมา ในปัจจุบันประเทศไทยยังไม่มีกฎหมายหรือหน่วยงานใดที่กำกับควบคุมระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมโดยตรง และไม่มีมาตรการของภาคเอกชนไทยในการกำกับควบคุมระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกม ในส่วนของมาตรการกำกับควบคุมระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมของต่างประเทศ ในส่วนของภาครัฐมีการใช้มาตรการทางกฎหมายการพนัน กฎหมายคุ้มครองผู้บริโภค และกฎหมายกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมโดยตรง ภาคเอกชนมีการทำข้อตกลงในภาคอุตสาหกรรมเกม มีมาตรการของร้านค้าออนไลน์ และมาตรการจัดเรทวิดีโอเกม แนวทางของมาตรการกำกับควบคุมระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมที่เหมาะสมสำหรับประเทศไทย คือ 1) มีการนิยามการพนันไว้ในกฎหมายอย่างชัดเจน 2) ให้มีกฎหมายเกี่ยวกับระบบกล่องสุ่มภายในวิดีโอเกมโดยตรง 3) ให้มีการจัดเรทวิดีโอเกมโดยพิจารณาจากระบบการเล่น 4) ให้มีมาตรการสำหรับผู้ให้บริการเกมจากต่างประเทศ นอกจากนี้ควรมีการประชาสัมพันธ์ให้ความรู้เพิ่มเติม และส่งเสริมการทำงานของทุกภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้อง

การศึกษาเชิงพรรณนานี้มุ่งศึกษาลักษณะ ปัจจัยที่สัมพันธ์ต่อความขัดแย้ง รูปแบบการจัดการที่มิได้เข้ากระบวนการศาลจากโรงพยาบาลตติยภูมิในกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑลในช่วงแพร่ระบาดของโรคโควิด-19 รวมถึงผลกระทบจากสถานการณ์ ตลอดจนโอกาสพัฒนาแนวคิดยุติธรรมเชิงสมานฉันท์ โดยศึกษาข้อมูลเบื้องต้นจากหน่วยงานบริหารความขัดแย้งผ่านแบบสอบถาม และสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกในผู้ที่เคยได้รับความเสียหายในบริการทางการแพทย์ ผู้บริหารระบบและไกล่เกลี่ยความขัดแย้ง ผลการศึกษาจากการสำรวจจากโรงพยาบาล 19 แห่ง พบว่าการให้ข้อมูลที่ไม่เหมาะสม และปัญหาการสื่อสาร เป็นเหตุสำคัญสูงสุด (ร้อยละ 71.5) ผู้ไกล่เกลี่ยที่เคยอบรมหลักสูตรการเจรจาไกล่เกลี่ย หรือการบริหารความขัดแย้งมีเพียงส่วนน้อย (ร้อยละ 12.2) และไม่มีผู้รู้จักแนวคิดยุติธรรมสมานฉันท์ ผลสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกพบว่าความขัดแย้งนั้นเกี่ยวเนื่องกับผู้ป่วยเชื่อว่าความเสียหายนั้นเกิดจากการบริการ ความบกพร่องของสื่อสารหรือท่าทีของผู้ให้บริการ ส่วนอุปสรรคต่อความสำเร็จการยุติความขัดแย้งที่สำคัญ คือ ผู้บริหารความขัดแย้งขาดอำนาจตัดสินใจ แสดงออกไม่จริงใจและไม่เป็นกลาง ผู้ให้บริการทางการแพทย์ที่ไม่แสดงความเห็นใจ และรูปแบบการเยียวยาที่ไม่ตรงความต้องการกับผู้เสียหาย สอดคล้องกับกรณียุติความขัดแย้งสำเร็จพบว่าคณะผู้เสียหายได้รับเยียวยาเพียงพอ ได้รับการสื่อสารที่เข้าใจและเข้าหาสม่ำเสมอ ดังนั้นผู้บริหารควรร่วมบริหารความขัดแย้ง ให้ความสำคัญกับภาระงานและส่งเสริมพัฒนาทักษะผู้ปฏิบัติ รวมทั้งนำหลักยุติธรรมสมานฉันท์มาประยุกต์ใช้ ที่มุ่งเน้นเยียวยาให้อภัยและนำไปสู่ยุติความขัดแย้งได้

Breakwaters are more than just physical structures that protect against storm surges and in the context of Long Beach, CA, my hometown, they are actualizations of economic, social, environmental, geologic, and policy challenges. Inspired by Trace: Memory, History, Race, and the American Landscape by Lauret Savoy, and Teaching to Transgress by bell hooks, I use an extended metaphor and autoethnographic approach to connect a chronology of my educational life to the physical structure of a breakwater. For two hundred years Americans have had to fight for the right to vote, yet it is still an ongoing challenge for many communities, the Latinx community in particular. In this study I analyzed what factors determine an individual’s access and participation in the voting process, focusing on the Latinx community in the Canal District of San Rafael, who are impacted by the barriers intended to limit their ability to vote. Underrepresented youth (Latino, Black, Pacific Islander, and Native American) face challenges in school enrollment/completion and often lack feelings of belonging in educational and social institutions. One specific group of underrepresented youth who face unique struggles is unaccompanied youth. Mentoring, a non-parental relationship between a young person and someone who supports and guides youth, has been found to result in better well-being and health in adolescents and potentially lead to higher self-worth and better academic performance. Race in the US is shaped by a history rooted in settler colonialism, colorism, and nativism. Yet, international students are typically excluded from most conversations about race and racialization. Using Fries-Britt, George Mwangi, and Peralta’s (2014) emergent framework on learning race in US contexts, we examined international students of Color’s racialized experiences at a predominantly White institution, including how their racialized experiences were often shaped simultaneously by issues of race and racism in the US as well as preconceived notions of what their US collegiate experiences would be. Malnutrition, especially in the form of wasting, stunting, and obesity, is disproportionately harming the Indigenous communities in Malaysia. Under the current legal system, Indigenous people receive little to no recognition and protection. Their land is often appropriated by the oil palm and dam industries, resulting in higher incidences of malnutrition and poverty. In order to improve the nutritional status of Malaysia as a whole, potential policies and programs include food fortification, crop diversification, and social safety nets. For the most marginalized communities, indigeneity and land restitution are analyzed as avenues to improve their livelihood.
