Abortion Decisions As Humanizing Acts: The Application Of Ambivalent Sexism And Objectification To Women-Centered Anti-Abortion Rhetoric, Rachel L. Dyer, Olivia R. Checkalski, Sarah Gervais

Women-centered anti-abortion rhetoric, grounded in ostensibly positive beliefs that pregnant people are precious objects who must be protected from having abortions, has proliferated anti-abortion activism and legislation. However, abortion stigma, marked by negative perceptions of people who terminate pregnancies, is the most widely used theoretical tool for understanding the social and psychological implications of abortion. In this article, we first integrate these two seemingly contradictory perspectives on abortion through the lens of ambivalent sexism theory. We then argue that ambivalent sexism paves the way for objectifying perceptions and treatment of pregnant people; specifically, our typology of reproductive objectification provides a …

Italian is a gendered language in which reference to grammatical gender has been constant and inevitable. As language reflects and shapes society, grammatical gender reinforces binary views of social gender and the invizibilization of non-binary identities. Movements for social justice have inspired gender-fair linguistic innovations, such as the feminization of job titles and gender-neutral markers, to promote gender equity and challenge hierarchies of power and dominance in society. This research aimed to explore gender-neutral forms in the Italian grammatical system and public perceptions of these innovations through two studies with two groups of participants.

This research investigates the historical and current focus of the field of marketing on the disability community and considers whether marketers can positively impact attitudes toward the group through their firm media content. My first essay uses the Rocky Road to Policy Pavers model to discuss the importance of this large and underserved consumer group, and highlights several opportunities for the marketing community to reduce existing barriers to disabled consumers in the marketplace. การศึกษาวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบและลักษณะของข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังต่ออีกฝักฝ่ายในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้องกับข่าวอาชญากรรมในประเทศไทยบนแพลตฟอร์มเฟซบุ๊ก รวมถึงปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการรับรู้ และการรับรู้ข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังของผู้ใช้งานเฟซบุ๊ก และเพื่อศึกษามาตรการควบคุมการแสดงความคิดเห็นที่เป็นการแพร่กระจายความเกลียดชังบนสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ต่อบุคคลอื่น โดยใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิจัยแบบเอกสาร การรวบรวมข้อมูลเอกสารที่เป็นข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังใต้โพสต์ข่าวอาชญากรรมในคดีฆาตกรต่อเนื่อง 6 ศพ คดีอดีตผู้กำกับใช้ถุงคลุมหัวผู้ต้องหายาเสพติด และคดีฆาตกรรมเน็ตไอดอล และการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้างต่อผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ 15 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบข้อความที่แสดงความเกลียดชังต่ออีกฝักฝ่ายที่พบเหมือนกันทั้งสามคดีคือ การแบ่งแยกแบบไม่ตั้งใจต่อกลุ่มเป้าหมาย ลักษณะของข้อความที่พบมักเป็นการบอกกล่าว การชี้นำ และการแสดงความรู้สึก ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับความคิดเห็นของผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญต่อข้อความที่แสดงความเกลียดชังใต้โพสต์ข่าวอาชญากรรม ส่วนปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการรับรู้นั้นพบว่ามีอยู่ 3 ปัจจัย คือ (1) ปัจจัยด้านจิต ได้แก่ แรงจูงใจส่วนตนและวัฒนธรรม (2) ปัจจัยด้านสังคม ได้แก่ การได้รับการยอมรับ การเลียนแบบหรือการคล้อยตามผู้ที่เคารพนับถือ ความต้องการในการปกป้องกลุ่มตน และการอบรมเลี้ยงดู และ (3) ปัจจัยด้านสภาพแวดล้อม ได้แก่ การเข้าถึงง่าย ความเป็นนิรนาม กฎหมายและการขาดผู้ตรวจตรา ขณะที่การรับรู้ข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังล้วนได้รับอิทธิพลมาจากปัจจัยการรับรู้ทั้งสามและการนำเสนอข่าวของสำนักข่าวอันจะเป็นการกำหนดทิศทางให้การตอบสนองมีความแตกต่างหลากหลาย มาตรการควบคุมการแสดงความคิดเห็นที่เป็นการแพร่กระจายความเกลียดชังบนสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ นอกเหนือไปจากกฎหมายและนโยบายแพลตฟอร์มที่มีอยู่ ควรมีการจัดตั้งหน่วยงานภายใต้สังกัดกระทรวงดิจิทัลเพื่อเศรษฐกิจและสังคมเข้ามาช่วยประสานการแก้ปัญหาและดำเนินคดีระหว่างภาครัฐและเจ้าของแพลตฟอร์ม เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ที่มีความรู้ความชำนาญเกี่ยวกับระบบโครงข่ายคอมพิวเตอร์เข้ามาร่วมติดตามและตรวจสอบ บรรจุวิชาความรู้เท่าทันสื่อเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในกิจกรรมแนะแนว สร้างกลุ่มศิลปินดาราตัวอย่างประชาสัมพันธ์เรื่องสิทธิเสรีภาพ สร้างสื่อเรื่องสั้นที่เข้าถึงคนทุกเพศทุกวัย จัดตั้งพื้นที่สำหรับแลกเปลี่ยนปัญหาการใช้สื่อสังคมออนไลน์ในระดับชุมชน จัดตั้ง Online Community เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นต่างในระดับสังคมแบบไม่เปิดเผยตัวตน

The purpose of the current study was to help amplify and analyze Black American elementary student voice in a post-2020 world. Discussions and writings were conducted at the students’ charter school in spaces where students voiced what it meant to be a Black American youth through both verbal and written means. The current qualitative study focused on using discussions and creative writing to help participants make sense of their identity in their school, community, and the United States. Adventists have been inconsistent in dealing with inequality and injustice in society, swaying between silence, accommodation, positional statements, and direct advocacy approaches. Although advocacy has become more prominent among Adventist thinkers since the end of the twentieth century, there is a lack of empirical data which answer questions related to contemporary Adventists' beliefs and practices in relation to advocacy in the context of mission. Concomitantly, there does not yet exist a documented or articulated Adventist missiological perspective on advocacy.

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease that affects millions of people worldwide, the incidence and severity of asthma is influenced influenced by various factors, including air masses, and weather conditions. Asthma can also disproportionately affect different sociodemographics groups, leading to inequalities and injustices. This study used statistical analysis and GIS to analyze the spatial distribution of asthma calls and their relationship to sociodemographic traits in Wichita, KS, Tulsa, OK, and Oklahoma City, OK, and the seasonal distribution of asthma calls and their relationship to air masses. Telebehavioral health offers a unique opportunity to expand access to mental health services for older clients by addressing systemic barriers that often render mental health care inaccessible in later life. Although health interventions facilitated by technology, including telebehavioral health approaches, proliferated at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, little guidance exists for counselors seeking to provide such services to clients in later life. In this manuscript, we describe challenges accessing mental health services, how telebehavioral health services can address these barriers, and practical consideration for delivering telebehavioral health approaches for counselors who work with older clients.

Disability culture is often misunderstood by counselors who lack extensive training in working with individuals with disabilities (IWDs) (Stuntzner & Hartley, 2014). This quantitative study used the Counseling Clients with Disability Survey (CCDS) to explore the beliefs and perceived knowledge of counselors-in-training (CITs), counselors, and counselor educators regarding preparation to counsel IWDs, which is particularly important as disability status can change across the lifespan, and given that the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) Standards Review Committee provided a guide to the draft standards incorporating the infusion of disability concepts. There is a low percentage of BIPOC women in politics; however, the majority of them are in Divine 9 sororities. I'll find a correlation between the principles of the Divine Nine and these upstanding women in society through various interviews with women in local politics who are also in the Divine Nine. Despite the beneficial impacts of drug court participation, access to these programs may not be equitable across racial groups. The reasons behind racial disparities in access to these programs are not well-documented in the current literature. This study investigates disparities in access to drug court and the possible reasons they occur. Chi-square tests are used to assess for disparities in admissions between Black and White individuals referred to drug court.
